    This video just inspired my 6 year old son, Rhythm, who has Ehlers-Danlos. He said, "WOW! With lots of practice, I could do THAT!" Thanks, Lil Buck!

    • @r.fairlie7186

      Hi, like your son, I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I'd counsel you both to ensure that he has a good physical therapist who understands EDS (Hypermobility Type). I'm sure that Lil Buck already has one. I started having problems in my early 40's but was undiagnosed until 64. Back then I was unaware of all the micro-injuries that were painless at the time, or the significance of my diffuse osteoarthritis. My dance passion was Cuban style. Some dancers with EDS don't seem to suffer a lot (Fred Astaire had the obvious inverted triangle facial features - wide-spaced eyes and distinct, narrower chin. So did the amazing Nicholas Brothers, whose "Stormy Weather" dance routine Fred believed to be the best dance performance ever filmed.) On that note, in agreement with all the others here, Fred Astaire would only allow one cameraman with a single camera to film his dance sequences. He rightly said that this is how the human eyes and brain perceive a performance. All the editing that we see these days makes me wonder if those cameramen have ADHD.

    The dancer is fantastic, but the cameras and editing are horrible. Every time they change angles or focus on a single part of the body we miss the whole fluidity of his movements. Nevertheless, congrats Lil Buck, amazing job!

    • @pierceb2105
      @pierceb2105 6 років тому +3

      Yeah exactly right. Jookin' (and a lot of other dance styles) rely so much on tricking the brain into seeing something that doesn't look possible (such as gliding/moonwalk etc). For the camera to be zoomed into one specific part, you miss out on the illiusion of what the dancer is portraying.

    Live on the west coast but love the jookin style. Alot of the dubstep is jookin but yet still stay two different styles. Would love to see jookin vs dubstep on a more broad scene. Lil Buck a monster in jookin but he got alot of West coast flavor also.

      Hamesh Shahani - This is exactly why Fred Astaire insisted that he be filmed by just one cameraman. He knew that this is how the human brain views a dancer so it’s the best way for us to absorb and appreciate this wonderful art form. Fred would have loved Lil Buck.

  • @gromlek8327
    @gromlek8327 7 років тому +3

    Loved the dancing, hated the camera work. The man's whole body was the show, didn't need close-ups which cut out more of the performance than it emphasized.

  • @neeleen
    @neeleen 7 років тому +5

    There are probably worse camera people, so i dont want to say "this is the worst camera work ever." But this is Lil Buck you were going to tape. Civilized thought would prevent neglecting his feet for a frustrating amount of time. Is there a more considerate copy of this dance somewhere else? I apologise to the camera ppl for hurt feelings, but they must know they effed up.

  • @kennethokoduwa198

    I learnt from the king of pop don't dance with tight jeans on. Michael Jackson's best dance moves came in performances that he wore lose clothing like the smooth criminal and Billie Jean. In performances where he wore tight clothing like I'm Bad and Beat it, although nicely choreographed, wasn't as epic as where he wore lose clothing because the lose clothing allowed for more room to explore and he didn't feel constrained not to mention the outward display of the outfit. I guess what i'm trying to say is for lil Buck the white t works cause it's lose but the tight skinny Jeans is a no! no! especially in a once in a life time event like this.

      wholly33 please fix up the grammar a little.
      are you saying that dance is bad then and is only something to be done on the streets?

    • @andreandrews6237
      @andreandrews6237 10 років тому +2

      wholly33 "taking credit for it"? I read this aloud and noticed how ignorant it sounded. Buck isn't "taking credit" for inventing anything or revolutionizing a form of dance, he's doing exactly what the song said which is expressing himself the only way he knows how. This is a TED convention, some of the most educated and well respected individuals speak at these seminars so there goes you whole "move more toward education" comment. Lastly, maybe you should "move more toward education" as you're lacking a bit in the grammar department. That is all
