His mom is part of the reason, Dre ended the way he was. Even if she had a few good points, all she did was emotionally abuse him and treated him bad enough that he was just done with her. I get Christianity, but still no reason to treat your kid like he is the worst thing in the world. In a way she's wicked, and the kind of people who stray from the path. Dre's actions are his own, but his insecurities originated from his mother. That's why he'd tried way too hard and burned bridges to try and be like Ghost when he's too emotional.

Dre was an interesting character. He wanted to go from zero to 60 in 3.5 but still didn't know how to drive. He wanted everything Ghost had, but didn't have patience and wasn't willing to learn as a result, stepped on a lot of toes. I love that part where the Spanish connects were speaking their language and Dre couldn't keep up. Contrary to ghost who spoke fluent Spanish, because he knew he couldn't trust the people he worked with. Dre just wasn't ready to be ghost and suffered for it.

I may not like Dre because of what he did to Julio, however Dre really wasn't a backstabber the way that everybody proclaims him to be if you go back into season 4 if I'm not mistaken when Tariq was in trouble the first time and Dre surely tried to warn Tommy and ghost and they pretty much brush him off Tommy verbatim said Tarik is family Affairs and you ain't family so don't worry about Tarik at that moment he knew why am I being loyal to people who don't respect me? And that's understandable that don't necessarily make him a backstabber. Now what he did to Julio was backstabbing because he was scared Julio was going to talk to Tommy about Kanan And Dre's conversation that he seen he pretty much eliminated Julio and that's where I had a problem with him if you look at that scene where he saved Tommy's and when Dre told Tommy about it Tommy did not grateful at all and he has saved ghost life which was in Miami now Kanan and may have told him to kill pink sneakers but all he could have said was Ghost got to her before I did because she made a mark on herself by being obvious he could have got away Scott clean with it because she would've been dead anyway.
So the point is you can't sit here and dismiss people so many times because you're so self-absorbed in your own problems because nine times out of 10 when Tommy was on that booger sugar and Dre was trying to warn him about Canaan trying to infiltrate Tarik Tommy didn't listen and it took for Reina to be murdered by Ray Ray who is involved with Dre and Kanan if Tommy would have listened definitely Canaan would have died by the hands of Tommy and Dre would have never turned into a monster but you can't dismiss people and think that they're just going to keep taking it.
What Tommy did to Dre was exactly what ghost did to councilman Tate when councilman Tate was actually trying to warn ghost and season 6 episode 10 but because ghost was on his high horse he wasn't trying to hear it. So all-in-all exactly what ghost did to Larenz Tate was exactly what Tommy did to Dre Dre tried to warn him about Tarik and coincidentally tate was trying to warn ghost about Tarik so Dre wasn't a bad guy he was just fed up of trying to be loyal people that didn't want to be loyal to him so he became loyal to his self

I felt bad about Dre's death, I thought he was a character with a lot of potential. I think it would be cool if they made a series focusing on Dre's past. because you could see that he went through a lot of bad shit and it would be good to see his trajectory showing him as a child and what his relationship was like with his mother. You could see that Dre had a lot of scars and it would be good to take advantage of them and show us a little how he got here.
