When fishing in very shallow water on pole, I find scaling down mainline to 0.18 and 0.17/0.16 hk length, also push all shot underfloat no bulk of shot above hooklength as spooks fish, try it,it works
Never used a pole in my life and ive won a few matches with a waggler rod opens at makins and other local club matches , im no longer a club member as i work so miss all the matches anyway but ive done 288lb from hollyhurst match pool few years ago on just 2 tins of corn and bread
I think the Carp see the far margin as a safe area whilst the close margin is more of a danger zone. There is more disturbance and noise and stuff in the water like keep nets. As a match progresses the fish either get more greedy and confident or they become more cautious. I assume that things like water temperture air pressure and water clarity are factors in their appetite and 'mood'. As you guys know you feed the close margin through the match to gain the fishes confidence and fish it late hoping the fish are feeling 'safe' to feed close in near the anglers.
Interesting Video. Proves absolutely nothing. There is a vast difference to fishing Far bank margin to close margin. Far bank less disturbance. I also think the fish are generally easier fooled by Pole than Feeder. I think if you fish Feeder 6+feet from the near margin you would get a better result. There are so many reasons why feeder in close/near margin can work as well. I think it could be Fishery particular. Good try though Lads. Cheers
That was properly funny. Rob was spot on when he said he could hear Lees voice get angrier. Class lads 👏👏
Never used a pole, never will!

Do you think a little back lead would work and get around the problem of the line going through the peg ??
Great video next time when I am there give it go thank you LADS
Why such a long float in such a mega shallow swim.
I would maybe try preston mini method in 20g with a micro bandum and two sinkers on your line, too many micros going in maybe.
Short rod so that your line runs close to the bank?
Nice video lads ! 😁👌
Welcome to the madness that is Springvale margins ! Some days you can catch them easily, and others they will do you dirty all day long.
Small dibber float big bunch dead reds over ground bait or worms
I FISH WITH ALUD YORKSHIRE TYKES WE HAE TWO MATCHES A YEAR ON NEWCASTLE LAKE 1 TO 25
Margin worms over GB or paste is destructive
Matrix has just done a video like this . Why is everyone following suit? ??
Black with carp sounds like a challenge.. not
