I think Quidditch Champions has an amazing foundation and the structure is just made to be built up overtime. I understand the upset fans who wanted it to be a 1:1 interpretation of the lore accurate Quidditch but I see why they made the changes. Having 2 beaters would almost always result in 1 person camping whoever has the quaffle and the other camping the keeper or seeker. The whole snitch changes are obvious too, however I really hope they make a custom match mode where you can choose how many points the snitch is worth or set it to happen at a specific time in the match. Overall, the game is exactly what I wanted a qudditch game to be. I've seen many people compare it to World Cup and feel its a downgrade due to no combos or cinematics and I wish they'd consider the fact that World Cup was made as a single player game in mind. It would be torture if every 10 seconds we had to sit through short cutscenes and most the gameplay was focused on CPU teammates (which quite a few people don't want here) so combos were capable. The only thing I believe World Cup does better is the amazing and gorgeous stadiums and fields, I hope we get a lot of different variations and maybe some with hidden nooks and crannies.
I agree with the cutscenes being removed, but I wish that they would have somehow captured the different personalities that each team in World Cup had. I know the cutscenes factor into that personality but I dislike that I can only play as my 6 person custom team. I wish each team had unique players and personalities based on who they are / represent. You can play against these custom teams but you cant just select one and use their players. I also wish the career mode was longer, I beat it twice in like 3 hours, so I hope they add more tournaments and the ability to choose whatever team you want in future updates. Asking them to add personalities to each team might be a bit much, but at least let me use the team.
@@itizamystery Nah, I don't think that'd be asking for too much. Even in the campaigns they kind of give off a vibe that each team plays a certain way be they aggressive, strategic, defensive, etc. Considering we have customization options for things like wands when we only see wands during emotes or victory poses, they should have given us another one for playstyles. Then depending on the style it could change certain animations to give each player the feeling of being different. Not all of us want to play as the happy-go-lucky characters portrayed. Making tackles look like punches or being able to hear an evil laugh whenever you score a goal or hit someone with a bludger could make all the difference.
@@Eanakba I'll admit that I wish they would have gone with something that allowed for a bit more detailed, especially when you look at Fred/George and the literal only difference is the tiniest movement of hair. They really could have allowed them to have the same outfit but with changes to show differences like pants scrunched up or something. Aside from that though, I wonder if they went with a more cartoony version to separate itself from Hogwarts Legacy even more. People already think this game was a removed feature from HL despite it being made by different studios.
3v3 is fun but personally I can't wait for the 6v6. The close beta they had like last year was 6v6 and was some of the most fun I've had, keeper was also always involved having to place the speed buffs around teammates or enemies when they were closing in, hope it's coming out soon.
@@guilhermepinheiro5342 They HAVE to change the rules a bit for the game to be enjoyable. For example, 150 points for the snitch? That will make the seeker the only really important player on the field and that won’t be fun. Also, having 2 beaters will just make the game so unenjoyable as it will be far to easy for one just to target the keeper all game and the other targeting the rest. It’s not so bad at the moment because most people are still learning the game, but I’ve already encountered a couple of excellent beaters. Having 2 of them, it will be almost unplayable for everyone else. The game definitely deviated slightly from the books, but in my opinion after hours already playing the game, that was an absolute necessity for the overall enjoyment of the game
@ThomasIstLiebe-GamingLove I don't understand what this season stuff is. Theres so much clutter and tabs that make absolutely no sense to me. The only things that make sense to me are the tournaments, the multiplayer and the skill points/brooms
@@Liberavenhave you ever played any other pvp games like rocket league for one example? Seasons are what developers use to encourage people to keep playing. Every season has cool things to unlock at every level like the moonstones or gold or cosmetics. So they do a “new season” each year with different themes and new items to unlock so people stay engaged and motivated to keep playing. It’s a popular model and usually works well if the gameplay is good enough. The “challenges” tab is also a really good way to unlock stuff, take some time diving into it. I know it’s a lot of menus but you can get new brooms and stuff for completing those challenges. Once you get used to it, it all makes sense. I just need them to fix all the stupid bugs on Xbox!!
I expected to enjoy this game, because Quidditch is cool and i used to be one of the people disappointed, that it wasn't part of legacy. That being said, I am not usually big into sports games or even competitve games, so I didn't think I would put a ton of time into it. God damn did they deliver. It's honestly been years since i played a new game that just FEELS this good. Of course it's not perfect, but it gets pretty much all the important bits right, and some of them, the flying first and foremost they nailed perfectly. Even as someone who wouldn't exactly be considered the target audience, this completely won me over. I will now forever defend the decision to cut quidditch from legacy and give its own game. They have earned that.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I know people expect me to like every Potter game but i legitimately was not expecting to enjoy it this much 😂 The mechanics are so good.
