    One of the Best Mentors in Baseball in Ron Washington, teaching Vaughn Grissom on what it means to be an Everyday Player.
    THIS is what it means to be a Brave, and I am more than Humbled and Happy to see THIS Man as a Member of the Atlanta Braves.
    The Shortstop Battle between Grissom, Arcia, and Hechavarria will be a HIGHLIGHT of the 2023 Spring Training for Braves Country!

    There is no other sport as fun to *practice* as baseball. Gosh, I love it. Here's hoping that Vaughn can fill that hole left by Dansby. I'd also love to see him become a young leader in the clubhouse.
    Now, if only we had a left-fielder...

      Kevin Pillar? Eddie Rosario? Jordan Luplow? Sam Hilliard?
      There's talent there, and there will certainly be a battle for the LF slot, contrary to what people believe.

      @@SoundFX09 hey, I’m hopeful that we see the return of NLCS MVP Eddie! However, I still don’t understand why we didn’t bring Duvall back. When healthy, he’s a GG fielder with serious power, and he would not have been expensive. It’s a shame we couldn’t dump Ozuna, and I’m still baffled by the $20M that AA gave Charlie Morton.
      We’ll still have a heck of a team. It’ll be exciting

      I mean, I have faith in Eddie Rosario. Hell, him just getting back to his career norms is a massive upgrade, and he still has the upside he showed with us in '21.

    Happy to see Vaughn back in the lineup. I love the friendship he and Michael Harris display. The Braves are an amazing team with young, energetic players that play the game with heart and have fun playing the game. That's why they are winning. They love the game and they don't lose sight of the goal winning, but they have fun playing and that's what makes these young players so much fun to watch. I wish they could keep all the amazing players they have...

    Big gamble for Atlanta to let Grissom earn the SS job..would’ve let him take reps in LF, sign Iglesias at SS and start 2023 with that plan. (then again, Im no baseball executive..thats just my 2 cents!)😅😉

    • @KOrnhOliO1
      @KOrnhOliO1 Рік тому +1

      Problem with that: Iglesias is an all defense, no hit SS...why he's still not signed. Plenty of those type of players available! No hit guys, like all of those catchers we tried year before last! lol If Wash says he can get him ready to play defense, I believe him! He's got over 50 years in baseball, and has been a defensive specialist for a long time. Plus, we saw Grissom play 2nd last year and for a 20 year old guy straight up from barely any AA games, I thought he did outstanding. Yes, his hit tool went down, as expected, for a guy that's never played a grueling full season for an MLB club before - that's to be expected! But, his ability to come up and start hitting from day one, and keep it up for 3/4 of the time he was up, that's enough for me to know this kid can hit - and hit for power - and hit to the opposite field.
      Hitting should be easier for players this year with the rules changes and no shift. Slightly shorter distance between bases too! Those bang-bang plays are now gonna be safe calls...especially for guys with wheels like Vaughn has!
      All through a players history...little league, high school, the minors, etc. a player has been taught to hit in the gap between 1st and second and up the middle. So, a player comes up and all of a sudden he can't hit there anymore - where he's been trained to hit since little league! Because of the shift it threw off many players because that's where they always were taught to hit. Now, going back to no shift, it will allow players to hit where they always were taught to hit again! Grissom could hit to the opposite field really well and hit where the shift wasn't! That was super impressive to me! Time after time he'd get a strong single to the left side where the shift left the hole, etc. This kid can hit and hit well! He's only gonna get better!!! :)
      You put Grissom in LF, and then you are stuck with a hole in the line up, because all of the available SS's are no hit SS's and they're all gonna be lucky to hit over the Mendoza line! 🤷‍♀🙄
