    Just did mine, what a difference!😁 I would like to add a tip to anyone doing this mod. When disconnecting the blue connector of the OEM paddle shifters, make sure you have a small tool, like the smallest screw driver for glasses, to press the tab that locks the connector while wiggle it out. I broke one of them when disconnecting, but luckily the wire inside are still strong enough to let me pull the rest out while I had the small screw driver pressed on the tab.
    The other tip is to snap few pictures of how the wires are placed/tucked originally, so that it will be a lot easier when putting everything together. (There are more wires in the right side, and they must be put back in the same order so that everything fits)
    Other than disconnecting the connector, this is a very straightforward DIY mod.

      what if you live in ohio? is it different?

      @@p00pieNot sure if the US spec car is different than Canadian spec.
      Just make sure you snap few pictures of the wire arrangement before disconnecting anything, and be careful not to rip the connector.
      Good luck bro!

    As for the paddles, I prefer the long boys. Pause. 😂 Also had no idea about adding a clutch pedal for our DCT. Good content bro.

      Haha nice! Yeah pretty interesting some drift guys are actually using the DCT if you watch some of @norbefilms videos he’s got some sick F30 S55 swapped DCT drift car content

    Issue is that DCT will never take the insane amount of torque that a ZF8 can handle. Not to mention ZF8 shifts faster and smoother. That's why people are tuning 335-s and 340-s to insane horsepower and torque levels instead of tuning the F80-s. But from the G series onward the M cars will be a tuning beasts also... Because the transmission will handle every amount of torque that you give it. And the other benefit is... ZF8 is bulletproof... Basically you cannot destroy that transmission... and it is very very low maintenance item. Basically no maintenance except an oil every now and then...

    I got some Chinese one on Amazon for my e92 m3 and they feel amazing for 150$. It doesn’t even look complicated so idk why these companies want 400+ for them

    You should do a video swapping the start and M buttons if you haven't already. And agreed, short of a pdk it's one of the best gear boxes you can get sub super car lvl, it's a manual that is always ready for the next gear with simulated auto functions. I didn't get a G series for that very reason, I kept my f82 and bought a TTRS to play with instead. Good video.

    • @BlakesGarage
      @BlakesGarage  Рік тому

      I’ll probably never change the buttons not really a fan of that mod I think the stock is just clean. But yeah man PDK is amazing! Our Macan Turbo is nuts how good the trans is.

    Yeah tranny on these cars comes down to personal preference. I have a manual and I got the cuz the dct is just boring to drive and these cars are more synthetic and electric power steering vs last gen, so I wanted to still feel engaged somewhat and I didn't care about being faster on shifts. Car pulls plenty on ethanol blend lol

      They’re worth it! Not for the clicks, but for the tight tolerance & unbelievable feel of quality! They’re made so well with premium materials! CNC machined & with magnetic technology. So not only is the tolerance ridiculous but the magnet sucks the lever right back in place for the next gear to be selected! I run them on my 09 135i & they’re unbelievable! $450 is a lot but again, definitely worth it! Not sure if you’re familiar with the new 992 GT3RS, but that has magnetic technology paddle shifters! It’s basically F-1 type sh**!✌🏻
