1st snare head sounds amazing.
stg, shit sound perfect , it may be a Evans hd dry fr , sounds like .
This is a novelty item for drums that doesn't seem like it's catching on anytime soon.
Hardly! We've been happy to see growth and market interest on a global level. We're happy to have our drums in more and more drum shops available for demo and love hearing from our customers about their experiences in all sorts of playing scenarios.
@@WelchTuningSystemsInc It isn't about drums, right? The comment you bot replied to is about this useless accessory.
Not sure what you mean. This is entirely about drums, creative opportunities, and efficiency through innovation in a largely stagnant industry. Is it for everyone? Maybe not, and that's okay. But those that have tried our system quickly realize the practicality.
@@WelchTuningSystemsInc The original comment was talking about the drill attachment I believe
Whatever it is , sounds killa
wonderful mechanism!
😍 Aaww!
Dope
tht's AWESOME
Beautiful
Muito linda tbm
Dude I'm just a metal head with a drum kit. If I had something like this on every drum /(it's an 8 piece)
Dude. It would make tuning so fast and even. Lmao. Haters gonna hate. But I still think this is great.
Modern rope tension
I have been greatly intrigued by this system for a while now - although I'll admit that the price of admission is a bit much for me.
There's certianly a promise in changing tuning in such a blistering speed - some 14*7 or 15*5 snares could probably benefit from quickly moving from phat snom type sounds to a more general high-mid snare sound.
Will this system work well with really thick snare heads? Like an Emperor X, because is twice as thick as a regular Ambassador and 7 times as thick as a snare side head and requires more tension, so i worry that when i want to tune it high, the reso head will break before i rech the desired pitch.
it's so simple it had to be edited for time. it's very cool, and every bar with a house kit, should have this. drummers need a tuning ear, it's part of building an ear for what sounds right. but in a lazy way, this is cool.
That sound mmmmmmm
Well, it sound great with the white patch. 👌🏽
Thanks! Of course, the mesh head is just a mesh head for practice. Thanks for watching!
I can just imagine this working with the hooplug 🤤
a lot of haters in the comments . at least you guys are trying to change the game. those bozos could never come up with something genius. keep it up 👍🏼
Thanks for the support! Skepticism is natural, but those who are willing to keep and open mind and TRY something before criticizing it are the ones who will benefit in the end.
@@WelchTuningSystemsInc exactly !!🫡
this is such a cool item. i would definitely pick up one if it wasn’t $700
If you purchase through Sweetwater, they have a no-interest payment plan that helps spread it out over 6 months.
For a snare drum, that is a really reasonable price!
I'd like to see the wire/tuning mechanism! Yes, switching skins is fast, but is it hard to tune individual lugs?
Our system doesn't utilize individual lugs so you don't have to worry about tuning them. All tuning is controlled via the single tuning key.
This is absolutely fantastic, do you also do umm...like diy kits?
I'd love to purchase.
Thanks! And yes, we sell the hardware separately for custom builds: www.welchtuningsystems.com/wts-hardware
🥴🥴🥴 Unbelievable
Isn't that something like the way drums were originally tuned a long time ago
In a way, yes! We've taken a concept that's hundreds (if not thousands) of years old and modernized it for practical, reliable use by today's drummers.
Now time this with switching from sticks to silent sticks… :))
Of course picking up a different set of implements will be faster but that's not always the solution that everyone is looking for. The sound and feel of these heads under the same sticks you're used to using is quite a desirable option to have. Even if you're not switching to practice heads, the simplicity and speed of changing between heads creates quite an opportunity.
looks slick and sounds good. I have no need for it. rods and lugs work just fine
Thanks for the kind words!
What if you want a 70's sound and a modern sound on back to back songs?
Are you guys gonna do a 22, 13, 16 3-piece pack at some point?
We do have plans for a larger shell pack coming this fall. Keep an eye out for announcements across our social channels and website.