People always complain about something they can’t do better. This game is amazing and in my opinion I don’t care that it wasn’t a part of Hogwarts Legacy for the simple fact that Quidditch has always been its own game.
I’m torn. While it’s not that big a deal that it’s a separate game that wasn’t part of Legacy (Legacy was already a MASSIVE game), back in the day, many games, even ones that were good and had a lot of content in the base-game, had plenty of comprehensive and well-fleshed-out minigames. FFX and Blitzball definitely come to mind. 🤷♂️
To everyone complaining about the snitch, game mechanics are complicated. They HAD to change it to 30 points, otherwise the mechanics of the game wud be broken. If the first person to snitch wins, then matches would only last like 2 min. Its not a big deal, catching it pretty mych still puts u in a strong lead, but it gives the gamers a chance to enjoy matches for longer and more fair. Game is awseome. I love rocket league, but honestly, harry potter champions is kinda more fun 😅
Some games the beaters are so good and the seekers are bumping each other so much that there’s only enough time for one snitch. As the seeker you can only catch the snitch if you’re ahead of the other seeker, even if the other seeker has 100% snitch meter, so playing through an actual neck and neck race with the seekers bumping each other for a chance to win the game just feels incredibly authentic to quidditch and it’s incredible what they were able to accomplish.
At first the game was kicking my butt, it took some getting used to before I finally got the hang of it. Now I'm crushing it. You just have to persevere and the game becomes quite addictive. I only wish it was a little more impressive graphically, but everything else is fantastic.
to be honest i wasn't expecting to like the game since i'm not that much into sports games but man, i really enjoy the heck out of it ! is it perfect or entirely lore accurate, no but it's so much fun to play !
Keeping the keeper and seeker entertained throughout the game is easy: Make Keepers have more time to place boosts, in a way that can actually strategize the game, luring the chasers of your team to strategic positions, maybe by giving the keeper a more panoramic view of the game upon request, and voice lines or stamps to position players. Alternatively, you could give the Keeper the ability to switch with the second, missing beater, to play offense at the other side of the field when the quaffle is out there, and leave the original beater closer to the home hoops. To make beaters less annoying if there were two, instead of being able to "summon" a bludgeon, you will need to chase them and then direct them as you hit them. As for the Seeker, to make them have something to do throughout the whole game, remove the hint arrow pointing to the snitch, and just make it leave a trail, so they would constantly be looking for it. Also, they could make the process of finding it in the first place longer, by actually surveying the pitch longer listening for the sound and following the glint only.
The lack of story is what deters me, in addition to my old lady fine motor issues in operating the controls. What Hogwarts Legacy got right (in attracting the HP IP fans) is STORY, and there was plenty of it. At its heart, this IP is all about story and connecting us emotionally to invest time in the lives of our favorite characters. A pure sports game loses my attention quickly without a good story attached to it.
I highly doubt that this game was intended to have an extensive story or lore at all, it’s a competition game at its core and their trying to break into that field, adding story would deter more of the general audience.
I really do like this game, but I do feel it get's repetitive, and im not the type to play PVP. So far I have gotten through most of the cups, (Working on Tri Wiz now.) and I'm enjoying the game. Beater seriously surprised me and I absolutely love it.
It will definitely be repetitive if you don't play PvP. Once you've played through things, you've seen it all. Once you understand how enemy AI works, then nothing is gonna be new. PvP is what makes all the variations depending on how good and how your opponents play. I really hope this game becomes an eSport.
