No matter how great you are, attitudes will always comes first, as a pro player, you're supposed to hold an image of an icon, the face of your country, people will defend them using title numbers, how many medals they won, their rank, surely numbers don't lie, but there's a reason why names like Victor Axelson, Chen Long, Lee Chong Wei, Kento Momota, Tai Tzu Ying and Okuhara are very notable, it is because of their humility and being humble. Being humble is a virtue that will make you a more likable and respected person. Respect is something that’s very much needed to make this world a better place. And don't be surprised when sportsman like this is often get bashed, respect is earned not demand. Not just among badminton fans, I bet even other pro badminton players at the same level also will think the same.Not just badminton, this also applies in every sports, e.g football, icons like Messi, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo R9, Kante, Iniesta are not just remembered for their amazing skills in their respective sport, but also their attitude, maturity, sportsmanship and many other aspects. You can disagree all you want, but tell me why these players aren't getting much respect from their sports community other than their own country, while other players may not as successful but are respected by other pro players, referees and badminton fans of every other countries.

The way he provoke looks like one an undisciplined child would do. No sportsmanship, bad conduct, disgusting behaviour. Any person with a right mind should condemn such arrogance and restore morality. I find it very hard to accept that it's not a result of "ill breeding" as much as I want to be respectful.
He does something like this, fine, I'll let it go and respect him. What's got me furious till the point I find the need to comment is his fellow countrymen being unreasonable and always arguing as to almost seems foolish.
When someone says he has bad behaviour, they say its provoking tactic. When someone say such provoking tactic is lack of sportsmanship, they say:
1) On the court they are enemies, off the court they are friends. (Lol, sure, I find this excuse amusing)
2) This is his own life (Well I respect that. its the uneducated fans going around bashing people which I loathe)
3) He makes the game exciting (Well, surely you have a problem if that's the only thing u took away from his games. From where I live, standard of conduct is a thing. But I respect your opinion, just don't go around bashing people who say his conduct is bad. Cuz this is a majority consensus.)
After all this if anyone can still bash me, pls reflect on urself, come back level-headed, and tell me what is wrong with u.

I've commented before on a match where Kevin provoked his opponents Goh/Tan and Tan chose not to shake Kevin's hand after the match was over. While fans of Kevin will say badminton fans who are bothered by his mockering/antics are "soft" let me ask you this, Morten Frost and Gillian Clark also commented on past matches of the Minions saying that Kevin had these "antics" and that he's "toned down" recently. So if these 2 respected players in badminton also found Kevin to be arrogant at one point, are they soft too? Or do they just know how to respect people properly.

I'm sorry since I'm not into badminton that much but what did the opponents actually did to him? Can someone tell me? This video is clearly made up for people to hate kevin,and congratulations i think you fall for it and i understand why. I watched every turnament of kevin/gideon,in the video where the creator said "kevin think" its really push people to hate him,because the fact is the judge really unfair and did him dirty,the opponet wasn't supposed to allowed to have challenge because the game its already moving on,and the opponent is asking for a challenge of a skor that already pass..its really against what a challenge supposed to work. And this is one of the reason why,i can make a whole story just to explain it to you that kevin didn't do it if there is no fire that burn him....belive me when i say i don't happy with kevin's behavior but again there is a reason behind what he did,and he is growing up,i watched his turnament recently and he is change,i don't see any behavior that lead to bad behavior or disrespectful nymore. Okay real question, does he do that everytime? NO. Every matches? NO. He only do that a few times when he got unfair treatment from the umpire. This video just doesn't show it. Incident 1:11 happens because the Dans provokes Kevin in front of the net after they score, and then umpire punish him for fault which was he WASN'T! Incident 4:10 happens because the Dans challenge out the point when the shuttle clearly hit one of the Dans racquette first, that's why he ask for the honesty of the Dans and behave like that, you CAN'T watch here ua-cam.com/video/mKM1fS6TodU/v-deo.html because BWF cut it.
