I agree that we should have had a lot more things from them. But i also think it's kinda beautiful the way they happened, like, they were a surprise even to the writers. It's almost poetic if you think about it. I would have given them more scenes and moments but i don't think i would change the way they were written, cause in the big picture...i think it worked.
the s3 buildup was a masterpiece! i just always think that the writers did them a disservice past that, but even so they’re still the greatest ever to me
the fact that they werent even planned to be a couple in the first place but the chemistry prevailed and pacey has and will ALWAYS be the best match for joey..excellence
Thank God Kate and Josh dated and the real life chemistry remained. I think we wouldn't have had Pacey and Joey if it wasn't for that. All the real life intimacy went to their scenes. So much, that sometimes it doesn't even look like they're acting lol. We're blessed the writers realized that.

He knew the earrings at prom wasn’t her style but her mother’s bracelet (which he knew it was) was her style; simple, elegant, and beautiful. Like, this is some serious boyfriend or husband material. Am I saying he is perfect? No, absolutely not but this is the type of person/relationship that people want. Someone you can truly be yourself around and feel appreciated. Pacey never in his life felt valued but Joey always did even before she developed feelings. Oh and he made Joey feel like a WOMAN. Listen, I’m in my 30s and I remember the time when I dated someone at 19 (he was 19 too) that awakened my womanhood. I felt desired, sexy, wanted, and confident. Now, I’ve always been confident but this type of confidence was different lol! One shouldn’t feel the need to have a romantic relationship to validate their existence but if you’re truly looking for someone, get you someone that you can have good days AND bad days with. Emphasis on the bad days. Someone you will choose over and over again despite the hardships. Someone that wouldn’t hurt you other than passing away. Someone that will have your back Someone that will call you out on your shit with love. Someone that will always desire you. Someone that is team you until their or your last breath. Someone that will teach you or enlighten you. Someone that hears and LISTENS to you Someone that is truly in love with YOU. And you feel exactly the same for them.

So "what had happened waaaas" I was dating this girl in college (first love actually) AND she had me start watching this and...I... ended up really liking it! So much so I'm here all these years later RANDOMLY because I was looking for ideas for a character and remembered the love story of Joey and Pacy. One the best tv romances I've seen. And the show was suppose to have her and Dawson shipped BUTthe chemistry between Joey and Pacy was undeniable.
I don't believe that they were every ennemies at all he fancied her the second he meets her he winds her up as a way of interacting with her and being close to her because she is beautiful and he wants her.

I've been doing a Fringe rewatch - and this always ALWAYS makes me want to do a Dawson rewatch - I always imagine Pacey Witter is Peter Bishop as a teenager. :)
Pacey liked Joey first. Dawson was with Jen when Pacey asked Dawson if he could date Joey. He didn’t have to ask Dawson. She wasn’t his. Dawson knew Pacey liked her first. If anything he broke the bro code. Additionally, Dawson is based on the creator of DC (Williamson) who clearly doesn’t understand what love really is given how Dawson is written so we can’t expect that Williamson would get that Dawson wasn’t right for Joey. Clearly the season 5 and early 6 show runners thought Dawson was supposed to end up with Joey as he was the lead protagonist so they had to wipe away P/J because that relationship was too strong. Anything even remotely resembling more than a platonic friendship between them during those seasons would kill a Dawson/Joey endgame.
Williamson knows what true love is, because he made this show to rewrite his own real history! He's Dawson! Ironically, just like his real life, Dawson didn't get the girl because of Pacey. 😂 It's frustrating, but the truth is that the audience loved Pacey with Joey and he couldn't do anything about that 😂 He also regrets about that in interviews, opined that nowadays Pacey and joey probably got divorced. Poor Wiliamson

Dawson treated her as a possession and only noticed her beauty when she was dressed up because Pacey forced him to, Pacey fell in love with Joey for the reasons beyond the beauty, and helped her see herself the way he did.
So "what had happened waaaas" I was dating this girl in college (first love actually) AND she had me start watching this and...I... ended up really liking it! So much so I'm here all these years later RANDOMLY because I was looking for ideas for a character and remembered the love story of Joey and Pacy. One the best tv romances I've seen. And the show was suppose to have her and Dawson shipped BUTthe chemistry between Joey and Pacy was undeniable.

I've been doing a Fringe rewatch - and this always ALWAYS makes me want to do a Dawson rewatch - I always imagine Pacey Witter is Peter Bishop as a teenager. :)

Pacey liked Joey first. Dawson was with Jen when Pacey asked Dawson if he could date Joey. He didn’t have to ask Dawson. She wasn’t his. Dawson knew Pacey liked her first. If anything he broke the bro code.
Additionally, Dawson is based on the creator of DC (Williamson) who clearly doesn’t understand what love really is given how Dawson is written so we can’t expect that Williamson would get that Dawson wasn’t right for Joey.
Clearly the season 5 and early 6 show runners thought Dawson was supposed to end up with Joey as he was the lead protagonist so they had to wipe away P/J because that relationship was too strong. Anything even remotely resembling more than a platonic friendship between them during those seasons would kill a Dawson/Joey endgame.
Williamson knows what true love is, because he made this show to rewrite his own real history! He's Dawson! Ironically, just like his real life, Dawson didn't get the girl because of Pacey. 😂 It's frustrating, but the truth is that the audience loved Pacey with Joey and he couldn't do anything about that 😂 He also regrets about that in interviews, opined that nowadays Pacey and joey probably got divorced. Poor Wiliamson
