My ex of 9 years that I lived with discarded me and never let me back in. She would pick fights with me over nonsense, and said I have anger problems. Divorced dad with full custody. I dated only once since. I decided to not worry about dating and just focus on raising my young kids. Best time of my life. Now they are grown and off doing their own things. I'm probably too used to not dating now.
I was without a relationship of any kind until I turned 33. We then stayed together for 12 years. In 2019 we divorced (much to my relief...she was impossible). Been alone since. She cured me of my desire to be with a woman. I occasionally have feelings of loneliness...but they're rare. I just look at my past and remember how much better off I am now. The stress and pressure are far too great. Why would I want all that? I already have one full-time job where I work for people who don't care about me but demand that I work hard for them...at least I get some kind of compensation for all of that shit with a paycheck. A relationship would be me going to one thankless job only to come home to another...but this job requires that I pay for it.

I broke up with my ex 5 years ago. A little over a year into our relationship, i started getting a strong feeling of needing to be alone. Finally, a few months later i finally broke up. The thing is, she was the best gf I've ever had. She's very smart and loyal. A year later I hiked the entire AZ Trail which took me 5 months to finish. That was the freest and most peaceful I've ever felt in my life. Just me and nature. I still, have no desire to be in a relationship nor will i force it. Everything will happen the way it's supposed to when it's supposed to.

At 8:00. For me its been several decades. I am 68. I have been "working" on myself for decades. Despite a strict disciplined daily routine of exercise, good diet, meditation, Qigong I suffered a major stroke 7 years ago that left my left side paralyzed. Over the years of hard work I have been able to get my mobility back partially. I walk with a severe limp, and my left hand is partially paralyzed. Playing guitar was my greatest creative outlet throughout my life, but I no longer have the dexterity to play any longer. Certainly this challenge has caused me to grow considerably. I am very resilient, more courageous, self accepting and mature than before. But these attributes do NOT make you more attractive to women. Many people have told me I am inspiration for them, but I am unable to atteact a mate. Women continually reject me. But maybe this a good thing. Being single is far better than being in a terrible relationship.

12y with one woman, 8y of marriage, gone on my own last year, the divorce is planned on later this year. I have never felt so lonely in my life like I felt through the marriage. Now I have time for myself, hobbies etc. Have a lot of(subjectively) money And I'm free to go meet anyone anytime, world is full of good people that are open for acquaintances. There are places for hobbyist, etc. That bring similar people together. When I feel alone, I'm going out to meet people and spend time with them, it's easy to do and it's really all we need.
At 2:00. I sympathize with you with your girlfriend leaving you within a year of your father's death. My father died when I was 19 and my girlfriend dumped me 6 weeks later. During that 6 weeks she was trying to avoid me when she could. It was only recently that I was able to understand why. She saw me cry as a response to my father's passing. For many women, a switch goes off when they see their partner in a vulnerable state. They will never admit to it. I have been single for decades.
The longer you’re single, the more attractive a life without anyone becomes. Being self reliant and self sufficient is the best state to be in. You only have yourself to deal with, and only your demons to contend with. Battles you can win as they are battles you know and expect. Once you understand that and embrace it. I gave up after 25 YEARS of being contually rejected, stood up, flaked out on friendzoned etc. Before my stroke I made 6 figures annually as an independent consultant, I was in shape, I had numerous hobbies such as sailing, skiing, playing music. I have been complimented on my looks many times. I sought counseling to help figure if I was giving off the "wrong" signals. For some of us, despite our best efforts, we are doomed to singledom. Sometimes being single is beyond our control despite our best efforts.

I'm 55 and have been single.Approximately 15 years And i'm content. Something the video did not touch on is the fact that there are a number of men who have chosen to stay singbecause they prefer it. I've been staying single since 2013. Why? Because I know I live with shell-shock/complexed ptsd, but I don't like the latter term as I am not a disorder. I'm a sixties scoop survivor/warrior and until I am better able to control my emotions I will stay single. In hindsight I should have have dealt with the traumas a long time ago. But while the foster parent was still alive we 65 foster kids lived under the threat of death, she told us that if we talked we'd be pushing up daisies. She passed in late 2011 and then the floodgates opened, and a number of them came to me to vent. I know now that I can only fix myself. I am still on my healing journey and I feel I can feel an end to the relentless trauma. It doesn't feel so heavy like it did when I first started my healing journey.

Back in 2012, I was working for the US Navy being sent all over the country sending my paychecks home to pay the bills. I came home to find another man in my house and me being homeless. I lived in my car for a while before I got a place. Since then, i have moved interstate twice, alone, and have not had another relationship. That was 12 years ago. There is nobody left available worth a damn or has any kind of values or morals. I know some great women, and they speak very highly of their husbands\boyfriends. Trust me when I say it gets a little lonely sometimes but I have several hobbies that take my mind off of it. There is a stark difference between being lonely and being alone.

