Y'all remember the leap frog books? This feels like a high texh harry potter version (tho those leap frog books felt pretty high tech when i was a kid lol)
The lore says nothing about "being pure of heart" in this regard, JKR talks at length about powerful happy memories. So I think it's about the ability to feel joy, and say what you will about our good friend Dolores, but she seems to enjoy herself very much in the 5th book, even if it is in a sinister way. On the other hand, I don't think old Tommy R. had that capacity.
@@RetroRaconteur I have a bit of a problem calling a lot of those extra entries canonical, even those with writing from JKR because said writing often seems to be thrown together on a napkin in half an hour while ignoring lore established prior.
Can't see the appeal for a home console but could be cool as part of Wizarding World in Universal Studios or something as part of some obstacle course after you get a wand from Ollivander!
I really really enjoyed book of spells when it first came out, i wished there was more to it by the end, like more secrets or things you could find or more content in general, but it was really fun. When i connected my account to Pottermore, it gave me the wand that i had on the site, down to the details on it and everything, it was really neat.

I just wanted to say, as someone who bought and played this game since right at it’s launch and who also had a connected (old-school) Pottermore account*: the game would only bring in your Hogwarts house and your wand (that chose you, of course), brought over from Pottermore itself. Just like with Hogwarts Legacy! And like with Legacy, you only had to login once (although Book of Spells is “per-profile,” IIRC). It’s been a few years since I’ve played it.😅 *BTW, by saying “old-school Pottermore,” I’m talking about the OG site’s accounts that had random usernames assigned at signup, and had a slightly more “storybook” style to it. I’m pretty sure my username used to be HeartStrikeXXXX (the “X”s are actually numbers, BTW, which I’ve chosen to censor for privacy). The names back then were wild! My grandma got sorted on there back then as well, and her username started with “JinxCloak” for crying out loud! 🤣 Anyways, I can’t remember which was my main account now, seeing as I’ve since converted my main one to a Wizarding World account already! 😊
Yeah it kind of came out of nowhere, but didn't seem to gain much traction or attention. It's a cool idea in concept, but probably required too many different accessories for most parents to actually be interested for their kids.

Yeah it just required so many peripherals to make it work. PS3 + PS Eye + Move + Wonderbook...easy to see why it didn't take off with parents.
Writers of Magic Awakened used the short intro from this game to create a storyline for the whole season about Miranda Goshawk
