i have a bfs, spinning reels, baitcasters. More and more im using a ultra light spinning reel over the bfs. My main issue with bfs is anything 1/16th or below, you have to invest into a much more expensive reel. So the price point just to get a half decent reel that can throw the lighter stuff (1/32nd 1/64th) in my opinion is a big issue. with that said i like using mine for light fishing in brackish water for stripped bass. for me its the ultra light spinning reel.
you were so cute when you use spinning reel on your first time, you grown up so fast, lol, thanks for the mention sir. in my opinion, bfs gears are great for trout fishing, had great satisfaction with them, great video
I think if you compare apples to apples it comes out a little different. On my 2000, 1000, and 500 spinning reels that would be used for the same ultralight applications, BFS reels usually hold just as much, or more line, and have more drag power overall. I have 5 spinning reels setups in various sizes, and I haven't touched them since I discovered BFS! I still usually take 1 spinning combo with me, but I rarely use it. Great vid as always brother!
But your big hands also have a problem keep a thumb on the line and fingers in the grip on the rod. There's always a sacrifice. It's not a perfect grip.
Id say the obvious diff is you can use lighter finesse line under 20-15 lbs more like 2-6 on a spinning reel than you can on a casting reel. Im struggling with a ultralight BFS rod that only wants to cast 15-20 lb line instead of the fineese braided 2-6 lb line. I have a wolf ultra and an ultralight rod.
That's strange. I have a bfs reel and it casts lighter lines like 6lb braided line easily. Normally in my opinion thinner and lighter line is also better for ultralight bfs fishing. Unless you are fishing power bfs, in that case a little heavier line (like 15, 20lb braid) may be better
i stopped using BFS i went back to spinning reel exist SF i like the drag sound and spooling spinning like crazy..also i throw popper with a fly on it and my BFS reel would go nuts when i cast a lure like that has a pendulum affect the bait caster goes nuts and backlashes, i love bfs reels only rounds ones i have a expride bfs rod i paired with my aldebaran shimano but sold that reel then the guy that bought i caught like a 30 pound catfish with it and fought it for like 1 hour i only fish saltwater bay so its very hard to cast when winds are up on BFS and plus we have bonefish and that thing will spool you on bfs if you catch a big one i need to get a bfs conquest reel for my expride bfs rod but i dont have the urge to use BFS right now dont think i will lol maybe one day if i want to switch it up again lol
Let me know your thoughts !!

Im agree with that, hopefully in the future cheaper reels getting better

Love the video brotha great info 🔥
Thank man 👊
I agree 100 percent with the bfs . I have large hands and the 1000 size spinning reels the line roller on the bail would smack me in the knuckles.
Yups,
But your big hands also have a problem keep a thumb on the line and fingers in the grip on the rod. There's always a sacrifice. It's not a perfect grip.

Maybe you need to try different BFS reel ,
