Hello! Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it, and the other commenters seem to feel the same way. I just wanted to mention that I noticed a problem with the Spanish translation of the video starting from the 7:40 minute mark. It would be great if this could be fixed. Thanks again!
Hi, I my developer is away and I need to remove a subscribe box from the footer of my pages. I can edit the pages - but then I am not sure exactly what to do when I am on the section I need to delete - and I don't want to mess it up as my developer is away. Can you help?
That would heavily depend on your WordPress theme, normally if it is in the footer of your site you would be able to remove it under Appearance>Customize.
Your theme may use another method, we would recommend taking a look at our article below for some of the other methods: www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-create-a-custom-homepage-in-wordpress/
Hello, I finnaly figured out what is the difference between a static homepage and blog feed.:)). So, thank you for this! I have a question though: I'm stuck at building my simple one and only page and just want to do a simple static page with affiliate link from amazon in order to promote a product. Can you suggest me, what theme and plug-in to use so I can edit it in full like fonts, size of the letters, color of the button, color of the layout? Thank you for the suggestions in advance!
If you want a one page WordPress theme, we would recommend taking a look at our list below! www.wpbeginner.com/showcase/21-best-one-page-wordpress-themes/ If it is for one product you can add the link like normal but if you were looking for multiple links we would recommend taking a look at our article below! www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-build-an-amazon-affiliate-store-using-wordpress/
I inherited this website from someone else who built it. When I click "Edit" on the home page, it keeps me on the back end. It doesn't open to Gutenberg, Block Editor, or Elementor. SeedProd wasn't installed at the beginning of the build. I don't think there are any page builders on here. Is there a video on how to edit without any builders? Anything will help.
I just realized that "Disable Gutenberg" was installed in the settings. Did the last webmaster do this to make it more difficult to edit the website without them?
The disable Gutenberg was likely mainly to keep the old interface the webmaster was used to when WordPress transitioned to Gutenberg. Glad to hear you found the cause of the issue!
I am using a ThemeArile "ConsultStreet Pro" theme in Wordpress. I have created several other pages besides the home page. I have assigned a "Template" page from the Consultstreet pro theme on each page from the wordpress dashboard "pages" "edit." The problem I am running into is when I change something on one of the pages (in the "themes" "customize" section), it changes it on all the pages. How can I edit each page independently? I tried going to the WP dashboard & going to pages, but when I go there & click on a page & "edit" it is just a blank page with the title of the page shown & no blocks, no theme no nothing. In your video when you go to the wordpress dashboard & go to "pages" "edit" it shows your theme in there. You mentioned "Gutenburg" ... Could you please explain what that is or what I need to do so I can see my Consultstreet theme in the wordpress dashboard "pages" "edit" section? I am missing something there. I learned website coding a long time ago & always used Adobe Dreamweaver to edit my websites. This is a whole new world. The whole dashboard section plus the theme customizing section just gets confusing. Thank you for your time!
The themes>Customize area would be for the general template of your site and unless there is a page specific template then the pages are designed to all have close to the same look. Our guide below shows more on how to create a template for a specific page. www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-create-a-custom-page-in-wordpress/ For a better understanding of templates we would recommend taking a look at our article below: www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/template/ If you want to customize the design of a specific page more than what the default option then you would probably want to use a page builder plugin. We give a few options to choose from in our list below: www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/best-drag-and-drop-page-builders-for-wordpress/
For that you would need to modify the CSS for your menu itself, if you have not done so already we would first recommend reaching out to the support for your specific theme and they may have some CSS they would recommend to allow for this.
What if I haven’t got a homepage option in the drop down page list? I go on the website it has a home page, I search in pages and there’s no homepage🤔 Do I need to create one? If so, what happens to the homepage already showing on my site and how do I delete it if it stays there and I end up with 2 homepages when it doesn’t appear in my pages list🤷🏻♂️
That likely means that your the has a default homepage template. To change the design you would need to check your options under Appearance>Customize, or use a tool like SeedProd for more advanced customizations.
@@wpbeginner Ok, I’ve gone through appearance/custom I found homepage under core, I clicked on it and it has the same setup as in settings I.E fixed page then a drop down box for selecting the page. There was no homepage🤦🏻♂️ so I came out of the drop down , underneath it said add page. So I added homepage, published it. Then looked in pages and homepage-front page was listed. I opened the website, the new homepage was there. I clicked on the menu, pressed home and it took me to the new (fixed) home page. Woohoo😂 thanks for that👍🏻 I’m thinking that’s why I’ve been unable to design my header on the homepage🤔 could be a game changer.
If your changes are reflected when not in incognito then we would recommend checking that your hosting provider does not have a cache that could be causing the conflict!
You would normally achieve that using code. Our guide below shows what needs to add! www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-a-dynamic-copyright-date-in-wordpress-footer/
It would depend on the specific theme you are using as different themes have different methods for changing the header image. If you check with your theme's support/documentation it should specify the steps needed to take.
It would depend your specific theme, if you reach out to your theme's support they should be able to assist but the most common reasons are to make sure you have set a homepage under Settings>Reading and clear any caching on your site.
The most common reason you wouldn't be able to see the static homepage option would be if you do not have a published page on your site as it requires a published page to be set to.

bro mara static page wala option nahi a raha
The most common reason you wouldn't be able to see the static homepage option would be if you do not have a published page on your site as it requires a published page to be set to.
there are so many difference. my customize reading doesnt allow me to change it to static. there is no option for it.
Please ensure you have a page published for it to be an option to select and that is the most common reason for that issue.
