Ca fait cheap indeed! The Guerlain cases you have (and I have at least 20) were all part of the first launch of this style of lipstick from their brand. So, like you, I viewed my cases as an investment. The fact that the new lipsticks won't fit in our existing cases, makes our substantial investment worth zero. Je suis en colere! So I won't buy these new ones. Guerlain has lost my trust. Quite a slap in the face. (But thanks for mentioning Lexi Jong. I just Love her! She is completely authentic and does miles of comparisons for every product she reviews. A personal favorite.). I would love to see a review on the powder foundation from Cle de Peau. As for the YSL eye palettes, Stora Dolls is wonderful. Every shade has a creamy consistency and is long wear. I actually get compliments when I wear it. So I'd love a video on these new colors. As for cooling face powders, I've tried several. They can be nice until the liquid evaporates, then you just have another powder that you might not like that much. @@AllisonChase When the YSL palettes were first released, there was a packaging problem. The quad kept falling out of the compact. Don't know if that's what you're thinking of, but if it is, they fixed it. They literally offered a deep discount, purged their site of those first palettes, then re-issued them. Now the palette quality is fine, and the shadows themselves are the same quality people fell in love with. I recently swatched all of the original quads at Macy's and they were all buttery and blendable. This was a surprise for me. I hated the larger palettes, so never expected the small ones to be so good. Try them in store if you have doubts. I'll be waiting for reviews on the new colors. I'd consider another one if I like the color story. The Stora Dolls palette practically blends itself. So high hopes.
I would watch detailed reviews of the YSL as they have it seems 4 - 5 different formulas in the quads and some have terrible fallout also during the day. I know few people did extremely detailed reviews of the formula and it let me to cross all colours but 2 of my list as I'm not paying luxury for a glittery fallout mess. I own drugstore glitters that last on me all day 😂@@AllisonChase

Anyway, the formula is so soft that it is so easy to blend absolutely beautiful 😍 I still use Nars eyeshadow primer on your recommendation, at least it works. 😊 I haven't tried any products from Haus Labs yet. Ali, thanks for this video. I have 2 Yves Saint Laurent eyeshadow palettes (200 and 300). And I want to say that they are great, really like the quality. Matte shades are my love. for every day - what is needed. I haven't tamed the metallic shades in these palettes - they crumble under the eyes, maybe you should use a brush dipped in setting spray. I would like to see swatches of the 2 new palettes 710 and 800.
I am hopeful that 710 is a better version of 100 stora dolls. I have stora dolls but I'm not 100% in love I'm hoping the the top shade is more satin metallic and not a straight glitter topper like stora dolls and I like that the 2nd top shade is a midtone matt which stora dolls is lacking. I have 100 and 200 and I'm like not 100% in love like everyone else, the texture is beautiful but I just don't love the topper piecey glitter and 710 is a tad less grey then 100 . I also noticed that they don't last on me as well as other shadows they kinda fade fast.
Hmm interesting. Someone else mentioned that there are metallic shades on the YSL quads that flitter away on them. Let’s hope that this is a better formula.
Lexi's review was great. Guerlain doubled the price but the new cases are lighter and cheaper feeling too. The lipsticks are more expensive too. AND yes Guerlain has actually done that before years back. They had a former Rouge line in the 2010s very similar looking w these collectible cases and changed it around 2017 or so??🤔Those cases were not as luxurious

I will not be buying any new Guerlain lipsticks as they don’t fit perfectly into the older cases. You bought the old cases thinking like the rest of us we will continue to be able to use them. It seems to me a money grab. As far as the YSL eyeshadows they’re a non merci for me. The shades are nothing special, in my opinion. Plus, I didn’t really like the packaging used for their last release and the fallout I got was horrendous. I’ve since decluttered them. There have been a few powders that contained water and were cooling. I remember my mother had one made by the old brand, Prescriptives. The other I remember was from BECCA. I never used either one. I did try the Makeup by Mario liquid bronzer and I’m going back to purchase! I love that you can use it many ways. My Sephora didn’t have the new Haus Labs blush out. Two of the sales associates had different opinions. One said she didn’t like that she had to build it up too much to get the color depth she wanted and if she tried to apply the product directly to her made up face it lifted her foundation. The other said she put it first on her hand and then picked it up with a brush to build up the intensity. She applied it in a patting motion. Both agreed that once it was on it didn’t really look glossy and didn’t look greasy. I don’t think this is for me.😊

