Even though I rarely read these kind of books I enjoyed your video chat as always. Thanks. I envy how you can enjoy both 'commercial fiction' as well as 'literary fiction'. I find it impossible to get into almost all 'commercial fiction'. I get queasy reading cheesy writing or enduring corny plot twists. I would probably only be able to accept that doppelganger thing, for example, if it was some kind of metaphor or the rest of the book was exceptional writing. But I love to be kept up to date with all this stuff anyway.
Thank you, it means a lot that you'll watch a video of mine without actually enjoying the kinds of books I'm talking about because I know i only do that with a select few booktubers that I follow! I know the queasy/annoying feeling you mean regarding commercial fiction and the often terrible writing. It's the reason why the vast majority of my reading is literary! 😁
You’re becoming one of my favourite booktubers! I love that you give a lot of information and context without giving the plot away and you read a wide variety of books! I picked up Kala and Age of Vice a few months back but still haven’t gotten the chance to read them. Going to bump it up to my January TBR :)
If you have access to BBC IPLAYER, you can see an adaptation of The Dublin Murder Squad. It was made in association with BBC N.Ireland & RTE. I also wanted to tell you about a great book I finished on Friday night. The Road to Dalton It’s a debut and it’s very good. ☘️👋🍀🇮🇪📚📖☕️📕
When I started this video I was thinking please please please don't say Verity and then what did you go and do? I still love your videos. But you are absolutely completely totally wrong about Verity. Thank you as always, dear Charlotte. Happy Bookmas! P.S. I love your top.
😂😂😂 Is it the trashy element of Verity you don't like? Unfortunately it was the perfect level of trash after the disappointment of the Booker reading I had done in Q3! 🤣🤮 Happy bookmas! 🎅🏻And it's actually a shirt dress, one of my faves, thanks for noticing! 😁
@@charlottemolloy I'm really glad Verity worked for you. I found it horrible in every way. Bad plot. Bad characters. Too much boring sex. A waste of my time. Many people had the opposite opinion, and that's part of what makes reading such an interesting part of life.
Because the likeness is the closest thing I have found to the secret history in all my years of searching for another book like it... Big milestone and I know other fans of TSH are also looking for books like it
"Age of Vice" starts very strong and unfortunately the libary forced me to return it before I could finish it. Will def pick it up again!

Why are you comparing Secret History but Tart to the Likeness by French