It helps guys get VERY good at keeping a stone face 24/7 and suppressing emotions. I went through a very brief idealistic period around 15 or 16 years of age. All it took was just one bad experience to have me turning around, walking away and never look back again. Always have been a cold and aloof cynic ever since.

I watched this for a different perspective. It seems to me that it's easier for men to be single for long periods of time than women although I obviously can't speak for all women. Just my impression.
My last true relationship was when I was a senior in high school at the age of 19, (2009). I'm 34 now, and from what I noticed during that time was that women were flirting and indulging in dark triad traits. So the women that enter the dark triad traits always search for a man that is equal or at least more extreme into the dark triads. I've hooked up with women that were involved in relationships and some were even engaged or married. I'm not proud of what I did but I was just playing in the field. I've been celibate for a few years now and I can now detect whether or not a woman is genuine or dishonest. Being single and celibate isn't a curse, it's a blessing from God because he's protecting you from repeated mistakes.

Since I divorced my wife I've come to prefer my own company and that of friends and family. I see all around my friends and family with divorces, unhappy, financial problems. That makes me not want to put a toe in that water again. I'm older now and it's not just the women but if they have an ex and kids that's a whole new level of risk and potential misery.
8yrs single, and after that in short a lot of time wasted on trying with other women, I fell in love with someone I wasn’t with but I was in the friendzone, I have been ghosted, the ones that were interested in me was one ex that has cheated on me before and another girl who just bounces from relationship to relationship and I know for a fact she wasn’t loyal. When I walked away from my ex, I had a profound sense of freedom. She was rather toxic, and being with her was a life spent walking on eggshells wondering what was going to set her off. She would explode at me randomly for practically no reason at all. She ended up stalking me for months after the breakup, which was definitely an unpleasant experience as well. I never looked back after the breakup and even though I was single for years afterwards I never regretted my decision to leave.

Thank you for making this. It's been 5 years since my ex left and went back to her family after getting in legal trouble. Since then I've mostly enjoyed the peace and quiet, but I won't deny that I do get lonely on occasion. It especially hit home earlier this year when I was admitted to the hospital. I was without a relationship of any kind until I turned 33. We then stayed together for 12 years. In 2019 we divorced (much to my relief...she was impossible). Been alone since. She cured me of my desire to be with a woman.
I occasionally have feelings of loneliness...but they're rare. I just look at my past and remember how much better off I am now. The stress and pressure are far too great. Why would I want all that?
I already have one full-time job where I work for people who don't care about me but demand that I work hard for them...at least I get some kind of compensation for all of that shit with a paycheck. A relationship would be me going to one thankless job only to come home to another...but this job requires that I pay for it.

I broke up with my ex 5 years ago. A little over a year into our relationship, i started getting a strong feeling of needing to be alone. Finally, a few months later i finally broke up. The thing is, she was the best gf I've ever had. She's very smart and loyal. A year later I hiked the entire AZ Trail which took me 5 months to finish. That was the freest and most peaceful I've ever felt in my life. Just me and nature. I still, have no desire to be in a relationship nor will i force it. Everything will happen the way it's supposed to when it's supposed to.

At 8:00. For me its been several decades. I am 68. I have been "working" on myself for decades. Despite a strict disciplined daily routine of exercise, good diet, meditation, Qigong I suffered a major stroke 7 years ago that left my left side paralyzed. Over the years of hard work I have been able to get my mobility back partially. I walk with a severe limp, and my left hand is partially paralyzed. Playing guitar was my greatest creative outlet throughout my life, but I no longer have the dexterity to play any longer.
Certainly this challenge has caused me to grow considerably. I am very resilient, more courageous, self accepting and mature than before. But these attributes do NOT make you more attractive to women. Many people have told me I am inspiration for them, but I am unable to atteact a mate. Women continually reject me.
But maybe this a good thing. Being single is far better than being in a terrible relationship.

12y with one woman, 8y of marriage, gone on my own last year, the divorce is planned on later this year. I have never felt so lonely in my life like I felt through the marriage. Now I have time for myself, hobbies etc. Have a lot of(subjectively) money And I'm free to go meet anyone anytime, world is full of good people that are open for acquaintances. There are places for hobbyist, etc. That bring similar people together. When I feel alone, I'm going out to meet people and spend time with them, it's easy to do and it's really all we need.

