Is there a way to set specific time zones and time for those automatic updates on WordPress? It’s going to suck having to wake up at 3am to conduct updates
Hi Natasha! Site management practices such as automatic updates are enabled by default by Wordpress. You can delay automatic updates by following these steps. Remember, with all major changes, please create a backup of your website before proceeding. www.hostgator.com/help/article/updating-wordpress#auto_update
I don't see the same options on the left side bar.I don't have "pages", "appearance", "plugins", "users", or "updates". I want to be able to edit the website, but I have none of those options.
Hi Citzen J, WordPress Dashboard has those options, the theme you select and use has also other features and options you can set up too. Feel free to contact Live Support anytime for help via chat/telephone/Skype for free (866.964.2867 or helpchat.hostgator.com).
What is this... Yeah, cause we totally needed a tutorial on how to update stuff that shows a nice and big "Update" button next to them... How about something useful such as updating stuff that needs to go through an FTP server and deal with actual manual file updates?
Thanks for the suggestion! We like to make sure all HostGator customers get the help they need at any level of expertise, so we can definitely look into this idea for another video. We do have tutorials for using FTP and editing files directly on the server, too. Check out this one: ua-cam.com/video/NWvBCbJ-uAk/v-deo.html

My dashboard indicates I have the latest version but I don't I have 4.9.15. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Lots and lots of thoughts - too many for a comment section. Definitely give our support team a call (or chat!) so they can help look into that.
Thanks, very informative.
Glad the information helped you!
Haven't updated my site since 2015. Now the version is "to old to update or backup" kinda stuck.
