- Title says it all. This video is me unboxing the Little Machine Shop (LMS) HiTorque 6450 Mini Mill. This is one big, well put together shipping crate. I learned from my mini lathe the best way to deal with these hinges. Was able to save all the pieces by carefully bending the metal and then removing the top/sides.
The mill was of course bolted in and everything was absolutely pristine. My hat is off to LMS on their packing/shipping process. Not only were they unbelievably fast, but ZERO damage. Not even a ding or anything noticeable (again, unlike the mini lathe and the brown Santa team). Kudos to how the pack and ship the big stuff as well as the small stuff. I definitely got my shipping cost value here.
Took two of us to lift the mill onto the stand and then I realized when I went to put the handles on that my assumption of long end toward the front was not as smart as I thought. Oops. Constantly learning. I'm in no rush to get this project complete and I don't ever think these journeys are "complete", just works in progress. More to come for sure.
Really appreciate the heads-up video, my mill arrives tomorrow, now I know what to expect, thankyou for the time and effort you put into this. 👍😁
Congrats on you MM. The journey begins.
Never ending journey on hobbies!
Thanks for the video, just bought mine. Took a long time debating which one to get but got this one myself. First time with an actual mill, had a frankenmill that I set up using a harbor freight drill stand and an XY table. It was good but not accurate at all. So again thanks for the video....
You're welcome. I'll be mixing in plenty of updates on my mini mill adventures!
We now have Reloading Bench Machine Shop 🤣
Excellent poing!
"WARNING: Do Not Taunt Super Happy Fun Mill."
🤪
I hate those f-ing crates! Nice little rig
The crate for the mini lathe was nearly identical in design, but the wood used for the mini mill was much thicker/better and easier to work with. I guess I cut my teeth learning on the mini lathe crate, LOL.
Just have no interest in this type of equipment. Reloading videos are great. Other stuff not so much. Cheers!
Noted. So when I do publish reloading content hope you enjoy that. Skip over the other stuff that does not interest you as my hobbies evolve/change that will be reflected in my videos.
@@ReLoadersBench I certainly do enjoy your videos. There would be one thing non firearms, reloading thing that would interest me. That is how to make/create a UA-cam video. That seems to me like it might be fun to do. Today I’m starting on doing a remodel of my reloading bench. Cheers!
@@sherlock1895 - documenting your reloading bench remodel would make for an excellent, IMO, TY video. I'll have to see what I can do about making a video about making a video ;-)
@ck1895 - BTW, nice callout on that ridiculously priced beast of a brass sorting machine. $1,400 to sort brass? WAY too many other/better or more useful things to spend that money on. Average Joe is not the correct target audience IMO. That thing looks like it belongs on Gold Rush
OK... don't watch. 😉