메커니즘이 한국의 장구 와 비슷하네요
is the shell interchangeable ? Is that tensioning bracket easily removable ?
The system isn't designed to be moved between multiple drums. While it is theoretically possible, the idea is to install WTS on a drum during the building process and leave it installed. Are you considering having some drums built?
🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔝🥁🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🥁🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔝🔝
Based on the number of edits it took for this to be "in seconds", I'd say "in minutes" is more likely to be true.
This process can be done in less than 2 minutes. The cuts were necessary to properly illustrate what was being done.
i think it pretty innovative but how do you tension top and bottom heads seperately? i like my snare side very tight and batter head medium
You don't need to tension them separately. A thinner drumhead will resonate at a higher pitch than a thicker drumhead at the same tension. Because snare side heads are a fraction of the thickness of even the thinner batter head, they'll naturally be tuned to a higher pitch. We've designed our drums to accommodate this and produce an ultra-wide range of tunings.
what was da first head ??? 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨🔥🔥🔥🔥
Evans Genera Dry
Are those diecast rims?
Yes! Our snares have die cast hoops and toms have triple flanged hoops.
What is this for a snare ???
Our hardware system is available for snares, toms, and bass drums in addition to be offered as part of read-to-play drums. www.wtsdrums.com/
@@WelchTuningSystemsInc Thank you for the information and have a nice day
Go on and make a whole kit. Take all my money.
3pc shell packs are available now! (Snares sold separately) www.welchtuningsystems.com/product-page/wts-epiphany-series-3-pc-shell-pack
Problem is that you can't tune both heads individually.
That's actually a feature- you can tune twice as fast (faster, actually) and with greater consistency.
@@WelchTuningSystemsInc He's talking about tuning the top and bottom head to a different pitch. Your system applies even tension to both so they will both always have the same pitch assuming of course they are the exact same heads.
😅 so that a 800$ practice pad?!
Well that would be a little obscene, but as we've demonstrated here, you can cover the full range of uses quickly and easily. Thanks for watching!
Umm... According to the instructions, don't you have to cut a piece of the metal wire every time that you change a head?
If it's fraying, that's definitely the way to go but you don't *always* need to cut a section off.
Seconds? We can put a life time into seconds.
Indeed, but we mean less than a minute.
In 600 seconds
Less! We did this in just a couple minutes.
This is the thing I consider..BS you buy if you have enough money..why not just have one snare and one practice pad..cheaper faster in change and you can tune your snare once in a couple of weeks or month instead of tune it every time you changed it into a practice pad..or am I wrong
The point here isn't simply that the snare drum can be a performance drum and a practice pad, it's that you can make dramatic changes like this quickly and easily. You could change over and entire set in 10min. This doesn't just go for converting to mesh heads- it could be switching from single-ply to double-ply or any other type of drumhead. The efficiency offers a new range of creative possibilities that simply weren't practical beforehand.
This ain't simple or fast...
Compared to what?
Compared to removing 16 tension rods one at a time and then having to tension them up slowly and evenly to ensure balance while confirming that the head seats properly? This is definitely simpler and faster; a more efficient system by far.
@@WelchTuningSystemsInc Even when you just need to practice. The time used in changing heads and tuning might even make me change my mind already. Great work!
😐
Is this snare drum from Portugal? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
VERY..VERY..OVERPRICED
How so? Developing and producing a unique product requires all sorts of costs beyond using off-the-shelf hardware. We've compromised significantly on the price of the drums in order to keep them realistically in line with other professional-quality drums. We've priced these quite realistically considering the cost of goods, manufacturing, and unique value that they provide. We understand if this might be out of your price range at this time. If that's the case, let us know and we'd be happy to share some options with you.
Waste of time . Just get a pad or another snare and apply the head.
Hardly! In fact, this system wastes LESS time than any other means of changing heads. We just happen to be showcasing the ability to go from a full volume head to a practice head.