@bukojoetheslapsoils8273 I just don't see it as a more competitive game than FIFA or Rocket League. Especially with the latter being a free game. If they made it so that there is minimum assistance and you actually had to work for tackles and throws, they yea maybe, but at the moment the game isn't dynamic enough. The game is too rigid and assisted compared to Rocket League where you have to make micro adjustments for every single thing in the game due to the ball physics
I would highly recommend trying PvP. There are some really good chasers out there, but I main beater and love taking out opposing chasers going after our chasers who hold the quaffle
Things I'd love to see which I feel we'll likely get over time: More single-player leagues to play in. I'd love to see the British league with all the teams, especially if we get it as a full league where you play against every other team twice. But also it'd be great to see other national leagues like the French or Brazilian, or even international leagues like safe a Quidditch version of UEFA or the Copa. Oh and of course other school leagues. More national teams teams for the World Cup. More stadiums. This'll likely happen. We have descriptions of a couple of the British league teams' grounds so we might get more of them. But also would love to see Quidditch stadiums for Ilvermorny, Castlebruxo, Koldovstoretz, and Mahoutokoro. More character skins. Again this one will likely happen. But getting Krum, and other famous Quidditch players as optional skins would be cool. There is something I'd love to see which may not happen though, and that is environmental effects. For example I'd like it if during heavy rain the beater can't target as far away, in hail you could take a small amount of damage if you use a speed boost, and during a thunderstorm you get the heavy rain effect plus the added danger of a bolt of lightning once every 30 seconds. A weather system that had game effects would be great for single player as well as the more casual online games and just add an extra layer of complexity to the game. Otherwise I think the game looks to have a solid base to build off of and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.
The matchmaking issues are entirely because everyone wants to play beater and seeker. Not only do I queue instantly as a keeper, but I’m almost always joining a game that’s already started. I don’t mind though because I love being able to play keeper and turn the tides with a few good saves. However, this makes me very nervous for 6v6 and I hope they add some sort of priority system where you’re not just queuing for a single position.
Just so I can nerd out Who played quidditch world cup? I grew up on it . I loved it so much, this feels like an advanced spiritual successor to a true lover of the Harry Potter Universe, god forbid the meta gamers are unhappy, this is a great game that encapsulated my love for QWC that I grew up with, but more strategy and depth than I expected when i impulse bought it and I'm so happy I did Also whats everyones opinion on the new map coming in (i think forbidden forest) in october
I like the game but to me it gets rather uninteresting. After playing for 30 minutes you can probably beat every team on hardest settings pretty easily. The campaign mode just seems a bit bland and it definitely needs some touch ups imo. I would like to see a more engaging career mode. Where you actually have to practise, choose teammates that are doing tryouts, learn new tricks and skills over time, etc.
So for the first two days I was intimidated by all the positions, but once I got the controls for chaser and seeker down…. Nothing is more fun than chasing that ball hahaha
I didn’t have much of a desire to play this game but a friend talked me into it and I’m slowly getting addicted. Hope they continue adding content and it has a steady player base 🙏
I watched the initial stream of yours whilst my game was downloading. The roles are great in game and function very well imo. Seeker is my favourite by far. I do see them adding microtransactions in the future but probably only after the nintendo switch release. The game is great though and the fact you guys on PS get it for free is 10/10. The more, the merrier.
@@rocknroll1973 they could quite easily change their mind. This is Warner Bro's were talking about so it wouldn't surprise me if they backtrack after the switch release as that is when the player base will be highest
it seems the best parts of the old worldcup title was: -team combos -differing, interesting, and varied locations 20 years on and somehow they missed this - I've heard there's a lot of improvements to the overall balance of the gameplay which is great, still it's kind of crazy that gaming tech and culture can progress so much and they still miss these obvious pieces of value which drive core audience engagement, crazy world
The BIGGEST and most needed change is regarding the Snitch. Catching it should not reset the match. It’s incredibly infuriating to be in possession of the Quaffle just to have the game reset when the Snitch is caught.
My only gripe with this game is it's giving me carpel tunnel lol. My fingers are shot after like 10 back to back matches. The constant movement is crazy. You're always looking, always moving, always thinking.
My left thumb was hurting so badly after the first few hours. Switched from “sharpshooter,” which is the default button layout, to “broom racer” and it is soooo much more comfortable. Takes a minute to relearn the controls, but I def prefer the latter.
I love 3v3 because I don't get to be stuck at the goal. Throwing buffs and debuffs is fine and all but being able to go out and score some goals is even better!
Be cool if they could add in themed matches based on actual lore, so like famous in-universe teams battling each other and stuff. Definitely more stadiums would be nice, mainly for the World Cup mode, I feel like in the World Cup mode you should fight people in their nations pitches and then build to notable minor cup matches in the world that then leads to the ultimate World Cup reward and that stadium. Just feels weird that the World Cup mode takes place entirely in the single stadium. The other modes had decent progression. This is a longshot, but some mode to walk around as your preferred team player and maybe even fly around and dick around, they could put minor collectibles and shit here and maybe practice mini-games and other things. Maybe put a lot of what’s in that main menu hub in a playable environment, if you’re in a party with friends they can chill and hang out here too.
