I find it very surprising this B&M Wing pulls 5 Gs and has floater airtime, that's actually insane, I don't care how short it is, I will just marathon it.
It does not pull 5gs. Check coasterstats POV with forces. In the front row, the helix pulls 3.5-3.9g. Still very intense.
@@smuella It does in fact hit 4.9g at the bottom of the immelmann, this is a very short peak moment of course. The helix does give 3.5g for 3 seconds consistently. that's why it's more intense, because it lasts so long compared to the peak which is over before you know it.
Dare I say that I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed Troy. Was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Best wing coaster for sure
Toverland is going places. As soon as they build this and announced their plan for the next 15 years I knew its gonna be the best dutch park at some point
Honestly I don't think it's going to be the best dutch park anytime soon, but who knows. At the moment, Walibi is way ahead in terms of their coaster collection and Efteling is ahead in terms of theming. Yes, Toverland does have a pretty good combination of the both but they need some serious expansions if they wanna beat them in my opinion.
I could see it surpass Walibi with their coasters, because Walibi has 3 really good ones and then some supporting stuff, not all of which is great, while Toverland already has 2 coasters on par, if not above the quality of goliath and lost gravity. And at the rate that Toverland is expanding at, I wouldn’t be surprised if their coaster collection would surpass them in the next 20 years.
However, I don’t see this ever growing beyond the Efteling. Remember, the Efteling is much, much larger than any other park in the NL and also keeps expanding and it’s theming is still miles ahead of Toverland. (Tho Toverland looks really nice as well ofc)
@@NathanHydra yes, interesting point! But remember, the Efteling isnt allowed much more land to build on, the people i kaatsheuvel are about done with it, and the infrastructure sucks to be honest. Yes theyre way bigger, but, toverland can expand faster and more on basically flat land with no restrictions at all
@@Nikx-youtube true, however, the Efteling did get the greenlight a year or so ago for a lot of new land, partly separated from the main park.
And indeed Toverland is in a much calmer location, but I doubt the infrastructure, especially the road network around Sevenum, is suited for a very large park.
@@NathanHydra Toverland is going to build in the next 20 years 100 hacatere
It's often said that Fénix is the best wing coaster in Europe. To me, Flug der Daemonen edges it for being a bit more complete with that demonic knot finale, but you can't beat Fénix for forces and pacing. I ride this a fair bit and I always found the G-forces on the right side to be more intense, as I tend to grey out on the right side but not the left.
If you're wondering about the dragon: the section is themed to Arthurian legend. Morgana, whose heart is frozen, has taken the form of an ice-breathing dragon. Merlin the wizard has summoned his ally, the phoenix, to ride into battle. Simple, but it works.
The helix is honestly one of the most intense elements on any coaster, and its on a wing coaster! Crazy ride but loved it.
What really stuck to my mind from riding Fēnix is how beautifully the sun got reflected by the golden trains into the dark station as they entered it, flooding it with this amazing, warm, indirect lighting.
They are building a Gerstlauer skyfly / airplanes ride in the middle of the helix. Toverland just keeps getting better!
Yea, and they got plenty of room to expand. They are in touch with locals they’re a really good company. Although it’s not my home park it’s definitely my most visited and I visited it since like 2012 when I was younger I saw the park grow and I suspect it to grow even more. Keep your eyes on this park, I mean it
That airtime hill surprised me too. Great ride. Was a nice change from Troy desTroying me with its roughness.
Amazing when it‘s warm in the evening
Absolutely my favorite wing coaster and its also at my home park which is also amazing
The Review I've Been Waiting For!!! Thank You! ♥️♥️♥️
I love that this coaster is really short. It just makes you wanna re-ride and re-ride it over and over again + the way it is now it fits perfectly in the area and if you would wanna make this coaster longer you’d have to change the whole area as well, so overall I think this is the best they could do.
I did this ride 32 times in a row. There was blood coming from my sholders in the end. I LOVE this coaster.
I agree with what uve said!! a Forcefull and fun ride.. even if its a little too short, I was totally impressed after my first experience with it.
Yes so much my favorite coaster in the park
I felt the blood rushing out of my head even just looking at that helix
Thanks for this one!👍 And Merry Christmas from Sweden!🎅
that airtime hill looks awesome. this ride looks short but yet it packs a punch. a wing coaster around this height would fit perfectly at hershey park lol
This is really a great ride.
