Thank you for admitting we all make mistakes. Sometimes I often wonder why everything seems so perfect when it is not always. Life goes on and we always do our best.
Mandy a chopped onion in the casserole will work when you don't have french onions. Love the twist on the green bean casserole. Liked them all thank you, and the lady sharing the sublime supper recipe with us all. Have a blessed and fabulous day❤😊
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! My in-laws will be visiting for Easter, and I plan on trying all three of these recipes. I've already ordered my Just Add Butter for our steaks. Thank you for all your hard work and new ideas. You are truly a blessing.
I live in Ohio now but am a southern girl at heart. I was raised in Florida and Columbia SC. We now visit Folly Beach SC often and love seafood. The seafood boil looked absolutely delicious. I wish I was there. Also thank you and Nancy for the green bean casserole. My hubs doesn’t eat green beans but he really liked this one! Thanks Mandy
Hi Mandy, here is a suggestion for saving your hands when crushing crackers. Leave the crackers in the sleeve. With the seam facing up, place the ends of the sleeve in the palm of each hand and press the sleeve of the crackers together toward the center. The seam will open a little from the pressure, but you can then continue to crush the crackers until they are the size of the crackers is what you want. You can then dump the crackers from the opening in the seam.
I have seen you add extra garlic to your recipes because your family likes it. My family really does as well. I recently started buying elephant garlic, because of its huge cloves. Perfect! One clove can season the whole meal!
FYI: Our local Aldi's sells a Cultured Buttermilk Blend which is a dry powder. To use it is mixed with water. I always keep it on hand for those tines I need buttermilk for a recipe.
I had no idea there even was a dry buttermilk, but that makes a lot of sense..lol Thanks! I don’t use buttermilk except in biscuits and waffles/pancakes but I never have any when I want it!
I also keep dry buttermilk on hand. You can get it at aldi or if they are out you can find it in the baking aisle at most grocery stores. I love it too!
Yes! This is what I use. I usually whisk the powder in with the dry ingredients because it has a tendency to clump when I whisk directly into liquid. Definitely store in the fridge after opening. Lasts a long time!
I soak raw chicken in that kind of buttermilk. (note: I mix it in milk, not water. Makes it very rich, if you like that). Makes for such moist and tender chicken!
Mayo and honey make a great fries andckix tenders dip, summer salad dressing for tender garden salad, add a but more honey and use for fruit salad drizzle
OOOOOOMG, I made the seafood boil last night with shrimp and sausage and holy moly, it was such a huge hit. My husband was actually sad that there were no leftovers after feeding 4 of us. I will definitely be making this again. Thank you so much for introducing this recipe to us all.
It sounded like when you asked Gracie if she wanted that cheese, she said "Yeah!" Lol...as always though everything looked delicious. I really enjoy watching you and Steven and the banter you do. I cracked up when Steven did that "Woo!" 💛💛
I do the casserole all the time with broccoli and no dried French onion , just the ritz . Believe me it’s enough crunch and calories and buttery goodness.
I LOVE SHRIMP BOILS!! I live In Wisconsin but had friends that moved her from down south. One summer they had a huge party and filled a whole picnic table with shrimp boil food. It was sooo good! 🤤🤤🤤
This Seafood mix up is yummy no matter what kind of seafood you use. I start with broth or salted water. I have put tomatoes in it and if you double the amt of garlic and cut the pods in half. Boil that garlic forever. The Old Bay makes it like butter. This is basically a crawfish boil. Fish out all the stuff a d dump it on a table outside, covered with several thicknesses of newspaper. Pass the Tabasco and horseradish. Yummy.
I'm from Alabama & someone brought that version of gb casserole to covered night dinners at church when I was little. I'm def craving this now!! Loved it then and sure I will now
This is one of my favorite things to make thanks to you!! (The low country boil)I made it for my parents today and I bet it was the best one yet!! I kept hearing MMM, MMM, MMM while they were eating 🤣 Happy Mothers Day!!
I Would have dusted the top of the green bean cass. with onion powder. I never keep the onions on hand so that would be my "Cheat". I cant wait to try it, it looks delicious! Yum!
