Thanks for that "numbering system 1-9, 1-5" at the end. I'm in an apartment, and I had my fridge set to its highest setting (5) for the past 2 years, but just last month, I turned it down to (4), in an attempt to save on my power bill a bit. But after watching this, I'm going to bring it down even more, to (3) instead, and save even a tiny bit more. 😊
I live in an apartment, and my fridge died. They replaced it by giving me the fridge from another apartment that was vacant. I set the fridge to the highest setting --- the coldest setting --- and it took 15 hours to get below 40 degrees. When I woke up this morning at like 4:00 AM it was at 32 degrees. But as the day went on it began fluctuating up to 45, and seems to have settled at 40. 40 does not feel cold enough to me. So here is my question: Does 40 degrees sound like the right temperature for a fridge that is set at its coldest level? Should I be able to get it below 40 degrees with the coldest setting?
ideally, fridge just above freezing, and freezer just below freezing. make sure not to block the fan that is blowing air from the freezer to the fridge.
Mine is set at 37’ and it freezes my vegetables 🥗 and plastic soda bottles=Slurpee It’s a New Whirlpool fridge with the 🧊 ice maker in with the fridge and the freezer is separate on the bottom drawer. Why is this happing. 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks
+BillDaBurgerEater: not sure if he mentioned that but, since I bought my sweet freezer over a year ago and I am super happy with it and have no issues wse and it's 'much' better than the old damn freezer....never again!.
Why do manufactures need to have their own system to set temp. 0-9, 0-5 etc. Is it to straight forward for their lizzard brains to just have f or c temperature settings?
I had this problem too. Found a video on youtube. Basically, I took out the water filter and saw the connection had ice. Broke/melted the ice on the filter and that fixed it right up

Thank you but luckily I had it set to 38 and 0. Everyone knows a freezer should be 0 but wasn't quite sure about the fridge now I have peace of mind 🤙
I noticed when you pressed 0 it didn’t stay to zero. What do we do to lock it the the specific temperature we want?
How do I find the answer too that question ?
Is a refrigerator surge protector necessary?

approximately 38F to 42F degrees is the safe zone for most food in a fridge, so he is right on the money.

40 degrees, folks.
Well I didn’t expect voice made for radio from a Keith there. I think someone might announce for the local football team. 👍😃
You should probably buy a new radio.
Heidi Pykkonen why doesn't it stay on o.
Great I changed both at the same time 😅
Freezer should be -10-0F and fridge should be 33-40F. Don't go by the numbers on the dial, buy a fridge/freezer thermometer.
my GE refrigerator, is making ice all over the place on the frezer, ,I don't know wahat to do, the settings are 0 on frezer and 37 on frig

The Energy star program got us to the unreliable imported appliances that we have today. It's almost like it was intentional.
