The first german motorway (autobahn) was a 4 lane undivided one... the modern "classic" model of motorways are divided into two cariageways, but thats not a prerequisite for the title.

Motorway A9 is 230 km (140 mi) long and runs through Alps. 6 of total 30 tunnels have 2 lanes only (length 23 km).
Those tunnels are so good. I just love tunnels.
