The regular TCM cartridge fits in the single stack just fine. The 22 TCMR is for the Glock conversion kits and the RIA MAPP series pistol.

I saw a couple of reviews about the 22-TCM a couple years or more ago against the 5.7. using the Ruger pistol
In one review, the 22-TCM and the 5.7 penetrated a cat 3 vest at 21 ft.
A close as few months ago and going back about a year and a half, Fred Craig was selling off all of his 22-TCM pistols (and other brand pistols), some with combination 9mm barrels and selling off about 20 rifles including the first prototype rifle on gunbroker under the moniker : atomic22.

I’ve got the same pistol that you’ve got. Mine came with both barrels and it fires both types of TCM rounds.
‘StonerCNC’ will make grips for rock island double stacked pistols but they need to know if the serial number is above or below 10,000.
Rock Island made a polymer pistol that looks like a Bul Armory 380 model except it fired the 9R round.
I think the rifle was made to fire the 9R too. They also made a barrel conversion kit for Glocks in the 22-TCM but I couldn’t say which of the two rounds it fired.
Interesting info and thanks for sharing. Yes Paul Harrell did an excellent comparison video including penetration testing on meat targets. Hey Matt neat video. That's an interesting cartridge. Had an opportunity to shoot Mr. Lee's 22TCM 1911 a few years back. Best way I'd describe it is fun! Hardly any recoil, kinda loud and quite the fireball. Wicked cool little round. Thanks for putting out these enjoyable vids Matt!

The failure of RIA/Armscorps was not getting SAAMI specs for it, as a wildcat no one else will touch it. There are some AR uppers for it and a magazine adapter for AR mags to make it fit.

The first batch of rifles had horrible barrels and were recalled. There is a tacticool version I’ve never seen outside of RIA’s website. You can get a barrel made for the Contender or Encore.
TCM is a monster. It will cut down a tree much faster than 9mm and 38 special. The TCM bullet is designed to expand reliably and retain all it's weight without bonding the jacket. That's almost impossible to do at 2100fps but the TCM manages somehow. You get full expansion without compromising penetration. Every other conventional round you get one or the other. There's only one round because you cannot design a better round for cheaper. If it was possible someone would have done it already.

22TCM9R is for a Glock with a 22TCM9R barrel. Glock 9mm Mags dont have enough length, Well not as much as a 1911 /2011 magazine does. So they had to shorten the OAL by 3mm
22 mag is 114 fpe . 22 tcm 373 fpe. so more than double . More than most 9mm .

22 magnum is roughly 315 ftlbs of energy, your numbers are for 22lr so your way off.

Armscor discontinued this, it's a cartridge that will be obsolete in another year or two unfortunately.

@@wyominggunproject head over to cast boolits. Those guys shoot 556 until the case cracks, cut it back to 300BLK, repeat, cut it back and make 22 TCM. Obsolete or not you have an almost inexhaustible supply of parent brass.
@charlesmckinley29 Yeah unfortunately the projectiles are no longer available, I don't thing the 40gr bullets you can still get would fit properly, they are longer and nay cause issues with case capacity, or fitting into the magazines. Either way it's to bad, it could have been a great little varmit cartridge had they marketed it that way maybe they wouldn't have went the way of the doe doe bird ie extinction. Personally I use my .223 as a multi use caliber, I load 40gr bullets with 9ish grains of unique and get great squirrel shooting ammo, no recoil barrel never gets hot and out to 200 yard it absolutely smokes anything from coyotes to ground squirrels, you get so many shots from a pound of powder you won't believe. There's a lot of data out there for reduced loads using shotgun/pistol powders that most people are afraid to try, and frankly it can be dangerous and should only be done by experienced reloaders with knowledge of pressure signs and a system to be absolutely sure you cannot double or triple charge a load, I measure each charge, and immediately seat the bullet, anyway all that said, the tcm is basically obsolete and not worth the effort to reload once the factory supply is gone.

@@wymonwatson1309 Shooting Times and The Firingline both have articles on reloading 22TCM listing bullets other than Armscorps. Accurate powders published data for multiple powders and bullets, they made a TCM powder. All is not lost.
My understanding is the problem is accuracy and variability in speed.

Its a fun Cartridge and if you really get into it you can buy 1200 round cases cheap from RIA/Armscor thru their partner warehouses, as well as preprimed brass in 1200 round cases.
Shitty comparison using a revolver against a semi auto with the pressure leakage around the cylinder
40grain 22mag out of a keltec pmr which has a 5” barrel is 1600-1700fps depending on loading and better than that 30 grain
22tcm is ok but expensive,hard to find lower round count in magazines