I sure hope it never gets shut down! This is the kind of Harry Potter game that needs to be available to enjoy forever! Also, is there a mode that lets you freely fly around the quidditch stadium?
They could always add a different mode to make it more accurate to the books for people who want that. Maybe make each ring worth different points lowest to highest 10,20,30. Increase the score cap. Then only let the snitch appear once, with a higher difficulty, and with the ability to end the game.
It does seem like a fun game and I am interested but I want an offline mode. When I purchase a game I expect to own that game and be able to play single player long into the future on my system regardless of what happens to online multiplayer servers in the future. It does look fun and I do want to play but this server stuff even for single player has be concerned.
I definitely want more stadiums. They definitely used the Bulgarian and French stadium designs from world cup for durmstrang and beauxbatons, but then no international stadiums. And idk why there isn't the option to pick Ireland or Bulgaria. But I do really enjoy the gameplay
the snitch on advance or higher in campaign is no joke. they are more twitchy which makes me happy because on normal or lower they just ran the same circle around the pitch which was lame.. and the beaters are persistent too. so campaign it self is quite fun to play.
I would note they are likely going to do microtransactions. Likely the keys will have a paid option (still trickle in for free via quests) maybe even ways to just buy gold too (which they kinda have with the deluxe giving 2k gold) season passes will likely be paid too. Its been common for games to try and give the first season for free (note its called season 0) then start the charging on following seasons. Its like a try me sampler.
I'm really loving this game but I've noticed that matchmaking is slower if you want to play as a beater or a seeker, not many people enjoy being a keeper. If you pick the keeper class or the "pick any role" option you'll find a game in seconds and I've seen people leave when they realize they're playing keeper. I love this game but the developers need to tweak something here.
Tbh I don't care if I need to fly around as a seeker just searching for the snitch until its released(with no announcement for the snitch being released) as long as they make the snitch worth a little more than 30 points but also make it more challenging to catch
The game is overall good i just dont like having to wait a while for the multiplayer lobbies. So far im trophy hunting and im at 26 out of 32 in only 2 days that i have played it. Will try to get platinum on this
I'm having a blast with this game! I've always wanted to play as a beater and it is so satisfying to eliminate the opposing team with my bludgers! One bludger and a tackle will take them out almost every time with the right skills!
how about a 5v5 with a chaser / seeker switch role. So the player is chaser until the snitch appears and then swaps to seeker. That way you also have the simple 5v5 online competitive setup so its gonna be much more engaging for groups of 5 friends as most online multiplayer games are 5v5
I agree with everything! Loved it already during Quidditch Champions🧙🏼♂️However, I would love to see a ”lore gamemode” where we play according to the rules of Quidditch. The potential is big, just imagine national teams that we already are know about to international teams.
Hey Retro! Here’s my few little comments. I think the change in rules actually makes quidditch more “realistic” sport and required if it’s going to be used for esports which I agree I can see this easily. I am really enjoying the game and how it plays. I’ve been thinking a lot about how long it takes to make games lately and how that effects the companies that make them. If I were Portkey Games I would be looking to try to re-use this engine in other games where you can apply this as a section of there games like Hogwarts legacy 2 maybe. Passing in assets into the engine.Making the other studios work together to make reusable products if they are part of the WB games family. Then re-use it if the system turns out to be successful. My worry is that if games continue to takes as long as they do it will turn companies off in making AAA games. Can’t praise this game enough though!
I'd really like it if they let you make your own team, and team name. Like there are 50 states, 50 team in one country (look at basketball and football). GO SKUNK APES! (Florida's team
This game is a blast. I was a little disappointed when there was no quidditch in hogwarts legacy, but I got over it really quick because there were so many amazing things to do. I can't stop playing Harry Potter quidditch Champions.
I just really want more maps and “teams”. I’m sure they will continue to expand but I do think there should have been more content at launch. Other than that it’s a very fun and refreshing game
I personally love 3v3. It not only is a perfect balance for competitive play, but having the option to switch between two positions, create a meta-in itself. Do you switch to a beater to defend your teammate or switch to get a pass and score yourself. Leaving the other position open leaves it up to the AI, which is obviously unreliable and a great way to balance that decision making.