I bought the original Rouge G Lipstick over a decade ago when it was only a red shade. The case shape was the same always. This change of case design is very disappointing and wasteful. I gotta say it makes me angry. It’s pointless.
It’s not nice they do that about Guerlain… the only case I ever bought is from Carolina Herrera….you know with a charm etc… and do I actually use it?? Nope… fills up my bag to much 😅

I had my eye on YSL 100 Stora dolls, did not get round to buying it yet, but now that new one, 710, makes me wonder wich is best. Curious to see your review if you do decide to get it. Or If you get a chance to see them next to each other in store I would love to hear your opinion.
With Guerlain it already happened, around 8 years ago when they first started to sell separately lipstick refills and different cases to choose from (before there was no such option, rouge g lipstick initially included a standard case and that’s why the original lipstick was very expensive), by the way there was also a reformulation of that lipstick back then. And the previous standard cases didn’t fit the new reformulated lipsticks, so buying a new reformulated lipstick you had to buy their new cases. It seems that now is happening the same story, helas 🤷♀️

And now they’re changing the formula (when they do, colours also don’t remain exactly the same), so now I’m definitely not pleased with what there’re doing, especially with those cases. So sad :(
I feel betrayed by Guerlain. I have collected the cases as treasured heirlooms and now when the lipstick is finished, the case must be disposed of. How sustainable is that? My husband loves buying me these for a sentimental gift and that pleasure is spoiled now.

With the YSL quads, it's such a velvet mousse formula that I am not sure that the darkest shades won't be too dark for the majority of skin tones. For a quad I don't one one shade to be liner only. There needs to be some range in depth but not sure this isn't overdone. Yes, you should get medium in the MBM bronzer.
That is so fair. Some people mentioned that the YSL quad have metallic shades that fade away. I wonder if these new quads will have an improvement on that front?
I am interested in the new Armani powder, because I love the Luminous Silk powder! Ive never understand why Chantecaille's Perfect Blur gets all the hype when GA's is similar but better - and less expensive!

Interesting that the CdP powder foundation has a brush instead of a puff or pad. I like that since the puffs absorb oil and transfer it back to the pan. I have oily skin and live in San Antonio where summers are very hot and humid. A powder foundation is something I like to have in my purse and I don’t always remember to take out the puff to clean it. I am such a Guerlain fan so the lipstick case change is disappointing, but to be honest it won’t stop me from buying from the brand. A big NON MERCI to the Haus Labs lip and cheek sticks. I shine enough on my own and imagine my hair would stick to it.
I think that the CDP brush is interesting too. Perhaps this means that it'll be lighter and more blurring? Those sponge applicators tend to be heavier and caky in application.
Hi Allison, I don’t have any Guerlain lipstick with the old case. My favourite are their lip balms.😍 I can imagine it’s annoying for people who collect the previous version. But for comparison when Cle de Peau came out with the new eyeshadows nobody complained about it despite the fact they don’t fit in the old cases. Except the new Armani powder everything else is a no merci for me. But is the powder is made in China like the new bronzers will be a no merci as well. I am not exiting at all about the skincare infusion in makeup products. I think it’s just a way to justify the higher price and totally unnecessary. Plus in some cases can cause problems to people with sensitive/reactive skin. Thanks for sharing!🙂 P.S. I feel you with the mortgage payment. I live in Sydney, Australia and my mortgage is sky rocket now.😩

Good evening from Ontario. I had watched a blog earlier today about the Makeup by Mario Bronzing and Shaping serum. She is Latino and I think she bought the medium shade and at first thought it was a bit too yellow, but after she blended it and set everything will powder etc she was happy with her choice. Thanks for your critiques. You look lovely with that makeup.
I love the "ça fait cheap" addition - to add to the Québécois-French lesson, if it looks REAAAL cheap and if you're a bûcheron like me, you might want to add a "en esti" at the end of it once in a while. Guerlain deserves it on this one!!! LOL gosh, I feel for both the customers and the beauty advisors who spent so much time trying to convince people to spend money on those lipsticks and cases by saying how long they'll be able to use them for.
Going by my makeup by Mario products you may need the next shade darker. Some of my absolute favourite products are from him being the skin enhancer and I believe that this will be somewhat similar to that. I also really love his bronzing powder, I bought it accidentally once and I use it more than any of my others so I can’t wait to see your review on the new product 😊 The green shadow looks fabulous on you!