This is what SeaWorld Orlando needed 😢but I’m still excited for Pipeline
I loved this ride. It's intense but very graceful and gives a great flying sensation. I never greyed out on it though and I rode it three times so it's okay for people who don't like greying out too.
I've only ridden Fenix and Flug der Damonen, luckily just a few weeks apart, and I'm also feeling like Fenix is my favorite out of the 2. While Flug is graceful when it comes to taking it's elements, it lacks the punch Fenix gives. The little airtime hill definitely was a nice surprise, and I loved the far right side seat for the helixes.
I do still want to try other rows and seats down the line, as I didn't get the opportunity to do so when I was there, but luckily I live close enough to just head on over when the weather gets a bit better again. Toverland, as a whole, surprised me, given it's reputation as an overgrown kids playground. But it way outgrew that and I'm stoked to see what they'll do in the future (like, how will having a Skyfly in the helix affect the ride experience. I've heard good things about it, because you'll be soaring closely past the queue of the skyfly, which is apparently quite the intense near-miss).
I loved this coaster. Smooth as butter. great theme, those seats are so comfy. Wing coasters are my new favorite.
Also the day i went almost no queue. Not sure its becaus of a calm day or becaus its a family park...
Anyway, kids were having a blast. But me as enthousiast for coaster, Fenix & Dwervelwind saved my day. becaus the Booster Bikes & Troy were disappointing.
This is my home park and i love 6:21 Fenix
It's at my homepark and rode it a lot. Earlier this year I rode it 45 mins non stop. I dont even get out anymore at that helix😂
It's also still the only wingcoatser I've ridden so I cant compare it to others.
Great Thumbnail Shot!
Awsome!
Concerning the dragon head thing: how do I put this nicely?.. . It's a Fenix.. hence the name of the ride: Fenix. How you could have missed that is beyond me. But I believe there is still hope for you left :)
So thats what I thought at first too, but supposedly it actually is a dragon. Another user commented this, which I thought explained it pretty well: "the section is themed to Arthurian legend. Morgana, whose heart is frozen, has taken the form of an ice-breathing dragon. Merlin the wizard has summoned his ally, the phoenix, to ride into battle."
@@CoasterStudios holy moly. That makes a lot of sense. Look who's the dum dum now 😂
@@bearded_bastard I thought it was a phoenix, too. I wondered why they would put a phoenix above the train which is a phoenix already. So now I know there is a dragon menacing the phoenix. Yeah, why not?
@@CrashBoomBen yeah if you look in the waiting area there’s hints and story’s on the walls of it written in books. But some people can’t read Dutch so that’s why people miss it.
j love ur videos tyler and sarah u am number one
You are right! Best wing coaster in Europe...
Love Fenix one of my favourites in Europe, its the best in Europe even without riding Mandrill Mayhem and Mythica Coaster, not sure if its the best in the world Falcon may be the best but with Fenix its a punchy short ride kinda like Nemesis in a way where once you leave the lift hill it does not stop till the end.
My goodness. I wish America could get more parks with theming like this. It seems as though this level of theming is almost standard in Europe. What an amazing looking experience. I'm glad y'all got back to Europe to experience this!
You guys have velociraptor coaster! Damm 😢
@@Angelo-dp1zt Yeah and we have Phantasialand
I’ve only ridden Wild Eagle and Gatekeeper but I wish more like this were built
Awesome review Taylor. Honestly, everything about this ride is just awesome. Not to mention that the music used in Avalon, Fenix, and Merlin's Quest was written by IMA Score.
I think Fēnix is just great and makes Toverland worth a visit and even worth coming back if you go there mere for the coasters... Unfortunatley Troy has aged and is really rough and booster bike is alright but just tame. You can still have a really fun day in Toverland with the all the rest you'll find there - and Fēnix really adds up to it
Troy is retracked in parts last month and I have to say it's a lot smoother then before. But it's still wood and will age again
@@joopdeschaapheffer Troy is retracked every year, the whole 'its really rough" is nonsense
@Florian I know. But at Halloween I noticed many thought spots, they where gonna 2 weeks ago
@@joopdeschaapheffer yeah here's hoping it will get the titan track treatment but as is its honestly not terrible. Not Wodan obviously but still
We went to Toverland, unfortunately Fēnix was closed. I hope to return one day (I live in Europe so probably in a couple of years)
Hello coster studios friends how are you doing Taylor yes i tolly egee with you and i never rode this ride before and i never been there before but it looks like so much fun and how is the food is it good 👍 happy holidays to you guys and your friends and family and marry Christmas stay safe.
