Glad you covered this for folks. That's what I've heard about chip supply issues, but they've said they need to redesign with the "new" chipset so it will be a long time before they reintroduce this I figure. I agree it will be at the higher price point you suggest, probably match the POD Express, although they will then compete with their IR-2. Hopefully they will get rid of the stopped hinge and make it like the Mustang Micro where it will bend down either way. The way the GO is now the hinge will break too easily as it sticks out. Anyway I've got one, I lucked out a small local guitar shop, Rufus, in Vancouver had a Kat GO in stock and I grabbed it. It's great fun. If people want a great low price modeler the POD Express, is really fun too, I use it as much as the GO.
An excellent alternative is the NUX Mighty Plug Pro. Great features, quality and price. Loving mine for a very long time already and still impressed and not disappointed by it.
I just got mine. Im from Malaysia, yeah it also out of stock here, but somehow only one shop is selling, and it is at retail price! I dont know what to feel, buying only after knowing it should already be discontinued. What if the new one actually will be better and price be similar, like many of their amps? 😅 But well what done is done, I got to contend with what I have right now
I got extremely lucky in July, I randomly checked the guitar center website and there was an open box being sold after being out of stock for weeks. So I got one for $115 while it was being sold on ebay for $300+.
Lots of theories so take your pick : Got pulled as damaging sales of the Boss Katana Gen 3 and too cheap A known quality issue that hasn't emerged fully yet?
I'm thinking there was a patent issue with Fender. There might have been something about the GO that infringed Fender's patent from the first Mustang Micro. The Micro plus looks EERILY similar to the GO...
I think they possibly started losing a lot of sales on their combo amps.
And this is why I avoid anything that needs a separate app. When will they pull the app from the store.
Wow- that really sucks. I LOVE mine. Hope it comes back. I really appreciate the Acoustic amp. The Go sounds great and super convenient.
I bought one on sale yesterday at Manny's in Brisbane. It is awesome. Even better than the Waza Air.
Got mine for $99. When it stops working I will CRY!
Still on sale in Australia i had no problems finding one today
It was a market disruption...it would have made all others Katana versions sell less..kinda seppuku for Boss
I hate the high tech crap. I want to plug it in and play.

I bought one also. But regardless of how good it is, I'm wondering if Roland/Boss felt a little embarrassed about the part supply issue.

Now Fender is trying to fill that gap with the Mustang micro plus.
The problem is the wireless. Different headphones make all the difference. Needs a cord jack

Nice
Fender just came out with the Mustang Micro Plus and they really stepped it up bought one really impressed
My headphone jack in mine is already bad. Used it maybe 2 months then it started eating it.

Cool video but the constant crackling on the box you’re holding was killing me lol I couldn’t finish the video because of it
Your guess is almost a guarantee. Corporations are raising the price of almost everything these days.

No point with Nux mighty plug pro around
What headphones are people using with these?
I use my AKG studio headphones.
