Peak summer days. Im flying with the thinnest possible gloves that still offer some protection and touchscreen functionality 😂. I have proper flying gloves and heated ones as well 😊 but not for these 15c at 3km in the air days.
Multiple factors that lead to this. I could have easily extended my circle for 1 second to avoid the close call. But I was already in an established thermal and it was not my responsibility to adapt to him coming in. Second, he gets into unexpected strong lift and gets pushed into me(next turn I extend my circle towards that lift and I get pushed into the seat with a 7m/s climb). That's also the primary reason I ignored him... I fully expected him to come at least 10m bellow me. I also got into the weak lift of the thermal a few seconds before which resulted in our paths crossing in the last seconds. In the end its still his fault for not joining safely into the thermal BUT we can all do better in these situation by just flying a bit more defensively.
@@Itsallgoodtogo I clearly see 4 pilots climbing together in one thermal, turning right and you joining the thermal, cutting their turn in half turning straight against the Axis pilot. You kept turning towards him even when it was absolutely clear you were going to hit him - the guy saved the situation by turning the other way to avoid the collision.
@@FlyingOceanDrop Maybe it looks like this to you because of the very short duration of the clip. In reality the 4 pilots in front were turning in a weaker part of the lift and the axis pilot was joining the faster climbing group in which I was turnign in already.
