Personally I think Em is the GOAT. His lyrics, flow, cadence, style, rhyme schemes, and longevity do it for me. I've listen to his shit daily, have since the slim shady lp came out, and I still hear punchlines and rhyme schemes I've never caught before. I've lived in michigan my whole life in a town right by Detroit, I'm 36, and want to see him perform once before he calls it quits. Seems like he has only been performing in other countries in recent years. That dude is a lyrical genius. I don't get the hate he receives from some of the hate he receives from the rap community, especially some of the old heads, when Em in almost every interview or speech he gives flowers to all the ones who helped pave the way for him and others. You could argue eminem has had the greatest impact on rap and hip hop out of almost any other rapper to ever do it. Pisses me off when some of the haters say it's because he's white.
