NorthStar Racing, I have an 02 Limited with a 2 1/2 inch lift big tires with serious tread and 1 inch wheel spacers. I replaced the limited slips with lunchbox lockers front and rear. I use it for the beach for fishing and cruising around in the sand pits of South Jersey. Has yet to get stuck. I’m not rock climbing or muddying so it is perfect for me.
Heck it only makes sense to do it with a Libby. They have to be one of the best deals in used cars going cheap, readily available and besides I can say with assurance they are good rigs overall I've owned one I ordered for the wife new and took delivery of in Oct 01. 17 years and the only real issue is two of the window rollers that hold the glass to lift it up or down gave out and had to be replaced. It sucks some gas but that is somewhat illusion because the tank is so small. A bigger tank would have made it more tolerable I believe. I've never kept anything 17 years and worked in dentistry all my life. The wife too. We could buy any damn thing we wanted and did. Lincoln Navigators x 2 in and out, a Suburban, a Escalade, a FourRunner and and a Ford King Ranch pick up all came and went in the time we've had the Jeep. 17 years the Jeep Liberty KJ pre-lowered is still quiet going down the road. Everything including the leather seats looks new. It's not something I'd call cheap at all. We also owned a Cherokee in 92 way back. The KJ is much nicer personally and the braking much better. You find nice Liberty Limited and Renegade packages all over now for very little investment. Compare that to another Jeep model. Besides that it's quite delightful really to pull up on a trail in AR or OK where we live and come across another Jeep model stuck and pull it out with our 'not a real Jeep' Liberty! I rather enjoy that because most people get stuck because they are just crappy drivers. I've had LandCruiser FJ 40s when we lived in AZ on the reservation there doing dentistry on the Indians and a FJ62 in the 80s and honestly the Liberty we own now has revisited all those old haunts and handled them just as well so why anyone would have a problem with it is beyond me. I would like a solid axle but then the Libby is the wife's primary driver. My Jeep has a solid axle front and rear! 17 year going on 18 year Liberty owner and we'd buy another one. In fact I hope to own one of those little CRD's one day.
I had an '06, if you have to have a KJ, these Renegades are the ones to get! I had a blast with it upstate NY. Installed 31" Duratracs and it handled a foot of snow with no problem. Of course, I aired down. 🌨❄🌬 Would choose one of these KJ Renegades over any 4 dr limo Turdler. At least the KJ was meant to be a 4 dr. Btw, I always give the Jeep wave to these KJ Renegades! They are definitely cool.
You should try to find a 2002 Jeep liberty sport. My wife has one and they over engineered it and I can’t get CV axles from a parts store. I gotta get them directly from the dealer because they’re larger than anything. The parts store carries the cradle is huge. Took me six hours to put a starter in because it would only go into a hole the size of your fist one way.
Like seeing stuff out of the norm being modded. I was impressed by a KJ while spending time in AZ a few winters ago. Small lift and it must have had lockers of some sort because it went places I would never believe a Liberty to go. Michigan plate, was that built in Warren, place on 9 mile?
So you guys kept engine and transmission, what about the stock tourqe converter? I've often heard that the stock TC is the weak link in that drive train.
My wife just bought me one cuz I was talking about a four-wheel drive project and she said well it's a Jeep and it's 4-wheel drive so I got it for you I've been playing hell trying to figure out how to do anything with it
I have been wondering this for awhile it's not so mutch related to the jeep for say but how do you guys get away with having your tires stick as far as they do when your on the road how dont you guys get pulled over all the time
Just picked up a blue crd and plan on doing some mods on it but nothing like this. I plan on making mine the everyday driver/wheelin/small rock climber. So far good looking bumpers and roof rack are hard to find. Any suggestions?
@@bdssuspension Too bad you don't sell some portion of this as a kit. Plates/brackets, long arms and trusses w/arm attachment brackets. Kinda of a solid start for a do it yourselfer.
The million dollar question is: how did you manage the ABS with the new tone rings of the front axle so that the vehicle retains functional ABS and ESP. this is by far the least talked problem on all projects involving the Liberty
Easy, get an 05. you get all the refinements to the engine and the new interior and exterior but none of the abs crap on the sports and renegades (i think). my sport's pretty bare bones
Honestly I feel like I’m the only one who likes the KJ’s and wants to build one
You are not alone sir.
Deff not alone sir lol I love my KJ

This is what all KJ owners want.
Thanks for the build specs. I'm going to try to do it with my spare liberty.
How did you make out?
Beautiful creation, congratulations
By far the best SAS KJ I've seen yet
That's A BEAUTIFUL creation. Love it!!!