At 2:00. I sympathize with you with your girlfriend leaving you within a year of your father's death. My father died when I was 19 and my girlfriend dumped me 6 weeks later. During that 6 weeks she was trying to avoid me when she could. It was only recently that I was able to understand why. She saw me cry as a response to my father's passing. For many women, a switch goes off when they see their partner in a vulnerable state. They will never admit to it.
I have been single for decades.
The longer you’re single, the more attractive a life without anyone becomes. Being self reliant and self sufficient is the best state to be in. You only have yourself to deal with, and only your demons to contend with. Battles you can win as they are battles you know and expect. Once you understand that and embrace it. Having another person in your life would be a wrench thrown in the cogs of your peace.

I've been staying single since 2013. Why? Because I know I live with shell-shock/complexed ptsd, but I don't like the latter term as I am not a disorder. I'm a sixties scoop survivor/warrior and until I am better able to control my emotions I will stay single. In hindsight I should have have dealt with the traumas a long time ago. But while the foster parent was still alive we 65 foster kids lived under the threat of death, she told us that if we talked we'd be pushing up daisies. She passed in late 2011 and then the floodgates opened, and a number of them came to me to vent. I know now that I can only fix myself. I am still on my healing journey and I feel I can feel an end to the relentless trauma. It doesn't feel so heavy like it did when I first started my healing journey.

For real. I enjoy being single. Im in the U.S. though so maybe our women suck so bad nowadays that its just not worth it. Back in 2012, I was working for the US Navy being sent all over the country sending my paychecks home to pay the bills. I came home to find another man in my house and me being homeless. I lived in my car for a while before I got a place. Since then, i have moved interstate twice, alone, and have not had another relationship. That was 12 years ago. There is nobody left available worth a damn or has any kind of values or morals. I know some great women, and they speak very highly of their husbands\boyfriends. Trust me when I say it gets a little lonely sometimes but I have several hobbies that take my mind off of it. There is a stark difference between being lonely and being alone.

It helps guys get VERY good at keeping a stone face 24/7 and suppressing emotions. I went through a very brief idealistic period around 15 or 16 years of age. All it took was just one bad experience to have me turning around, walking away and never look back again. Always have been a cold and aloof cynic ever since.

I watched this for a different perspective. It seems to me that it's easier for men to be single for long periods of time than women although I obviously can't speak for all women. Just my impression.
My last true relationship was when I was a senior in high school at the age of 19, (2009). I'm 34 now, and from what I noticed during that time was that women were flirting and indulging in dark triad traits. So the women that enter the dark triad traits always search for a man that is equal or at least more extreme into the dark triads. I've hooked up with women that were involved in relationships and some were even engaged or married. I'm not proud of what I did but I was just playing in the field. I've been celibate for a few years now and I can now detect whether or not a woman is genuine or dishonest. Being single and celibate isn't a curse, it's a blessing from God because he's protecting you from repeated mistakes.

Since I divorced my wife I've come to prefer my own company and that of friends and family.
I see all around my friends and family with divorces, unhappy, financial problems. That makes me not want to put a toe in that water again.
I'm older now and it's not just the women but if they have an ex and kids that's a whole new level of risk and potential misery.

8yrs single, and after that in short a lot of time wasted on trying with other women, I fell in love with someone I wasn’t with but I was in the friendzone, I have been ghosted, the ones that were interested in me was one ex that has cheated on me before and another girl who just bounces from relationship to relationship and I know for a fact she wasn’t loyal. I have been told I am decent looking but I’m not in the best shape, I know I am not that desirable, I know I have to work on myself, so I’m not blaming women of why I’m single but at the same time the dating pool is terrible. But I’m at the point where I’m done with trying. Tired of not being a option, I have already given up unfortunately. I will probably try again when I’m financially stable and where I want to be in life
As others in the comment section I have to mention the "in this moment" phrase. I am not willing to go at it again because there is no loialty in women. At least this is my life experience. So the benefits do not match the effort and the uncertainty defenetly outmatch the benefits. I find peace in lonelinese. Can't really say I was in a serious one but I have been without any relationship over 18 years. Basically all my teen ages and adult life so far. I am 34 right now. Was not searching to had. No friends either and minimal contact with other people actually I feel like a hermit or something.

When I walked away from my ex, I had a profound sense of freedom. She was rather toxic, and being with her was a life spent walking on eggshells wondering what was going to set her off. She would explode at me randomly for practically no reason at all. She ended up stalking me for months after the breakup, which was definitely an unpleasant experience as well. I never looked back after the breakup and even though I was single for years afterwards I never regretted my decision to leave.

Thank you for making this. It's been 5 years since my ex left and went back to her family after getting in legal trouble. Since then I've mostly enjoyed the peace and quiet, but I won't deny that I do get lonely on occasion. It especially hit home earlier this year when I was admitted to the hospital. Yes, I go through periods where I think and feel exactly like you describe, but somehow things do have a way of working out. Still, it's VERY encouraging to know I'm not the only one who has gone through what we have mutually experienced. Gladly subscribed!