Overall, I’m loving the hell out of this game and if they add 6V6 i’m sure it’ll be a fun chaos. But not something I would play and take seriously. 3v3 needs ranked ASAP
One thing I do wish is that the barriers were extended a bit, both outward and above, but I understand why they didn’t do that. But it would be really cool to fly between the rafters abd the tall stands. I understand that it would be very hard to chase a snitch between those while balancing the ability to have beaters hit you in those rafters
Good move to change the snitch from being 150 and instant game over to 30 and you play on. The books rules worked from a story standpoint as it allowed those dramatic finishes, but from an actual sporting standpoint it made very little sense. Like it’s kinda silly you can be stomping someone like 140-0, but then some rich kid on the most expensive broom in the world can just catch the snitch and you lose instantly. Speaking of brooms it’s actually pretty dumb they even allow different levels of brooms to be used rather than uniform where everyone has to compete with the same brooms. Like surely having a Firebolt or a Nimbus 2000/2001 should be like a wizarding PED when the kids you’re going against have like clean sweeps or comets right?
Also, this game needs MODES. A mode that is more focused on strategy, for instance, with a perspective further from the player's head. Maybe another mode with longer matches 150 to 200 points and 15 to 20 minutes
I’ll be honest, there are some fair criticisms. Yes the graphics is a bit weird. It does give somewhat mobile game vibes and looks. However, it is very much feature and quality packed. That of a PC game. They did very well with the design. However, this game has been a blast so far. I give it a 8/10 so far.
They still got the Ravenclaw mascot wrong though... And I personally don't like how the controls were changed from earlier playtests. Not the biggest gripes, for sure, but it just isn't very high on my game priority list.
The only thing that annoys me is that the League teams of Britain and Ireland aren't playable. I want to play as the Wimborne Wasps in a big league, not this weird Triwizard Cup. And of course, the fact that Ireland are once again snubbed is outrageous!
I am loving the game, the mechanics, it's so easy to pick up but very game get's deeper and harder to master, online matches are a blast when playing with opponents that are getting the hang of it, I played a thrilling match where at the end of the timer we were even, both teams catched the snitch, we were like 90-90, and then sudden death post match, first team to score or grab the snitch would win, the stakes were high, the adrenaline too, it was such a blast! I hope more people gets to pick it up! I feel like the season pass is slow to level up, even with the 2x experience boost on the weekend, aside from that, it's a such a joy!
This game exceeded my expectations by miles! Love the online gameplay especially, and perhaps they’ll add a 6v6 mode aswell in the future. Hopefully the game will seep it’s way to the broader community, because I agree with you that it could be, with possibly some minor tweaks and additions, e-sport material!
Another thing I'd change is just make sure people in the team are wearing the same colors, the colors of a team, like any sports game there is. I mean, come on! The players esch choose a team and the system sorts which one would be the choice for that team. Red vs. Blue where there's so many cool wizarding teams and possibilities is so lame.
This is fantastic! Don't see why they couldn't include this in Hogwarts Legacy, even with online leaderboards. Only reason must've been time/budget constraints.
I can’t wait to play this game!! I’m currently going through the old PlayStation games in order first. Just about to finish Prisoner of Azkaban on my old PS2. Then I’ll suffer through GOF hopefully quickly. Then I can get to mother other 2 fav. OOP & HBP on.. I’m hoping to get all 8 games finished before Christmas and then play this. It’ll be my Christmas gift I’ve asked for from my husband lol. While I’m playing I’m listening to your other playthroughs in the background and they are GREAT!. Will you be doing the Lego games too eventually???
It's odd, I'm not usually a multiplayer guy but this game makes me want to play multiplayer more than the solo stuff. On day one I jumped straight into multiplayer, I never do that ever. Boggles my brains. Also I agree it should've been a separate game mode would've been a lot harder to integrate it with Legacy even as a separate module.
The Ppl complaining wasn’t around fa the 1st Quidditch game so they opinion don’t matter. This fa the day 1 fans. I remember playin Quidditch fa hours on GameCube. This one’s even more Littt🔥🔥🔥
You should be allowed to adjust settings. Im talking like advaned dexterity on bludgers, Snitch 150 pts, etc. You can tailor it so that 150 pt Snitch is viable. Honestly, Harry Potter 1 Quidditch was the Best. Snitch literally had a role in FINDING THE SNITCH. Seeker in multiplayer was literally looking for Snitch flying around. This is PARAMOUNT in the Harry Potter Quidditch atmosphere. It just feels like Legacy and Quidditch Champions are cash grabs and didn't really understand nor pursue proper synthesis with Harry Potter World
Really good game. Am I alone in thinking that keepers need a little bit of a buff for high level play? Chasers are already finding ways to beat keepers 9 times out of 10
I think it would be cool if they had a book accurate mode with two beaters, 150 point snitch, and no time limit. The Harry Potter PS2 games balanced the snitch by having you play three matches, and the house with the most points accumulated from the three matches against the other houses wins the quidditch cup.
