This was great! Also, as parents we need to set a good example. In our home we don’t have any social media such as twitter, instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat. We don’t show that those things are important so it’s not a big deal as of now. I’m sure in the future it will come up but for now it’s not even a topic of conversation.
Yes yes yes!!! I work as a teacher with middle school children and I can see how social media and tik tok affects their social skills and lives!!! Such a stark difference to when I was in middle school
I love seeing celebrities in the public eye advocate for delayed phone use for their kids. Like Jennifer Garner, Drew Barrymore and more 🙌 I share this video with everyone I have the discussion with! Such a good one Ellen! ❤❤
His website is PHENOMENAL! I am blown away he was serious about being an expert problem solver. Wow thank you for sharing this wonderful information!!🎉
Hi Ellen! You are amazing and so wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing your family life and doing these podcasts!! You might consider reaching out to "carnivore md" When talking to many people in the mainstream his name has been brought to my attention many many times. I'm in my early 20s and so many of the people I know are into his content. I know you have already had a debate on vegansim vs carnivore diets, but this man is widely influential and seems very charming, and maybe even friendly. I think a conversation between you and him would be greatly helpful to steer people in a more allighned direction!!! Aloha 🥳
A woman who has put hundreds of videos of her kids without their consent in the past 10 years is discussing the topic of the dangers of social media for kids after all this time? Something feels off here ... :(
I’ll be surprised if she addresses this. Because her showing her children over the years is one of the main reasons she’s been so successful. And I’m not judging her for showing them, but it is odd that she’s having this discussion while having done that. I mean, she’s definitely established enough now to where she doesn’t really need to show them as much if at all, but they definitely played a huge role in her success.
hi there, This particular topic of giving kids smart phones and unsupervised access to the internet is different than what you are referring to, do you see the difference? But I think the topic of putting kids on social media is also an issue totally worth discussing, and could sometimes go hand in hand. Back when I first started social media It was something I had never considered or realized could be an issue. It was so new and felt so innocent and pure. But over the years I have learned the hard way that it's not always a good idea to put kids online. And while I have tried my very best over the years to show less of them and only show my kids in the most respectful way and only when they want to be filmed, I still see where you are coming from on many levels that it might be better to not show them at all, especially as they get older. That's one of the main reasons why I started this podcast and rarely post on my main channel now - it's my goal is to phase my kids off UA-cam completely and something I consider and think about all the time. Maybe I can get someone like Tiffany Ferg on my podcast soon to have this conversation - someone who has strong opinions about not showing kids online at all. All the best. xo
@@theellenfisherpodcast Thank you for your explanation, Ellen. I understand that we all change as parents and that UA-cam was different when you first started posting videos. I hope I didn't sound rude, however, I was expecting that you will also cover the topic of parents putting their small kids on social media without their consent; that’s why I was left a bit confused after you didn’t talk about this specific topic despite your family vlogs and Instagram page. It would be interesting if you could make a podcast on this specific topic and how your opinion about it changed over time.

I love Ellen, but I would love to see this addressed. Putting your children’s entire life on the internet as a parent and the effects it can have.

She has addressed this in previous videos.
