About Wonder Woman:
Wonder Woman is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character is a founding member of the Justice League. The character first appeared in All Star Comics #8 published October 21, 1941 with her first feature in Sensation Comics #1 in January 1942. The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously ever since. In her homeland, the island nation of Themyscira, her official title is Princess Diana of Themyscira. When blending into the society outside of her homeland, she sometimes adopts her civilian identity Diana Prince.
Wonder Woman was created by the American psychologist and writer William Moulton Marston (pen name: Charles Moulton), and artist Harry G. Peter. Marston's wife, Elizabeth, and their life partner, Olive Byrne, are credited as being his inspiration for the character's appearance. Marston's comics featured his ideas on DISC theory, and the character drew a great deal of inspiration from early feminists.
Wonder Woman's Bronze Age origin story relates that she was sculpted from clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta and was given a life as an Amazon, along with superhuman powers as gifts by the Greek gods. In 2011, DC changed her background with the retcon that she is the biological daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta, jointly raised by her mother and her aunts Antiope and Menalippe. The character has changed in depiction over the decades, including briefly losing her powers entirely in the late 1960s; by the 1980s, artist George Perez gave her an athletic look and emphasized her Amazonian heritage. She possesses an arsenal of magical items, including the Lasso of Truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, a tiara which serves as a projectile, and, in older stories, a range of devices based on Amazon technology.
Wonder Woman's character was created during World War II; the character in the story was initially depicted fighting Axis forces as well as an assortment of colorful supervillains, although over time her stories came to place greater emphasis on characters, deities, and monsters from Greek mythology. Many stories depicted Wonder Woman freeing herself from bondage, which counterpointed the "damsels in distress" trope that was common in comics during the 1940s. In the decades since her debut, Wonder Woman has gained a cast of enemies bent on destroying her, including classic villains such as Ares, Cheetah, Doctor Poison, Circe, Doctor Psycho, and Giganta, along with more recent adversaries such as Veronica Cale and the First Born. Wonder Woman has also regularly appeared in comic books featuring the superhero teams Justice Society (from 1941) and Justice League (from 1960).
The character is an archetypical figure in popular culture that has been adapted to various media. October 21 is Wonder Woman Day, commemorating the release of her first appearance in All Star Comics #8 (with the exception of 2017 which held the day on June 3 to tie in with the release of the film of the same name)

I was never sure about Cavill portrayal of Superman (but it could just be me) but Gal is Wonder Woman. I can’t think of anything one else that could play her.
I liked the Gal Gadot Wonder Woman/Ben Affleck Batman dynamic that Snyder tried to initiate in both movies. I hope to see more of this but I'm doubtful with Gunn in charge now. I can always hope though.

I thought Gal Gadot was excellent as WW, though WW84 was disappointing, she was still very good in it. I hope they keep her portraying WW. Crazy that it has been 7 years since the first movie damn! Does Gunn want to continue skewing younger with the actors going forward, given she is 39 this year?

Exactly. It appears to le that Hollywood is specifically blacklisting Henry Cavill which is inexcusable. I could not agree more ! Hiring James Gunn was a huge mistake for D.C. Henry Cavill is Superman hiring a younger Cavill look alike is not going to work. Paradise Lost is an unnecessary step. James Gunn has completely pissed me off. with his reboot plans. Superman is now more CW than the CW show was. Yet Batman will already have Damian Wayne as his son. He could have kept Cavil & simply jumped ahead to Jon Kent & Damian Wayne if he wanted to go younger. He could have introduced the Titans to go younger. Instead all he can think of is to go younger with Superman. HOW ORIGINAL JAMES. He's all over the freaking place. Wonder Woman is one of my favorite heroines, I’ve bought comics and watched Linda Carter portray her in the TV series. I thought Gal Gadot did just fine with WW … I’ve been hoping and waiting for another WW and thought they would be doing more films with WW in them, but as with a lot of fans here, I’m concluding Marvel and DC are destroying the heroes I grew up with, with their own hands into trying to make them into what they think they should be, instead of the true heroes they are with politically correct garbage. They have been altering the timelines of universes into multiverses so much, that I am unable to recognize heroes from villains anymore. It’s become a mishmash of nothing new under the sun scenario. Hmmmmm, maybe that’s because there hasn’t been good writers, directors, etc., forming a coherent story anymore. I don’t think they know how to, since greed and money outweigh quality and substance in today’s films….AND One reason I care NOT to watch many of today’s films anymore, my heroes have become misguided pawns in a world gone mad with egotistical decisions and selfish actions. 🤔😩😥
