Absolutely beautiful country and the best craftsmanship I ever witnessed. The entire video production was one of the best I have ever seen..thank you so much for taking us along with you. You truly are a mans man in every sense of the word..I only wish you would do an hour or so long production because I watch your production's on my 70 inch smart tv with a huge bowl of popcorn and an ice cold beer !!! Thanks for sharing brother !!!! Keith The Alabama Bushcrafter
You believe in euophemism good to know the way you ve enthralled the readers. . . That sounds your positive persona........ Lastly I would say why one get entagled and bear the sufferings in such cold season
Thank you for this. As I started watching, my woman was going on about COVID and the new restrictions, and I was pretty stressed out. It took me a while to calm myself ....I think after the cooking part of the video I started to relax . The Kuksa carving was awesome, and the scenic ending shots. Great video, and thanks again.
Thanks so much for another 26 minutes of therapy. A little "intestinal fortitude" to overcome a rock wall, a really tasting looking pasta dish and an awesome carved cup. The tent looked impressive...I need to look into something like that. Until next time - Thanks again for taking me....us away from the daily BS. Nice job. Take care.
Another phenomenal video! Your stool and the cup was awesome to watch you make. I want a fry pan and a kettle like you have...love them both! Like how you always take your carving tools and the scotch eyed auger. You are the epitome of bushcraft/primitive camping! The different shots you took the time to shoot is outstanding. The rock facade is one example...how many people would have climbed up and down as many times as you did to take that awesome shot of you scaling and hoisting your pack up. I just can’t say enough good things about your videos. I’ll try and sum it up...YOU ROCK??!! lol thanks again for sharing. Many blessings and take care friend, Nikki. 👍👍 two thumbs all the way
Non riesco a capire perché in Italia non fanno così, almeno dove sono io. Solo caccia & gente che fa canoa o pesca.. Mai vista il backpacking over night here, do they do it in your area?
It never gets old, I really look forward to each and every one of your short movies! I can smell the crispness in the air and the taste of that pine needle tea.
Another awesome video! The camp stool was very clever. Sometimes a piece of wood just tells you what it's supposed to be, and you just have to go with it. I figure seeing that branch gave you one of those "eureka!" moments like that. The kuksa turned out great! If I'm out in the woods, I try and do as much shaping and carving as I can before cutting it out of the log or branch (as you did). It's just way more stable and easier to hold steady if you don't have a vice or clamp of some sort. Glad to see I'm not the only one! The Auger and gimlet sure are worth their weight for Bushcrafting. I think it gets overlooked in many people's kit because the electric drill is familiar and the de facto tool for most people, so hand boring tools are completely off their radar. I carry an Irwin brand MicroDial expansive bit (bore size is adjustable from 5/8"up to 3") and an 18" bit extension that I use with a chuck for an auger brace with a scotch eye welded to the shaft. That, and a gimlet can sure come in very handy! What made you decide on the tent this trip? I'm looking at different zehltban/lavvu type shelters and was curious to know your thoughts on them and how they compare to a tent. Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
right! what better vice than being attached to the log itself! I took this tent because I need more lightweight, and I knew the temps were going to be both over freezing and far down as -15C during this trip. Im so tired of things getting wet and I wanted something with a floor. And its weird that in the bushcraft world there is some kind of common agreement we are supposed to use tarps and lavvus LOL. Everybody else going to the woods, who is hiking more than just staying in one spot roasting some hot dogs, use tents. So many things is trends these days. I love my lavvu... its the most versatile piece of fabric ever. sure but walking very far in tuff terrain like i did this time, it would have been horrible with a heavy piece of canvas.
Classic Swedwoods video. . .thank you for your efforts and sharing. Climbing the cliff for us just to climb back down to get your camera is much appreciated. Nice work!

Since I live far from true wilderness it's been a while since I did camping like this. Nice to have youtube as a substitute. The only thing missing is the smell.
what's so enjoyable about these videos is the natural sounds and the seeming emersion in the process that allows you to leave your self awareness behind, you can just flow with the progress of the task at hand and sometimes just stop and watch the smoke..its like Zen meditation. .
Were the evergreen needles for filtering your coffee grinds? Enjoying your vids. here in Southern U.S. We had some snow flurries and refreshing arctic air today.
Hey my friend. Interesting you should ask that after this particular outing. I can admit that most of the times you are out in the woods its really hard actually. People think its all a wonderful garden of eden but... its 70% hell and 30% bliss. But those 30 % is what makes you come back. What was new this time is I felt I wanted to stay there. I didn't want to go home because the woods and that campsite by that lake was great. But I have a wife and 2 small kids so I always miss them of course. It was really a great feeling to feel totally content there even after 3 days in that cold. Walking home I roughly calculated this to be my 400 outing with overnighter.. in lets say 20 years. So for me it took a long time to feel I "belong" there LOL
@@Swedwoods first of all thank you for such a warm answer. And second - I was out in the woods for a couple of days maximum and never alone, some with my wife some with my son, and never in winter, but you're right it is not simple at all. It was a journey that required you retrace your steps time and time again because of camera settings. As for climbing that rock-face that also required that you had to climb down too,to fetch your camera and its supports, then climb it again. Bravo! And congratulations on creating a great video. BB