This is an amazing transformation
i love my 02 KJ never understood why it gets so much hate but its been a blast
Would love a video on how y'all did the front! Like the bumper and fenders etc.
That’s crazy looking..!!! I love it…

Seen the KJ a couple times is pretty Kick-Ass
Such a nice Liberty

How much did this cost you all?
Reminds me of a Sammy/Tracker truggy build. BA.
I want to know how you guys cut the rear fenders off and you don’t see through the body
Where do you take it to in Michigan? Other than up north because there’s mostly sand up north. Lol
Im curious about how much all that would.cost to have done?
Actually 545RFE 5 Speed.
I have an 06...3.7...i want to treat her Soo special...from suspension ...to tires... that alone.give advise🙃
Used an automatic? Just curious on the choice
My wife just bought me one cuz I was talking about a four-wheel drive project and she said well it's a Jeep and it's 4-wheel drive so I got it for you I've been playing hell trying to figure out how to do anything with it
Haven’t seen the Jeep in awhile! Where is at?
I want to do this but can’t find a kit
I actual Did... Because of its small size. Its like the PT Cruiser of Jeeps.
I have been wondering this for awhile it's not so mutch related to the jeep for say but how do you guys get away with having your tires stick as far as they do when your on the road how dont you guys get pulled over all the time
Damm I wish my 05 jeep liberty renegade looked like that
Elyie Florez lol renegades are supposed to look more off road but they look lower to the ground tbh
Same i also have a 05 renegade but i don't have the money to build that.
Did you change anything to the engine and which engine is this ?
Its running the stock 2.8L CRD (Diesel) with a tune
What with this liberty?
Love it cost prohibitive I am guessing but I would run the wheels off it
😍😍😍😍love her!!!so good to go!!!😍😍😍
Would it be possible to order a bolt in version of that roll cage from you guys? Really need one for my 06 Liberty Utility sport.
Anything is possible with money 💰
I felt like a sucker answering "yes!" Plot twist...
That isn't a first gen Liberty, it's a 2nd gen. Eventhough all that was changed is the front bumper/fenders/marker lights
Just picked up a blue crd and plan on doing some mods on it but nothing like this. I plan on making mine the everyday driver/wheelin/small rock climber. So far good looking bumpers and roof rack are hard to find. Any suggestions?
The KJ aftermarket is pretty limited, if you can try to reach out to a local fabricator that can form some metal for you!

Don’t tell my friends but that’s kinda cool 😂
Can i buy this? I got a dollar
I demand that you please
sell me that bumper, please
thanks sir
👍👍👍
XD do my 2004 Jeep Liberty like that lol
It's so cute
El primero en construir un KJ fue Waldys
Help me build mine lole that!!!!

Harris Axer My Libby has none of that from factory..
Easy, get an 05. you get all the refinements to the engine and the new interior and exterior but none of the abs crap on the sports and renegades (i think). my sport's pretty bare bones
Factory jeep hubs should all be the same so it should be plug n play
Want to do a build on kk? Lol.
Can i do my car like that for free . Like ad to you in egypt
Probably too late to up the crd power. EPA crackdown hurt the companies that worked on these.
looks like TOO MUCH, but honestly - mazaing job
رووعه
$spend a lot
I hate my kj. So ugly. Can’t wait to upgrade
Exterior? Extreme&internal parts! internal looks like puppy diarrhea
the girl jeep )))
Obviously you have no taste in looks these things look better than the wrangler and can also Pull more
Sooo you built an ugly version of a JKU...
YESSSSS YOU DID THE CRD DIESEL!!!!!!
