Me too, not necessarily because I liked Frank that much whereas I understand he had health problems such as a bad back and likely an alcoholic from what I’ve heard and picked up from the show where you could easily pickup tensions between Mike and Frank during filming. Nonetheless, if they were his friends they would or should have made sure he received the help and treatment he needed verses stabbing him in the back by preventing him from returning to the show after his spine surgery and recovery! It’s not like they couldn’t have covered the show without him until he recovered, but who knows what alls that’s happened that could have been much more than any of us will ever see or know about! Either way, I hope them all luck in their future journeys apart and maybe Mike’s head will stop swelling up while looking out for number one after his divorce and now with his new love.
Danielle use to be a pleasure to watch on the show during its early years. But let’s be honest, as the show grew so did Danielle’s ego. She went from being cute, fun and endearing to a smug, mean, egotistical and legit overbearing. The show went straight off the cliff after they screwed Frank and he was no longer on the show. The moral of the story when it came to this very scripted show is this: Don’t get too big for your own britches. Especially when most of the show is manufactured, fake and scripted. Believing in your own hype was this not so reality show’s downfall. Good riddance

So, people have actually made their vacation plans to visit Iowa and Las Vegas and expect to hang with the Pickers and Pawn Stars and get very disappointed. Yes, people still get that wrapped up in characters that they see on TV.

I assure the entire show is scripted and have seen a video where people they purchased from talked about how they were ask what to say, where items were located, etc. It’s all scripted just like any other television program.
I quit watching this show ten years or more. It got boring because it was rehearsed. Danielle was a pretty girl when it began, then she became a tattoo advertisement.
I could tell there was tension between Mike and Frank way before Mike and the show producers, etc. decided to stab him in the back. I’m sure Frank had his problems such as drinking to much I presume was a lot of the problems, however he deserved the chance to rehab, recover, and return to his position in the show. I simply don’t believe in kicking someone when they are down and I’ve elected to stop watching the show once I learned Frank was shafted by those he likely trusted!

Mike & Frank often didn't buy tons of things they could have filled the van with. Therefore I believe that it is a program with "PLANTED" items. The prices paid are probably arranged before hand. Who owned the shop. Were they business partners & shared the expenses & profits. It doesn't appear so. If so the one who owned the shop & business had every right to split. I had a stall on Bermondsey Market in London & sold a lot of gear to the shops that sold the sort of stuff we looked for. Take this program with a pinch of salt.
They FAILED to mention that DANIELLE is DEEPLY in debt to the IRS for not paying taxes on her salon. This news came as a SHOCK to me since insm a fan of her part in thr show. She aledgedly found many of the places the cousins visited. I realize a lot of the show is fake but I waa still a fan. This story is incomplete for its title. The title only came up the last one minute of the doc.

I read all of this earlier. When I heard it was staged I quit watching although I already suspected this. It was on obvious and I don't care for that. I also new everything was staged. that as well pushed me away. Most of us new Daniel wasn't going to stay also. It's a garbage show as far as I am concerned.

He was asked to be part of the Canadian Biker Build Off a few years ago which is like the American Biker Build Off, where they take 2-4 bike builders, give them a short time frame and they build customs which are taken to an event and voted on as to who had the best build. When the camera crew came to his shop, they asked him to pick up a hammer and throw it in anger. He said, "I wouldn't normally do that, why would I do it now? It'll make me look stupid". Their response "It'll make for good TV!". I never suspected American Pickers was fake, but I liked it because there really wasn't the anger and heavier drama associated with other shows. After hearing about my buddies experience and the uncovering of Pickers, it really caused me to think. I also had another buddy who build custom cars and was on the reality show Vegas Rat Rods for a few seasons after winning a contest to be on the show. I've never asked him much about his experience, other than how they got such wild creations on the road so I'll have to ask him about this facet about that show!
Hopefully most people have figured out by now that " reality tv " shows aren't REAL.... Obviously 2 guys driving around aimlessly hoping to strike gold in someones old barn would never really happen. Add in the collection of unique people they visited and their stories made for good, clean entertainment. But I quit watching when Frank left the show because the chemistry was gone for me.

It's the history and facts about certain pieces they come across which I find really interesting. So whether it's a "placed" item or an actual discovered hidden treasure. I still like the show. I had a buddy who was on the Canadian Biker Build Off, who clued me in to how some scenes are staged as some people like the drama. They asked him to pickup and throw a hammer out of anger as it made for good TV. He refused as that wasn't him in real life. Danielle is Incredible! You just make up crap that is not real. She is amazing as a human being. She has grown into a grown, smart, independent woman, who can handle herself well. She will always be one of the coolest people on the plant and will be her friend forever!
