From 1990 to 1994 I was the head of R & D in Atlas Cycles Sonepat. I got full job satisfaction in the company. Unfortunately, the company suffered due to family disputes. I wish Atlas Cycles to come back with a big bang.

I used to work in atlas sonipat as an engineer....started as shop floor incharge for frames. Those were the gud days.
I worked for around six months at Onida TV, Savak Branch at Noida, UP in 1990. Then I left as the manager was a frustrated man. Always complaining for this and that. But that proved good for me. That unit got closed. What a similarity, ( ONIDA.. NOIDA), Coincidence or Well thought of Name ?

मैं रोज अपने एटलस साइकिल से 50 किलोमीटर साइकिल चलाता हूं मुझे बहुत अच्छी लगती है.
my late father was the maintenance engr in atlas cycles from 1964 to 1979....he had moved from sen Raleigh cycles, Asansol,(WB).....atlas was doing so well then that the govt of india set up nabico (national bicycle company)in tanzania for the tanzanian govt...father did a 2 year tenure there too....infact sonepat owes its development to atlas...like hissar was developed by the jindals....sad atlas went down....lived at 30R,model town opposite a mandir......seemed a desert ...sand storms etc.....next i saw sonipat was in late 90s....looked so modern and developed....remember learning to ride a cycle 'kainchi-style'....in the central park of model town.......even met JDK,BDK......kya zamana tha
50+ years and still have my dad's bicycle in the family, Atlas symbolized quality and durability

Good presentation, but lacking some important facts... Atlas was not only the major producer, but Hercules cycles also shared a major chunk of the market, and Hero came comparatively late in 70's, and soon became a market leader with good quality, variety of models, yet fair priced cycles...
Then there were also, from the south, Enfield cycles Raleigh, Three Guns etc...

Lack of foresight in next generation and high bank interest rates also maybe one of the factor

Atlas cycles started in around 1960s the beginning price was about ₹100/= (Rupees One hundred only )
The other brands like Hercules cycles ,Raleigh,BSA,Philips, Humber & other Cycle companies had a huge market but,the cost was more than ₹250/= (Two hundred and fifty ) thereof.That after Atlas, Hero & other low price bicycles entered : Hercules,Raleigh etc markets affected and many old bicycle companies vanished from Hyderabad market.Hyd used to biggest bicycle users of India & of Asian continent, till 1980s

Yes atlas cycle jarur come back karegi.kyu ki jis tarah natural resources ka dohan ho raha hai jo kabhi bhi khatam ho sakte hai .use dekh kar lagta hai travel ke liye sirf or sirf cycle hi chalegi.
Ek karan shota hai parantu bahut effected hai --many state govt.distribute free cycle whice are namely atlas type manufacturers but originally they are all duplicate stamping companies and thise cycles are defect in short period and this bad massege goes in teenager student about the cycles original brand . One suggests " If cycle manufacture give a parsu to govt and directly supplying them it will help ."

Baap neh jita kamaya beto neh naiya duboya😢 NGo meh blind bacche rehteh hai aaj bhi aur ab ngo bhi private logo ki haato meh chala gaya aur log NAB ki naam seh apna khud ka ngo khol ke donetion ka dhanda chala rahe hai......