Great Informative Review! Seems to me as an average enjoyable B&M.
it's more intense than an average one
@@rechtebanana I wouldn’t be the judge of that, never ridden.
5 G's on a B&M coaster???? Now that's unheard of. That's like Intimidator 305 kind of G force right there.
Edit: nvm a comment said 4.1 G's but that's still impressive
The very last turn, if you're in the left middle seat, you get trown to the right and the train evens that throw out if you know what I mean! It's a very strange feeling
I haven't ridden this yet, I have only ridden 2 B&M wings and these are Swarm and Raptor, this one looks to be 2nd best, I think that Damonen or how they spell it looks better
Really curious what Toverland will do next thrill coaster wise a park with much potential personally I could see a mack launch coaster fitting well or even a mack mega coaster fitting in what's your thoughts
I personally don’t really like macks. They should probably make a infinity coaster with all that inspiration (like schwur des karnen) they have plenty of room to expand. If Mack makes their launches more intense I would consider it since it’s also good to theme. But I currently think or a launched intamin or some gerstlauer, but who knows
I think that we can all agree that there needs to be more wing costers in the US.
You feeling sick? Voice sounds like we went back in time 5 years 😂 great review though!
I think I had a minor cough at the time this was recorded- maybe it affected my nasal cavities.
ride looks great! also great video as always but just so you know it pulls around 4.1gs even though rcdb says 5 (rcdb is almost never right when it comes to the g forces) and the 4.1 comes from the immelmann and the helix does about 3.9
Thought so. I am pretty sure it would be illegal to have a consistant 5 g's on that helix.
@@mcoodlesfilms9364 not illegal just uncomfortable
@@VECTOR_Coasters As per EU Standards you can't pull those G's for more than a second so putting it in a helix turn would definitely not be legal unless it widens very quickly.
@@johnnamkeh1290 hate to tell you but many rides in the eu pull 4+ gs for pretty long (karnan, slcs, boomerangs, etc)
@@VECTOR_Coasters i meant 5gs
This video might as well just be called roasting gatekeeper!! 😂
Hola taylor and sarah!
This looks like a pretty good ride, but I probably won’t be able to ride it because I’m too tall. So for now, the swarm is on top
It doesn't have a max height
It does have a max body length. Its 195cm Max
@@joopdeschaapheffer where do you have that from
@Cxllen I found it in their app on my phone
@@joopdeschaapheffer yeah I saw
When are you reviewing the ride to happiness?
Sometime in January!
There is no way it pulls up to 5 Gs, it's a literal B&M Wing, if it actually does then you bet I'm making a trip out here.
Its 4.1 actually. But still forcefull
@@joopdeschaapheffer Where did you get 4.1 Gs from?
@@maxhagenauer24 check coaster stats fenix onride with forces. 4.1 is only briefly though.
Lessssssss gooooooooooo!!!
Les go
I think it’s cool you don’t go into a wing over right away
You said you had done every wing coaster in Europe but you have not ridden Valkyria at Liseberg
Valkyria is a dive coaster not a wing coaster
@@CoasterStudios youre right i got them confused
I don’t know if anyone else picked up on this-now hear me out-but I have a theory Taylor doesn’t like Gatekeeper
lol
I'm guessing the animatronic is a phoenix and not a dragon.
I wish i could go to foreign countries for toverland and energylandia, but we dont have enough money sadly
I wanted to like Fēnix more, but it's just too short. If there was a shortcut to the station, it would've been worthwhile, but after 3 rides I just moved on because it wasn't worth the endless walk to and from.
hey, weren’t we promised a top 25 in 2022 🤨
I am waiting till reviews of each of the 'big' rides that we did in Europe this past year are up. I want to give in depth thoughts on each of them before we see them appear in ranking videos. There's still a few more to go :)
Fenix or thunderbird....
RCDB is not always right. No way in hell does a B&M Wing Coaster pull 5g. Check Coasterstats POV with forces for the actual numbers (Helix is 3.5-3.9g).
Medieveal section ist not bad explanation but Merlin come on.... its King Arthur inspired there is no Gandalf there 😝 and yes that Helix is forceful there first time ever I experienced some sort of greyout after re-riding it for a bit😵💫
the dragon in the darkride section has sort of a story to it: the dragon is Morgana she is some sort of ice queen or something. she transformed in her dragon form to escape out of the prison.
Raptor > fenix
pick me! pick me!