U can always make ur own! Julienne some onions n put little buttermilk on top n add self rising flour n fry in little oil! Much better! Easy n less additives!
I really like that you show what you serve with each recipe, often I find a great recipe but I'm like yeah but what goes with it. everything looks so good
Yes I will be using the onions on top because I love them & it has always been my favorite part of the regular green bean casserole. Thanks for this new way to enjoy an old favorite.😋🇺🇸
I think I would mix the butter and crackers together and then put the crackers over the top. Do pour the butter a little at a time and mix as you add so you don't get soggy crackers at the beginning.
I actually crush my sleeve then put in the melted butter give a couple stirs so it all shares the love and sprinkle on top. I've never heard of or used corn however. Everything else is the same. NO French onions; sprinkle some minced onion flakes in your beans. Blessings and much love
I will be trying that book so soon! I have always been intimidated by boils but you have convinced me I can do it!! Thank you! I am totally going to try the green bean casserole for Easter dinner.
A tip I learned from Paula Deen: on crunchy topped casseroles, mix the crackers and melted butter together in its own bowl so that all the topping gets coated. I wasn’t sure what a difference it would make but it really does!
I was thinking the same thing about combining the melted butter and crackers to make the topping uniformly crispy. I'm fussy like that. ~ Anastacia in Cleveland
Great video. Like the green bean twist. Also to answer a question you put up. Love your channel but how many videos a week. Do what you have time for. You have a life so there are many things to take care of. I will watch any of your videos when they come. Don't bust your tail to keep us fans happy
I tried your seafood boil tonight because I had shrimp, scallops, lobster, and kielbasa it was so good thank will definitely make again. Hubby Steven also loved it!! Thank you again and God bless. I watch your videos all the time to get different ideas. ❤️❤️❤️
2 cans of green beans plus a can of corn plus a sleeve of Ritz crackers -- for 3 people -- you'll be eating it for 2 weeks! But, dang, it sure looks good.
Mandy, I love you episodes…buttermilk is fermented. The best substitute is plain yogurt with a little splash of milk to thin …works much better than the acids 🇨🇦 keep cookin sis❤️
OMG, it's been too long since I've had a seafood boil! We used to have these in south Georgia when everything was spread out on a picnic table for everyone to grab. I have to make this one! Thanks for sparking my memory, Mandy!
Steven never seems to fail me with his craziness to make me laugh great job Steven. I think I would leave the onions and corn out but that's just me looks really good tho.
My kids hair the tails! I have a habit of just prying off the tails leaving as much shrimp as possible and you can also make a seafood broth using the shells and tails in the pressure cooker.
Thank you for trying the green bean casserole. I am so happy that y'all enjoyed it
Thank you for sharing it with us! We really enjoyed it as a great twist to Traditional green bean casserole. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
We love it here too Nancy.
Looks like I’m making the Green Bean Casserole for Easter. Looks delicious!

Mandy a chopped onion in the casserole will work when you don't have french onions. Love the twist on the green bean casserole. Liked them all thank you, and the lady sharing the sublime supper recipe with us all. Have a blessed and fabulous day❤😊
I agree. I think the green bean casserole is rich enough as it is with all those Ritz and butter without the added fried onions.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! My in-laws will be visiting for Easter, and I plan on trying all three of these recipes. I've already ordered my Just Add Butter for our steaks. Thank you for all your hard work and new ideas. You are truly a blessing.

We call that boiled dinner, "Frog more Stew". My whole family loves it.
Loved the low country boil! I just learned how to do this - 70+ years young!
I have seen you add extra garlic to your recipes because your family likes it. My family really does as well. I recently started buying elephant garlic, because of its huge cloves. Perfect! One clove can season the whole meal!

Seafood Boil is a very Maryland meal! It's never out of season in my house.

I need to try that green bean casserole! None of my family likes “regular” great bean casserole.
My kids hair the tails! I have a habit of just prying off the tails leaving as much shrimp as possible and you can also make a seafood broth using the shells and tails in the pressure cooker.
