When she said "and now it's there as a reminder that i can overcome any f*cking sh*t that comes my way" i felt that. That's exactly how i feel about some of my tattoos.
emīlija buka I got my first tattoo at age 47. And I had it done by my nephew. And he told me to think of what I wanted. And in the few days I changed my mind 3 times of what I wanted. He said he REFUSED to do any tattoo that I wasn’t crazy for. That I would end up hating a month later. So then he told me to say all 3 I was thinking about. He drew them up and sent them home with me. Then at 3 months he called and said tell me the order of least to fave. So I did then he did the same at 6 and 9 months. Then a couple weeks before I would be back in town he asked which one I wanted. So I told him. And he did it for me. I was glad he instructed me in that way. If he hadn’t I would have a tattoo today I hate. So before you do it, if you don’t have a tattoo already in mind. Come up with 3 or 4 different ideas. Then wait 6 months and if you change your mind several times wait until you have a new idea. Add that to the circulation. Mill that idea around for a few months then pick the one you know you will always love. And don’t do anything to do with a boyfriend or girlfriend. They can change. Then you will always have the person associated to that tattoo. And NO NAMES. Unless it is your children or a parent or sibling.
@@maryallison0509 yeah I already have a design that I made myself about 3 years ago. Still want it. Had different variations of it but now know which one I want. But thank you for the really great advice 😊 and congrats on the tattoo!! 🌈
Hi Riyadh. I love these videos but struggle to watch them without good subtitles (I have a cognitive problem) the auto generated UA-cam ones are often nonsense so when the person is facing away it’s really difficult. Would u be able to look at having subtitles done manually with a software to allow me to enjoy your fantastic videos. X
Lol the only tattoo I have IS A HAND TATTOO. It’s a simple “a” for my cousin that died from brain cancer. Her name was Ali. She always held my hand literally and physically. I got it to simply say her and I will always be holding hands.
Love this video. Good ole OG here and think I only had 4 tats at that time. Now I have 7 and every piece means something huge for me. I love that she says follow your gut - because it really is a forever thing and you want to love it. Love you Riyadh. Peace from Toronto!!
10th CHILD there’s some good companies who do temp tattoos that last a week or two. You can get custom designs you should get one and try it on for a few weeks and see how it feels !
I had my home state of Mississippi tattooed on my chest. Permanent reminder of what I’ve overcome as a gay man , love it! It’s fun watching people here in California try to guess the state, get it wrong, then stare in shock when I tell them. I get more free beers that way. Pity and poor geography, lol!
This was awesome! I go to my friend, Charles Comber. He and his wife own a tattoo shop called Pin-ups & Needles, in Traverse City, MI. People have traveled there from several States away just to get a tattoo from him. He's INCREDIBLE!
Yay!! Riyadh is BAAAAACK!!! #fabulous This video ave me the feels the entire time, all 9 minutes and 13 seconds!!! As someone who works in Accounting, I LOVED this video!!! You’re always preaching inclusiveness, open-mindedness, love, and acceptance...and you make the world better place for little boys and girls who are gay like me. I wish your videos were around when I was a little boy...they would’ve made a world of a difference!!! Thank you so much for all you’ve do, that you do, and what you will do for the 🏳️🌈 community!!! Much love and aloha from Hawai’i!!! 😍🏳️🌈🤙🏽
I love all my tattoos, BUT about a year ago I broke my leg really badly and have had to have surgery twice which means the tattoo I had on my leg now looks like a patchwork quilt 😂
I was SO excited to see a new Riyadh vid in my inbox that I clicked without reading the title. While I was eating. I got to the part about skin in frames and.....you can guess the rest. Still love you though.
I’m not knocking down what she’s doing, but a tattooist is not a psychologist. Going as far as saying “you help so many people” is little bit exaggerated imo, there are other coping mechanisms that work better; and quite frankly, tattooing something on your body is at best an art! It’s not a statement or regaining control it’s just a body art. If your tattoo is made to remind you of a past trauma then you are either doing it for attention or you haven’t really gotten over it which then I would recommend you to see a psychologist 🙄🤷♂️.
Delphine Then educate me. Saying idk what I am talking about doesn’t mean you do. From my perspective what I said is true. Tell me yours? How did a tattoo “help” you?
N.Z.A well, first and foremost i am the tattooist in this video and i have been in the industry for 15 years. People who set foot in my studio (which is a custom shop on appointments only and not a street shop where you pick an already made design in a book) are in search for something deeper. You do not get tattoed just for aesthetic, that is a big old lie, nobody goes to pay someone to get marked and hurt for fun. It always come from a deeper issue that they are figuring out and cannot fully express in words. It ranges from loss of someone dear to their heart, to an otherwordly love for a child, an experience they want to carve in their skin forever and more.. there is always something way deeper than just skin deep. And yes, most people should go to a therapist (and i really mean EVERYBODY) but more often than not most time people arent ready yet and getting tattooed comes to their mind. If you cannot understand that, well, im sorry for you. Otherwise just try for second to grasp that concept, not everybody deals with their issues the same way.
Delphine First, I want to say amazing work. Second, There is nothing wrong with getting a tattoo for aesthetic or sexual stimulation, it’s normal and people do it all the time as I am sure you would know that with your experience. Third, I apologise I guess it’s like you said not everybody deals with issues the same way. And I guess it’s just hard for me to understand how does putting something permanent on your body that constantly reminds you of a past trauma/sadness will help alleviate your pain. For me personally, if I get a tattoo of a past trauma I will for sure need more than just a therapist after it because it will be always there reminding me how I couldn’t do anything making me feel more and more miserable. But I guess that’s why I don’t have a tattoo, we perceive things differently. Thank you for taking time to answer me and I have only to ask how did you see my comment and why did you decide to respond?
N.Z.A N.Z.A thank you. But that is the thing, you are not tattooing the trauma itself onto your skin but the fact that you overcame it. Through the entire process of going through pain at the hands of someone else (your tattooist) with full consent and control you can regain confidence within yourself and the other. It is a very paradoxical experience hence why it is not understood by a lot of people. It can have a very “shamanic” feel at times. It is beautiful to be able to help someone through their journey towards healing. whatever shape it takes as long as the results are there does it really matter how it is achieved? :) it is pretty funny actually my neighbour was watching a program with Riyhad on telly and i told him about this little video and decided to read the comments and then fell on yours. I think it is my duty as a tattooist to educate people and especially as i chose the “healing” side of it as my war horse. Tattooing is a wonderful thing, tough and hard at times but also marvelously transcending when done properly and with care.
No responsible tattoo artist would tattoo an asshole. You cannot possibly heal an open wound that is compressed in darkness and getting literal shit on it. Loved the video and her though. More tattoo content please
Huh? You can't just take someone's skin without their permission, even if they're dead. Also, I want my family to keep my tattoos when I die. Otherwise, they're just gonna rot in the ground.
What other people and professions would you like to see us do a confession video with? We have a nurse and a nightclub bouncer to come soon!
How about a priest?
Both
Teacher!
Dog groomer my friend is one & has gas stories!
Massage Therapist, Nurse, Teacher?

Why would you tattoo a part of your body that no-one but you and your partner will ever see?
Rebel The Girl Because no one but you or your partner will ever see it. 🙂
Because tattoos are for the person who has them and whoever they want to share them with
I got something empowering where no one sees it because it's for me and is very meaningful whether others can see it or not.
I love your shirt
❤️❤️❤️
I love my hand tats hehe