Hi Alli, I purchased one of the new lipstick cases by Guerlain this week at Saks in NYC. I purchased two of the newly released lipsticks which fit the new cases as well. The SA told me in no uncertain terms that Guerlain has discontinued the previous Rouge G lipsticks. They do not fit into the new smaller lipstick cases…. I do like the smaller more lightweight cases! I carry small handbags as a rule especially for evenings out. The new lipstick cases fit beautifully into the smaller handbags! And they are absolutely gorgeous! I bought the case with all of the crystals on it!! Gorgeous !!
@@AllisonChase yes i have the loose one in transparent and a palette with 4 pressed colours. I’ve got balanced skin but it doesn’t quite set my makeup for long like Hourglass, Chanel or Givenchy Prism Libre. It might suit people with dry skin better than me😊

That is so fair. Some people mentioned that the YSL quad have metallic shades that fade away. I wonder if these new quads will have an improvement on that front?

Interesting that the CdP powder foundation has a brush instead of a puff or pad. I like that since the puffs absorb oil and transfer it back to the pan. I have oily skin and live in San Antonio where summers are very hot and humid. A powder foundation is something I like to have in my purse and I don’t always remember to take out the puff to clean it.
I am such a Guerlain fan so the lipstick case change is disappointing, but to be honest it won’t stop me from buying from the brand.
A big NON MERCI to the Haus Labs lip and cheek sticks. I shine enough on my own and imagine my hair would stick to it.
I think that the CDP brush is interesting too. Perhaps this means that it'll be lighter and more blurring? Those sponge applicators tend to be heavier and caky in application.

I don’t have any Guerlain lipstick with the old case. My favourite are their lip balms.😍 I can imagine it’s annoying for people who collect the previous version. But for comparison when Cle de Peau came out with the new eyeshadows nobody complained about it despite the fact they don’t fit in the old cases.
Except the new Armani powder everything else is a no merci for me. But is the powder is made in China like the new bronzers will be a no merci as well.
I am not exiting at all about the skincare infusion in makeup products. I think it’s just a way to justify the higher price and totally unnecessary. Plus in some cases can cause problems to people with sensitive/reactive skin.

Good evening from Ontario. I had watched a blog earlier today about the Makeup by Mario Bronzing and Shaping serum. She is Latino and I think she bought the medium shade and at first thought it was a bit too yellow, but after she blended it and set everything will powder etc she was happy with her choice. Thanks for your critiques. You look lovely with that makeup.

I love the "ça fait cheap" addition - to add to the Québécois-French lesson, if it looks REAAAL cheap and if you're a bûcheron like me, you might want to add a "en esti" at the end of it once in a while. Guerlain deserves it on this one!!! LOL gosh, I feel for both the customers and the beauty advisors who spent so much time trying to convince people to spend money on those lipsticks and cases by saying how long they'll be able to use them for.
Oh my gosh can you imagine? I feel so bad for all the Guerlain SAs right now getting all the heat at the counters.

Going by my makeup by Mario products you may need the next shade darker.
Some of my absolute favourite products are from him being the skin enhancer and I believe that this will be somewhat similar to that.
I also really love his bronzing powder, I bought it accidentally once and I use it more than any of my others so I can’t wait to see your review on the new product 😊

Hi Alli, I purchased one of the new lipstick cases by Guerlain this week at Saks in NYC. I purchased two of the newly released lipsticks which fit the new cases as well. The SA told me in no uncertain terms that Guerlain has discontinued the previous Rouge G lipsticks. They do not fit into the new smaller lipstick cases…. I do like the smaller more lightweight cases! I carry small handbags as a rule especially for evenings out. The new lipstick cases fit beautifully into the smaller handbags! And they are absolutely gorgeous! I bought the case with all of the crystals on it!! Gorgeous !!

@@AllisonChase yes i have the loose one in transparent and a palette with 4 pressed colours. I’ve got balanced skin but it doesn’t quite set my makeup for long like Hourglass, Chanel or Givenchy Prism Libre. It might suit people with dry skin better than me😊
