my first ever game console was the gameboy color, I don't really know where my original one came from, but eventually my mother got rid of it, saying I never played on it, in reality it was sat in a cupboard and she never got new batteries for it, so I couldn't really play on it anyway, nor could I keep it with me in my room for whatever reason. anyway, years later, while looking through the retro games stall in the indoor market, I saw it. it almost certainly isn't my original childhood gameboy, but it was the same color so I choose to believe it is. and since then I've been looking out for the games I had as a kid, one of which I found on ebay. the only copy being sold in england of mr nutz for the gameboy. the music alone on that game is enough to justify buying it on the spot. especially with it being an obscure game, while it almost certainly isn't my original childhood copy, I'd like to believe it is. and honestly hearing the music again after so many years, I genuinely cried.
Something you said at the very end is so very true. Having children makes you look at many things very differently. Especially watching children open gifts and getting excited and things like that. Also one thing I noticed it a drive different after having my boys. Much more cautiously. Anyway, great video. Loved it and I hope you 3 all feel better soon.
A lovely nostalgic Retro Show is like taking a soothing warm bath whilst talking to friends on a video link. Soothing voices and gentle humour are just what we Stone Age people need.

Fun fact, Terminator 1 went 40. I'm 40+, have T1 on Laserdisc, VHS, DVD and Blu Ray Remastered ... and have never seen it 🙂Since about 20 years, I want to watch it, and never seems to be the best and right time. Hopefully all the time waiting is worse it ^^

One of the best half hours of TV. About the same age so remember all the stuff fondly, Elite in the BBC is 40 years old this year absolutely scary. In a age where I watch very little actual terrestrial TV here in Scotland. I do enjoy watching episodes of some of my fav’s on Utube. It’s actually not Christmas without your holiday special now. The internet is crazy you can find the original pilot episodes of TV shows of your childhood. I actually watched the very first Starsky and Hutch the other night, the pilot episode. 😂
Today I learned that the writer for Renee and Renato's "Save your love" was also the creator of Metal Mickey.

Funnily enough, Tomy is also the company that built a softball-sized spherical robot that the Japanese space agency JAXA launched to the moon recently. And it actually worked well enough to roll around and take a picture of their lander which fell over after landing and flipped upside down, so in a way they toy company did a better job than the real rocket scientists!

Shame on you for making Ladyfractic cry! But to be honest, seeing that kid get the PS5, then the realization on his face, then him crying could make anyone go cut onions. Back if by a hammered dulcimer track and let the tears flow.
Rich Mullins was a Christian musician in the 80s and 90s, who tragically passed away in 1997 in a car crash, did a couple songs with a hammered dulcimer. Hearing it in a pop song with that instrument in it is truly extraordinary.

I had a V6 Cougar for a while here in the UK, and converted it from Ford spec back to Mercury to use alongside my Toyota MR2 Mk1. Sadly the head gasket went, so the car was sold (but it seems that is still exists). Sadly the MR2 (the closest I got to owning a KITT car) was flattened by a Volvo soon after when parked outside a shop.

I love the material y'all cover in your videos covering each stage of technology like cellular, Faxes, Early Computing, and latter computing. Which leads me to the question maybe you have it but I have not seen it yet but I was wondering if you can start covering some things and maybe the actual thing I am talking about Tandy computing and specifically my 1st computer I bought in 1985 when I was 22 a Tandy 1000. This went to battle against the XT Clones and PC Jr and destroyed them all in my opinion because of the special Tandy Graphics and Sound Modes. The Tandy 1000 has some of the best fans and Memories for so many in the mid 80s throught the late 90's. Thanks Fractics and God Bless Y'all.

No, that clip is from 2019, episode S3 E14. I just went on amazon video and checked, I remember watching it years ago. Thats from when the original show ended, they continued on doing just specials for a few seasons, now those are probably ending as well and that´s what the article is about but that clip is old. I got really sad when I saw that Star Wars video from the “There I Ruined It” UA-cam channel. A few months ago, There I Ruined It got hit by TONS of copyright claims by idiot companies who don’t believe in fair use. It got copyright claimed pretty much into oblivion to a point where the owner couldn’t even begin to defend himself. There I Ruined It was one of my favorite UA-cam channels. It’s a crime that it’s gone. Or more accurately had every single video removed with no hope of them returning.
Oh wow I had no idea. Still alive and well on other networks though. If I were them, I would use the option the copyright system gives to appeal the strikes, and take it all the way to court if they lose the appeal. Their work is absolutely 100% the epitome of Fair Use Law as it pertains to "remixes and mashups". Zero question whatsoever. Ironically, our use of their work also falls under Fair Use, for "commentary" (showing a clip then talking about it and reacting to it), so I hope the publicity we give them helps drive much needed additional support their way... maybe even a No Win No Fee copyright lawyer 🙏

Thanks to inspiration from you, I'm also trying to recreated my childhood computer setup. I just purchased a NEVER BEEN USED, IN THE BOX CoCo 2 and found a near mint Tandy DMP-133, which was my first printer that I got for the CoCo back for my tenth birthday in 1991. Shipping damaged one of the paper trays, unfortunately, but now the big question is: do I open the CoCo 2 or keep it in the box and just sub in my already-opened CoCo 3? ;)
T-Mo has been threatening to shut down the last 2G GSM network in the US for some time, and has issued several ultimatums (ultimatae?). The latest was April 2 2024, but they've blinked _again_. I probably should get out the beloved Nokia N900 and N9 for some glamour shots before that happens, so thanks for the idea!

Someone should make a one G and 2G hotspot that bridges between these old phones and four and 5G systems we have now, so you don’t have to upgrade to a smart phone
I totally agree and have been sewing seeds to try to hopefully encourage someone. I think it should be possible. Ultimately at its simplest it would involve translating audio from one digital format to a different one, then transmitting it with a small local Wi-Fi router sized antenna.
That might be difficult. Part of the motivation for shutting them down is to free up spectrum and any such bridge could easily interfere with anything that spectrum is used for, and the powers that be are understandably not fans of service disruption. I fear those earlier devices are only going to be usable in shielded rooms.
Fair, but if it's just a local bridge, like one you keep in your closet or pocket, I can't imagine it will be any worse than a toaster interfering with your garage door. It doesn't need to be particularly powerful to work, just needs to have an effective radius of about a meter.
