There’s noticeable noise in the night shots from Vivo X100 Ultra, especially when zooming in. It definitely has room for improvement in low-light performance.
First of all I want to apologize for not being active recently. I changed my apartment and I had many things going on but I'm back. To begin with the selfie video, both look great but X200 Pro really steps up the game here even though I'd say way worse than Pixel 9 Pro which in my opinion has the best selfie nowadays. How is it possible the X200 Pro performs better in the zoom department when they both have HP9 sensor? I'm glad I didn't buy x100 Ultra to be honest. The x200 Pro looks way better and colors look more true to life and well, way more details. Same story on the portraits, better details, colors, background separation and depths. Shameless that X200 Pro is beating the Ultra but it's a win for us costumers. During night time, the same thing happens as during the daytime, X200 Pro wins almost 95% of the shots. Video wise, what a better improvement on X200 Pro. That light's reflection on the lamp and smaller lamps is almost invisible and also the color grading looks so realistic, closer to an iPhone video. I think this is the best video phone from the Android department. Main camera, even though a downgrade on paper, looks way better in real life. The colors are way better and more details even though it's not a 1inch sensor. Maybe the night performance will be better on X100 Ultra. Also the ultrawide sensor on X200 Pro looks more realistic and more details. Overall, the X200 Pro is a better choice since they have a better screen, camera performance, battery and chipset. Kudos to Mediatek for improving their image computation over the years. Since X200 Pro will be cheaper than X100 Ultra, around 50-100€, I think X200 Pro is a way better choice. I suggest you give us a battery performance feedback and also what the screen on X200 Pro feels like compared to other flagships. I think Pixel 9 Pro XL would be the best choice for photo comparison and iPhone 16 Pro Max for the video comparison. Including both of them vs X200 Pro would be the best choice in my opinion. If you’ve seen my other videos, you’ll know that Vivo X100 Ultra has never truly stood out as a flagship in terms of optimization. While it does have flagship-level hardware, it feels more like a stop-gap product that helped Vivo generate some revenue. Vivo X200 Pro absolutely nailed the dynamic range! The details in both bright and low-light scenes are so impressive. This phone is killing it in camera performance!
Interesting. Honestly, in case of those low light portraits on 3:31, i liked X100 Ultra more in each shot. For whatever reason every low-light portrait looked as if it had motion blur. Also X200 Pro seemed to lack a bit of contrast, and even if X100 Ultra was a bit too warm, X200 Pro colors felt way too cool. Nonetheless it performs well, pretty much in line as i expected. I must say though that i do not like oversharpening that was introduced in X200 Pro, i much preferred the natural look of textures in X100 Pro/Ultra. X200 Pro processing now reminds me very much of Pixels, and i absolutely hate their processing. I do must say however, that this new telephoto is absolutely jaw-dropping. X100 Ultra had already by far the best telephoto of any smartphone on the market. With this improvement, the gap between Samsung and iPhone and them is absolutely enormous. One last complaint: X200 Pro absolutely butchered the red seat in the boat at 1:42. The colors are completely clipped. I really hope they fix it, because that looks horrible.
Does the x200 Pro have an IR blaster? On their website its mentioned on the spec sheet but from what I've seen so far, it's not positioned on the top of the phone. Is it inside the camera module like Xiaomi had last year?
I shudder to think how ruthless the VX200 Ultra will be when it comes out. RIDICULOUSLY GOOD how effortless the VX200 Pro does what it does against what already is currently the best: the VX100 Ultra🤯
strange that the photos on the x100 in the video with the zoom using the periscope are worse than the x200, something doesn't add up to me.... both have the same optics and the same sensor model (Samsung isocell HP9 200mpx) for the periscope 🤔
I think it's a matter of software, I red that Vivo will update de telephoto algorithms on the x100 Ultra so probably the results will be the same because, as you said, both habe the exact same sensor.
