@@Rigoletta53 Enough said. Here's my latest single for you: ua-cam.com/video/z8HOq2pXvlA/v-deo.html. I hope you think it is a ! as well. Thanks and take care.
Carole King is one of the best.. I love her ❤️...she is unbelievable... how this woman can write These songs....our generation is full of her stuff...and the other is Burt Bacharach!!!
Terrific stuff! Love the history. Carol was and is a damn good singer, but as a writer, she was a genius! Some of the songs she wrote for The Drifters and The Shirelles, just to name a couple of the fabulous groups she worked with, are timeless!! Thanks for posting. Don
I knew this song from one of The Beatles' albums, where George Harrison sings it, but I didn't know that the song was composed by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Carole King, one of my favourite women singers.
Cole Porter is the greatest songwriter in American history. I don't know whether Carole King competes with him for sophistication and wit, but she's right up there.
I'd nominate Dylan, or maybe Chuck Berry. Goffin-King a notch below them. But I'm biased towards the rock era so I'm not going to dispute your statement all too much.
There was a vhs release of this many years ago, at that time her record company was really trying to get her to do this concert in conjunction with her release of the one to one album. King was at this time period spending a lot of time in Austin Texas. You can find I believe the entire one to one concert on UA-cam and i believe it was also on prime . It’s a super good concert featuring some amazing musicians including the phenomenal Eric Johnson.
I agree but at least it was not predictable & forgettable like the lead solos usually are for this type of event. Eric Johnson made sure that his guitar playing was going to be memorable!
Eric Johnson was incredible, even at that early age. You can hear some of the technique that makes you know that it’s Eric on this solo. I don’t think it was over played, you have an obligation to take a solo and make it your own at his level.
To each his own, The Beatles' re-make is fun, but the original version of "Chains" by The Cookies on Dimension Records is the best version. It's so simple, yet so well produced and the drummer kicked azz. It wasn't as big as their follow up single "Don't Say Nothin' (Bad About My Baby") but it was a Top 20 hit. I love the Beatles' original material, but their re-makes of American oldies were mostly just album fillers that applied the Beatles sound to Motown or other American oldies.
I love this version just as much as the one the Cookies does. This version has a lot of energy to it. Carole King is a terrific song writer.
Yet another great tune by Carole King. I cover it at nursing homes. The audiences love it.
It's on my 'by ❤' list. Ukulele in D 😊

Carol King is just Fabulous!
"Humanity is over 40,000 years old, and you're lucky enough to be alive at the same time as Carole King."
Good point !
Never heard that one, but how true!
That’s powerfully beautiful!❤
Carole King...a national treasure !!!❤
Wow...memories. Loved the Cookies.
Genial. Una época muy hermosa. Y todavía 2023 suena genial 😃😃👏👏👏👏
Never knew Carole King wrote this song. I thought it was an old R&B song!
Carole wrote some of her songs with R&B artists in mind like Natural Woman for Aretha Franklin and Up On The Roof for The Drifters

Don
she did the music, but Gerry Goffin did the lyrics. Even on stuff like "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman"
One of my many favourites of Carole king .22/12/13

SRV knew it first time he heard him…..
Love it.
Best singer
Wow! Super! Thanks.
man so good
They even have the black T-shirts that were standard uniform of the Beatles in their early-rock leather days.
Wow I had no idea! I got here via the Beatles cover, via the Cookies...
Here for Eric Johnson
Was there a soundtrack released on CD - I can't find anything, but hopefully something was released?

The Cookies version is still the best.
I agree, but I can listen to just about anybody's version.
CHAINS
C. KING
A young "kootch" on guitar.
go to 1:39 for Eric Johnson's solo
I never expected to see him here!🤯
This version sounds so much like Queen, the guitar solo sounded a bit like Brian May a bit
slaton lumber
Cookies did it best with Carole as a back up. The guys look ridiculous.
sind deine Sprüche wirklich echt ?
I like the original version better period, the one by the cookies
Would love Frankie Vallie do this
you answere not me. OK, not more your Musik

It was not overplayed IMO. Eric Johnson is one of those "who is this guy?!" unforgettable type of players like all of the great ones are!
That “lil kid” is one of the greatest guitarist to grace our planet!
I like It very much!!!! And I am a classic solo lover
This song was made for the Beatles only
Excellent! However The Beatles are better!
Yes, the Beatles the best

I agree with your opinion! This version is good, but The Beatles version (with George Harrison on lead vocals) is the best!
