B'z often play with old Western rock phrases. But it's not because they are imitating or mocking, it's because they respect them. By the way, TAK, the guitarist, has been chosen as a Gibson signature model, and he has been invited to Jimmy Page's birthday events. B'z is the biggest band in Japan, having played with Aerosmith.
B'z consider best in 90's , sadly unknown outside japan, because of internet now i consider them hardrock & southern rock . Still my favorite rock vocalist from japan.
B'z has several variations (a musical term). This is just one example. It is important to discuss whether it is plagiarism or homage, but I think some songs should be recognized as variations.
Tak Matsumoto legend, you remember him, right? Watch "Phantom Love" live, another good one, althou i don't know where can you find a good link, sorry. I remember "The Tings Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go" with the same riff, but is a funky rhythm so i think i heard it from Earth Wind And Fire before, probably, not sure. Also "Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out" sounds like it, a little bit, both are british bands so...
Bad Communication by B'z remembers Trampled Under Foot by Led Zeppelin, a band that B'z admires, but in the end Bad Communication is just... Bad Communication!
This song is a pastiche of Led Zeppelin's Trampled Under Foot. B'z fans claim it's a hommage and have no problem with it, but in my opinion, This is clearly a pastiche. Of course they are respecting Led Zeppelin, but this is blatant. I don't want to say anything bad about them because I'm Japanese, but I think it's embarrassing.
No no no its all wrong dude! Bad Communication is from other matsumoto co-creation " Maria Club" from TM Network! Trampled is a plagirism, the song is Long Train Runnin from Dubbie Brothers
@@leandrovieira392 I'm Japanese and I'm not good at English, so I can't understand your English correctly. In short, the original is "Long Train Runnin" by "Doobie Brothers"? Zeppelin plagiarized it. And B'z stole it further, am I right? Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that.
@@charlesee1981 Bad Communication E.P was obviosly inspired on The Milli Vannili album... The little bit from Trampled Underfoot, a riff, is The "inspiration"... But Bad Communication is "Milli Vanilli - Girl you know its True + TM Network - Maria Club"
