Great shadow views of the R44 and I love it and the slow approach to hover to landing and I'm a competitive person who would love to have a landing contest flying with you and see who can hover with smooth movements on controls.
I am afraid the md500 would win- the aircraft has dampers on the skids - so the landing always seems smoother than a 44 - which has rigid landing gear (the dampers are required for fully articulated rotor systems due to ground resonance)
Thanks for the comment - no lunch at Denham - at fairoaks instead (aircraft is based at Denham so it was a day trip south)- there is a video of the flight down - but not through the control zone- around the edge - past Reading
The sound is not the same as the MD500E but unfortunately you have a job to do and you're doing it well and talking about the direction and distance while ATC communication is on hands
Good spot ! Well done! I must say, the video was made a few years back, so I am not quite sure what happened- I can only assume that the audio from the actual flight was no usable ( interference/ distortion etc) and instead we used the atc recording from a previous flight which fit the flight profile - ie approach from the south , hold 27L , cross 27R and onwards!
Well the operating cost of the R44 you're flying is at $190 per hour and Robinson helicopter are remarkably reliable and maintenance free " but unfortunately our MD500 is a $628 per hour, Fuel, insurance, maintenance etc . All in
Opinion needed - I have footage for a night Flight around London / with atc , a training Flight on autos from 5500ft, and a Flight doing some coordination exercises/ circuits on the airfield - which would you like me to upload first
Nice video mate, I didn't know you could fly over Heathrow airport like that.
Here is a longer guide - Heathrow Crossing Helicopter -H9 London heliroutes

Nice video Andy
Thanks Rich !
Good day as you are adjusting to the R44 and it's flight mobility over London and the views are spectacular
I'm looking forward to get back with you on the controls soon this month
I have a video aiming lower at the cockpit that I can upload - plus will try get some different shots this evening on a night navigation Flight

Very interesting nearly flew over my house. Hope you had a nice meal at Biggles Restaurant on the Airfield

Upload the training flight
Is the R44 more sensitive than the MD500 on hovering? Can you get more cockpit views with your flight than just straight forward?

Thanks for the comments and Support Bernard - any further suggestions on videos would be great
Cross behind the BA A380? And then it's not an A380..? Disappointed tbh considering the ATC isn't from this flight

In the Uk - slightly more- but you have the proportions about right - and the advantages and disadvantages