Nobody is going to play a match that long I've seen people leave after being down 20 points plus most people can barely dodge one bludger two would be impossible
Nobody would play the game that long I've seen people leave after being down 20 points plus people can barely dodge one bludger two would be impossible
I’m enjoying it but feel like it could have been something so much more! Imagine fifa but on brooms, with pro teams and different leagues, realistic commentary, different locations. Hopefully these are all things they can add. Maybe other broom activities like races and stuff too!
Giving it a year for bugs and updates, do you think this game would be good for me as a relatively new gamer who plays on PC? I got bored with hogwarts legacy because there was so much that is blocked until you make progress and so little content. You basically have no choice but to play it the same exact way every time and it took me only a couple of weeks to complete the game. I guess what I'm asking is, would this be exciting and replayable?
The problem with this game, as any other competitive multiplayer game is the entry pay. People will not pay 20 bucks (or more) to play a competitive multiplayer game when there are multiple free options. I agree that competitive sports is not an over saturated market as 5v5 hero shooter but still. The only people that i think would pass the $20 barrier is people that is REALLY interested in a QUIDDITCH game. That is really niche. This is evident just looking at player count, the game only having 2.000 players. Comparing that to the 10k players Efootball has or the whopping 30k Rocket League has only comes to light that capitalizing ONLY in quidditch is not really good marketing. I really looked forward for the game, but im not paying 20 bucks for a game that (if continues this path) will be dead in a month.
I'll take a standalone quidditch game over a thrown in mini game version for hogwarts legacy. We all remember how bad quidditch was in the Harry Potter tie-in games. The standalone quidditch world cup game from the early 2000s is why it needs to he a standalone.
Im honestly glad we dont have quidditch on HL. the broom flying in that game is janky and awkward looking, i could never imagine a full lobby of that and how awful it would look, plus it would 100% be buggy
I’ve been playing it every morning and evening since release, it’s really enjoyable specially if you experiment with the mechanics, I’m sure it will only get better with updates and content
seeing that WB just shut down the magic awakened servers after only a year and many people spent money on that game.... Those were harry potter fans that just got burned by WB I dont see them wanting to hop on this so soon.... especially because it was a hot topic in chat. People were mad
In only would’ve bought it, if it weren’t for all the playtests. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and I am sad to say the gameplay just doesn’t feel fun unless you’re playing with a team full of friends. People don’t pass and they ball hog, and seeker is pretty annoying at how you can clearly be in a position where you should catch it but the game doesn’t want it to end so early they give it supernatural speed
I haven’t had time to play yet, but I bought the game to support the Portkey brand because I enjoy what they do. Glad you enjoyed it! I’m unhinged and bought a PS membership for a month just to get the Firebolt Supreme broom skin 😂 Do you know if I’ll get to keep the broom skin when I end the monthly membership (I’m not much of a gamer and bought a PS just for Hogwarts Legacy)? Cheers!
I'm a book purist, I call myself that proudly but these changes are SO DAMN GOOD! I think many diehard fans are agreeing that with me.

Then depending on the style it could change certain animations to give each player the feeling of being different. Not all of us want to play as the happy-go-lucky characters portrayed. Making tackles look like punches or being able to hear an evil laugh whenever you score a goal or hit someone with a bludger could make all the difference.
art direction is the main thing world cup has over this, the characters look like they're for the meta quest and that bothers tf out of me
@@Eanakba I'll admit that I wish they would have gone with something that allowed for a bit more detailed, especially when you look at Fred/George and the literal only difference is the tiniest movement of hair.
Ye it will be really cool and competitive
Good to hear! What about seeker? Did they just spectate until the snitch arrived?
In the book/movies its 7 players..
@@guilhermepinheiro5342
They HAVE to change the rules a bit for the game to be enjoyable.
@@JDTStagg88yep
Offline for single player is a necessity, there should be no reason I have to connect to a server to play solo.
I agree but sadly that's just not how it's done nowadays, DRM is way too overused.
They really need to add Ireland & Bulgaria
Maybe with patches
@ThomasIstLiebe-GamingLove I don't understand what this season stuff is. Theres so much clutter and tabs that make absolutely no sense to me. The only things that make sense to me are the tournaments, the multiplayer and the skill points/brooms
Hogwarts legacy looks great , as does this game, but Quidditch should've been added in. Higwarts legacy is missing 10% of its world.
