Pursuing life goals with “relentless determination”: I wonder what would be their views when observing groups of neurodivergent folks in similar settings? I ask as someone with ADHD and Autism. It would be an interesting comparison, lol. Everyone sitting around doing their own thing, some actively procrastinating, looking at phones, etc., then a sudden huge effort to accomplish a task successfully at the very last moment! 😂
If you just focus on our parties and backyard barbecues with all of the different mind altering substances we consume, yeah, it could look like we've devolved rather than evolved. But compare that side by side with our organized sports activities. Soccer, hockey, basketball; activities that stress teamwork aimed at scoring goals with the same intensity as an organized hunt. Football and rugby; ritualized combat aimed at scoring a goal instead of killing each other. Marathons, triathlons, bicycle races; all throwbacks to the same endurance that was once used to hunt, now an organized competition to see who is best. Yeah, we do some stupid shit, but don't ever underestimate us. The capabilities are still there, hidden just under the surface until they're actually needed.👹☠️💀
@baul997 Yep. Any time you take something out of context you're going to be wrong. But, at least the story showed them "flipping the switch". In spite of being faced, they were able to adapt and coordinate when necessary. So that was a good thing. Or was it a bad thing? I'm not sure. It did have the downside of tipping off the researchers that our inane clutzyness might be a form of natural camouflage.🤔
@@baul997 Actually, I didn't think it was that badly written. How many times in real life have you seen people taking things out of context, only to end up embarrassed?😂
Well, after all the other great and funny stories, we were due some cumupance 😂
