- A little note just cause I get SO many comments asking why certain scenes aren't included. This series of videos isn't every single Jacey scene. It's just clips that more or less fit the screwball comedy aesthetic. Some screwball comedies I would suggest ya'll watch are Bringing Up Baby and The Philadelphia Story. Pacey and Joey have been compared a lot to Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. A great more recent screwball comedy is "What's Up Doc" it's lowkey a remake of Bringing Up Baby from 1972. If you're averse to black and white movies and want to ease into it then What's Up Doc is a good one to start with
The Capeside Story (AKA The 90s "The Philadelphia Story")
Fun Fact: I just added up the runtime of all 12 parts of this and it adds up to an hour and 42 minutes. The Philadelphia Story runtime is 1 hour 52 minutes. It's so close and I didn't even orchestrate that. It's just all of Pacey and Joey's less dramatic scenes. This is blowing my mind. I will take this as further proof that Josh and Katie are the 90s Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn... it's subliminal proof lol

nothing at all from season 2!? it really was a non-existent season for them in scenes/interaction eh?
I think that maybe the writer’s had to separate them because the beginning of their relationship is similar to the way Pacey and Andie’s starts with the banter/back and forth. S2 Pacey really gave off the impression that the banter is what he’s attracted to. So I think they couldn’t have him doing the same thing with Joey with any catching any feelings.
I’m glad that we got Pacey with Andie for his character growth, but it was weird that they had to remove Joey from his storyline almost entirely. The only scenes that stick out in my memory is him giving her a seatbelt before the big test and him pulling her from the fire.
It's also coz Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes broke up before season 2 so they had to keep them away from each other. That's partly why they brought Andie and jack into the show.
I think it’s also because many fans were already shipping Pacey and Joey because of their chemistry but I think they wanted Joey and Dawson to work so much that they had to separate Pacey and Joey because they were overpowering over Dawson and Joey that’s why they waited till season 3 to get them together but people got bored with Dawson and Joey they wanted off that train for good because they were a snooze fest
What she had with him was more real than she had with Dawson, it was more real love with Pacey than Dawson!!!!!
Pacey and Joey is one of the greatest TV romances ever. They both carried the show at one point. But they sure had a rocky start

Whoever wrote Pacey's lines is intriguingly brilliant.