Im glad its a stand alone experience.
You can already see the variation in skill levels and people pushing techniques and formations. It’s so good to see.
Exactly
I’m sooo glad the changed the stupid rule of 150 points. That actually makes the game fun.
why
My only complaint would be I wish they’d add the goal sound from the first movie so it really felt more like a goal than Rocket League
Non game designers can still want more than what we get. We can still call out shit that’s broken and not good. We can still want better.
Glazer
I like the game n all but I hate this argument, I don’t have to be a fucking movie director to say a movie is bad man, stop using this logical fallacy
@@jasongreen6826 I’ll say what I wanna say
To everyone complaining about the snitch, game mechanics are complicated. They HAD to change it to 30 points, otherwise the mechanics of the game wud be broken. If the first person to snitch wins, then matches would only last like 2 min. Its not a big deal, catching it pretty mych still puts u in a strong lead, but it gives the gamers a chance to enjoy matches for longer and more fair. Game is awseome. I love rocket league, but honestly, harry potter champions is kinda more fun 😅
It can be summed up in J.K. Rowling being good at creating a world people love, but not being great at game design.
I agree mate I think the snitch being worth 30 and coming out twice can be a massive swing but doesn’t completely kill the games
The gamea works fine in a book less so in this game game@@kreia187
Some games the beaters are so good and the seekers are bumping each other so much that there’s only enough time for one snitch. As the seeker you can only catch the snitch if you’re ahead of the other seeker, even if the other seeker has 100% snitch meter, so playing through an actual neck and neck race with the seekers bumping each other for a chance to win the game just feels incredibly authentic to quidditch and it’s incredible what they were able to accomplish.
@@LMZ363well said mate!
At first the game was kicking my butt, it took some getting used to before I finally got the hang of it. Now I'm crushing it. You just have to persevere and the game becomes quite addictive. I only wish it was a little more impressive graphically, but everything else is fantastic.
Game is super fun!!!! I really hope they bring a 6v6 and ranked mode!!!
to be honest i wasn't expecting to like the game since i'm not that much into sports games
but man, i really enjoy the heck out of it !
is it perfect or entirely lore accurate, no
but it's so much fun to play !
4:05 Makes sense. The book version was fine for what it was, but aside from very weird situations pretty much only the seeker mattered in that format.
Keeping the keeper and seeker entertained throughout the game is easy:
Make Keepers have more time to place boosts, in a way that can actually strategize the game, luring the chasers of your team to strategic positions, maybe by giving the keeper a more panoramic view of the game upon request, and voice lines or stamps to position players.
I get you with the repetitiveness of this game, but tbh isn't that with most ''sports''-games? though? And it's up to you how you play it.
@@MsMeyara You aren't wrong. It's most sports games. I've been playing it slowly and enjoying it in small doses.
Things I'd love to see which I feel we'll likely get over time:
More single-player leagues to play in.
Just so I can nerd out
Who played quidditch world cup?
I grew up on it . I loved it so much, this feels like an advanced spiritual successor to a true lover of the Harry Potter Universe, god forbid the meta gamers are unhappy, this is a great game that encapsulated my love for QWC that I grew up with, but more strategy and depth than I expected when i impulse bought it and I'm so happy I did
Also whats everyones opinion on the new map coming in (i think forbidden forest) in october
Feel like when the 6v6 drops. The role of seeker would add another beater too the field. Till the snitch drops.
No microtransactions bro. They said so themselves. It's all unlocked through grinding the game
@@rocknroll1973 they could quite easily change their mind. This is Warner Bro's were talking about so it wouldn't surprise me if they backtrack after the switch release as that is when the player base will be highest
@@StuzoG420 I don't think they will
@@rocknroll1973 fair enough. I see it as a possibility but I'd prefer it without micro's for obvious reasons 😂
it seems the best parts of the old worldcup title was:
-team combos
-differing, interesting, and varied locations
20 years on and somehow they missed this - I've heard there's a lot of improvements to the overall balance of the gameplay which is great, still it's kind of crazy that gaming tech and culture can progress so much and they still miss these obvious pieces of value which drive core audience engagement, crazy world
Such a fun game!!
I love this actually so much. I only wish it had 6v6 PvP (I know they said they are working on it) and I would love to see a ranked mode
The BIGGEST and most needed change is regarding the Snitch. Catching it should not reset the match. It’s incredibly infuriating to be in possession of the Quaffle just to have the game reset when the Snitch is caught.
