Yeah... Compressed air has an energy density of about 0.1MJ/kg in the best case scenario (liquid air, which is very unlikely to be transported in any consumer vehicle ever, due to the insane risk it is), while gasoline has an energy density of about 46MJ/kg. It means that for 1 kg of fuel you can drive roughly 460x further with gasoline than with air. This is just back of the envelope computation, not even taking into account the huge weight of the compressed air containers and all the inefficiencies of both storage and use... I am not betting much on this "revolutionary technology"...
Ok so your video completely skirts the issue of how the air gets compressed. Pueget obviously used the work by a combustion engine… what is GM’s plan for this? After all, that is where most all of the energy would be applied. This video smells of click bait… not buying what you’re selling unless you show some detail. Go talk with a mechanical engineer lol.
At best, hydrogen has the best energy to physical useable fuel thing that we can make. And it's insanely hard to maintain. There cannot be any missed steps when handling it. Even hopeful at best it has a 33% efficiency loss instead of just using the "energy" that went into making it.
Yup this video is pure bullshit clickbait. The energy density of compressed air is about 500x lower than that of gasoline, it's never replacing it. And there is no conspiracy against this technology lol. It's just useless, that's why we don't use it.
There is no conspiracy. The technology is useless due to the fact that compressed air has about 1/500 of the energy density of gasoline. That's why we don't use it. Simple as that.
I hope it works out but, compressed air is a secondary source of energy with lots of downsides. You still need to burn things to make the energy to compress the air.
bait, similar to compressed natural gas, a vehicle type i actually owned in an F150. The tank would weigh over 700lbs and would run you for about 10min max. They will be 700lbs because it would need to hold over 3000 (3k) psi
The simplicity, low cost and extra long life of an EV engine makes all those "game changer" ICEs nothing but pretty futile efforts to not go belly up... The Big Threes are toast. They are 10 years too late in the EV development...
This is far from new. TaTa has been working on Compressed air power for well over 10 years. But as the video stated, Big oil and the Electric world could care less about what is good for the world. Always has been, always will be, Greed drives the world. Thx for sharing
Compressed air is not free, the energy to compress the air have to come from somewhere and it is usually done by using electric engines. So in reality as I understanding it has more losses and it is less efficient then using the electricity to charge a battery of a EV. Also at the pressures needed for this to work the air pressure containers will be bombs, that will explode when damaged like in a crash. Just a scuba tank with 300bar pressure is equal to 300gram of dynamite when it explodes and these will run much higher pressures and be even more dangerous. So saying that they don`t explode is pure lies, EV`s do not explode like dynamite, this does (even if it is not a explosion's from combustion but from pressure)....

Ty for watching 👍🏽
Ok how does it Compress the air without using some outside energy supply???
Great question. Ty for watching

@timhowell6929
You weren't paying attention. You get the compressed air from the compressed air tanks!!!
How much more vague can you get in explaining the operation.
Ty for watching
So it's heavier, has less range, lower performance, higher maintenance costs and is less reliable than either an EV or ICE. It's bound to catch on!
Typical production from GM 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Compressed air is just an extreamly inefficient battery

Valid point 👍🏽
U may have a point but technology is undefeated.. 🤔🤔
@CarInfluence623 how many atmosphere compression at 147 PSI. And how many thousand degrees in waste heat is produced. That all wastes energy!

True story. Ty for the positive feedback 🙏🏽🙏🏽
How are we going to compress the air? 2 wind turbines for every car?
Ty for watching 😏
Methinks this is full of the material that grows plants. Low torque? Inefficient? WHERE DO YOU GET THE COMPRESSED AIR FROM??????????

if it's still burning ANYTHING, no thanks

dont use pistons use someting simuler to a rotary engine

@@CarInfluence623 Yes it was an interesting video :) I have heard of air driven cars but it has been quiet around them for a long time now.

GM cant even build a car that doesnt fall apart after 2 years do you really think they can pull this off?
LoL
