You better fix that rad support. Too much leaning on the fenders without an uncut rad support and the fenders will quickly start to sag, especially with no inner fenders. Trust me haha
I love your YTshorts. But this was a real treat! She has that sinister look, and sound. There's just something about a 55.. So BAD ASS! Throw shims at the starter, could be it's binding a little. Can't wait for the next video!
The '57-'64 Olds/Pontiacs in stock form are quite stronger than than the 9" since they're all nodular cases aside from the few aluminum ones from '63. Only nodular cases Ford had were the Daytonas. Ring gear bolts are smaller dia. than Ford's but w/12 vs Ford's 10 bolts, there is still more bolt area holding the ring. Fabcraft in Texas are 9.3 Olds/Pontiac Specialists.
crank the motor first before flipping the magneto toggle switch on also, the plug gap has to be 18 thousanths of an inch, the more the motor revs the more voltage it puts out. The rear end is a 57/64 olds pontiac 9.25 ring gear it was the hot setup back then but parts are tough to get today
Cranking before flipping the switch on is new to us! Thanks! We have the plugs gapped to .018. The P/O 9.3 will be making a comeback in the future. Parts are hard to get but not impossible!
I never use those plastic/nylon oil pressure tubing. Nothing but a mess & headache waiting to happen. Was the old motor locked up? Besides the high compression & temperamental fuel injection. Looked cool
It was a leisurely 1-2 shift. After investigating it, Mr Gene broke the rear end years ago. The ring gear had 1 bolt left that hadn’t been sheared off. If that car had made one more trip back to the staging lanes in ‘69, he’d have found out.
Love these long episodes. You guys deserve so much more views and subs.
Thanks so much!
Roe for the win! This is an awesome build. Keep it up boys!
He’s our hero! Thanks, John!
Nice 55! Another great video!
Appreciate it man! See you at Famoso!
Frickin exciting I'm playing catch up on the vids

Thanks for watching! It’s just an old starter, the audio in the video made it sound weird, it’s pretty dialed! Hope you enjoy what’s to come!
I just rewatched when you bought this from Mr Gene! Such a cool car
Thanks for watching!
Always bleed wheel furtherest away first
Always replace rubber brake lines(I learned the hard way.)
Yeahhh we know. Cutting corners never cuts anything but more time off your life. We’ll learn!
What a blast guys, can't wait till next time.
We should take this thing racing! 🤔
Oh hell yes guys!! Been waiting for this one! And on that note, I'll watch when I get home from work lol.
Thanks for watching!

I don't know what anyone one else thought but that test drive was so intense for me. I thought you were going to run off or bounce off the road! 😂😂
10000% how we were feeling

@@rodknockranch Last time I checked Mark Williams had Gears spools and Axles
That’s the best damn 4 speed ever made
Almost. It’s an m20.
@@rodknockranch 20,21,&22 are the best😁
We use to pull the front clip off to change engines. two bolts on each side two bolts under radiator support and the front clip is off
This ep is the cats bananas
😂😂🤙🏻

😂😂😂 watching you drive with small steering wheel & wide front tires.
We haven’t gone into it to find out yet. It wasn’t locked. That nylon line is a scam, but we keep buying it 😂.
That thing was a handful
Them cams always sound wicked, but make low end go far away.
This is definitely an out the back door engine. Loves RPM.
Kind of blows my mind how Mr. Gean been drag racing that car, all those years, you dumped the clutch one time and blows the rear end out of it....

@@rodknockranch gotcha still a bad ass car though no doubt it's a handful now but you'll get it dialed in
I would’ve had to of run that original motor. Mechanical fuel injection and all
It’ll be back. Short on time.
It's the purple LS eater
I like it!
Close or check the point gap on the mag and you better run a tight plug gap. Like 10 or 15 thou.
Thanks for the tips! We're running a .018 gap on the plugs
@rodknockranch your welcome. A mag will generate more power the faster it turns vs a distributor
Show us the road when you are test driving please
We always try to, tough to get an outside angle when just the two of us! The car broke before we could get the shots we wanted.
It’s probably got 5:13 gears
4.88
Don't let the safety guys at the drags ,,see that plastic house line!! That's a big NO NO drag racing
We ended up having to change it to the copper line shortly after filming this!
Broke a axel
