I needed a special size mirror for a project I am doing. I couldn't find the size I needed anywhere, So I was going to buy a larger mirror and cut it down. I found the American Glass and Mirror UA-cam tutorial about glass cutting. Guy did such a good job on the tutorial, I decided to call them up and see if they had the needed size. I was able to purchase the size needed and not worry about possibly breaking up a larger mirror. Nice "Guy", great service.

Cheers, that was really useful - especially the end part about the sound a new cutter should make.

your video was really helpful - I've had my share of challenges trying to save glass and re-using it by cutting it. I hope this helps w my next project...and thanks for having a sense of humor - you a funny guy, Guy ! peace...

Prefer the hybrid Toyo w/TC17 straight & 600 cutting heads for heavy plate
Haven't tried cooking oil...used engine oil and/or transmission fluid with success
even antifreeze with near freezing temperatures

Motor oil would be a better option that you might have handy. We haven't tried cooking oils before. If you try it, let me know how it goes!

Tempered glass doesn't always have a logo on it. Some people who would want tempered shelves or tabletops would not want a logo. We would order them and request No Logo.

if the cut is white the mirror does not break

I'm sure this is a great lesson in glass cutting. I know absolutely nothing about it so my thoughts amount to what I blame my dog for even though I'm the one who stepped in it . . . However if the very expensive pro cutter works no better than the $3 cutter, it may not be a professional . . . And I couldn't get any farther after I was told about everything I wouldn't have or anything close to it.