Hey. Would it be better to play on controller or keyboard+mouse?
I’ve always been a controller player but I can see how mouse/keyboard may work pretty well for certain positions (like chaser especially).
My only complaint is combo special move passing needs to return and more stadiums to play in.
I only play as a Keeper/Chaser, and I love playing that position. I'm sure I would enjoy the others, but the challenge of the position is really fun
Not sure if you missed it but at the begging of the game behind your character is a news paper front cover shows Bulgaria Vs Ireland
Already have played over 10 hours of this game lol. So good!!
I’m absolutely loving it. There’s little things here and there I would change and love to see patched, but overall it’s a ton of fun.
Won't last 😂
I definitely want more stadiums.
Someone else is having this problem?
I have active the heroes skins but they not appear in the games at all, anybody knows about this? Its a bug?
Will try to get platinum on this
As someone that loves quidditch more than anything else in the Harry Potter universe. This game was a god send for me.
I hope the seekers will be able to fly outside of the pitch, to make it more of an actual chance and so they’re not just sitting around
I agree with everything! Loved it already during Quidditch Champions🧙🏼♂️However, I would love to see a ”lore gamemode” where we play according to the rules of Quidditch. The potential is big, just imagine national teams that we already are know about to international teams.
Beater FTW!!! It's the position I was looking most forward to playing tbh... And I'm friggin lovin' it..
I really wish they add more outfits to the game like for exemple the quidditch robe from the third movie (best looking quidditch set to me)
I am loving the game, the mechanics, it's so easy to pick up but very game get's deeper and harder to master, online matches are a blast when playing with opponents that are getting the hang of it, I played a thrilling match where at the end of the timer we were even, both teams catched the snitch, we were like 90-90, and then sudden death post match, first team to score or grab the snitch would win, the stakes were high, the adrenaline too, it was such a blast!
Maybe a stupid question but did they say anything about VR? I kind of have problem to play flying stuff without the 3rd dimension.
I’ll wait for the Switch version.
Good to hear you’re enjoying it 👍🏻
I AM A HORRIBLE SEEKER! I love the game though
Seeker is my worst position right now too 😂
The Ppl complaining wasn’t around fa the 1st Quidditch game so they opinion don’t matter. This fa the day 1 fans. I remember playin Quidditch fa hours on GameCube. This one’s even more Littt🔥🔥🔥
I hope they Remaster the Philosopher Stone and Chamber of Secrets Games, Harry Potter in ps1 graphics just works.
6v6 will prob have 2 beaters, and one of those beaters will be chosen to be the seeker when the snitch is released.
Nobody is going to play a match that long I've seen people leave after being down 20 points plus most people can barely dodge one bludger two would be impossible
Nobody would play the game that long I've seen people leave after being down 20 points plus people can barely dodge one bludger two would be impossible
I'm loving it! Besides Keeper, I love the other 3 roles all the same! Easy to get into, but can be incredibly challenging in multiplayer.
Such a fun game, I’ll be playing for a while. Only complaint is 6v6 isn’t a thing yet but I’m happy it’ll be coming later this year
I’m enjoying it but feel like it could have been something so much more! Imagine fifa but on brooms, with pro teams and different leagues, realistic commentary, different locations. Hopefully these are all things they can add. Maybe other broom activities like races and stuff too!
Yeah with enough support, I think we could definitely see those things get added along the way 🤞🏻
Im having so much fun in Quiditch
Dang the halloween event... 😢 ima be missing out...
I played the beta and really enjoyed that. It was super basic even then I loved it. Can't wait to finally play it full version
I’ve been playing it every morning and evening since release, it’s really enjoyable specially if you experiment with the mechanics, I’m sure it will only get better with updates and content
i work in a remote camp setting and game on my steam deck. It’s a shame not having consistent internet means I can’t play this game
Great video, gutted that Ireland isn't playable though.⚡️🧙♂️🎮🍀
seeing that WB just shut down the magic awakened servers after only a year and many people spent money on that game.... Those were harry potter fans that just got burned by WB I dont see them wanting to hop on this so soon.... especially because it was a hot topic in chat. People were mad
Love the Game and don’t care that it’s a separate game than Hogwarts.
Finally Someone With Words That I Can Genuinely Agree With 👍 🙌 👏 💯 🙏 😌
Not a fan of sports but I'm glad this exists and I hope it does well
In only would’ve bought it, if it weren’t for all the playtests.
Dude this game is so awesome.
Cheers!
How do you unlock Ilvermorny?
