Thank you Derrick & Shawnasi for sharing this video of the beautiful fall colors in Maggie Valley! Also, thank you for showing them as they truly look and not editing your video to make the colors look more vibrant and colorful than they really were. Unfortunately, I watched another video of Maggie Valley where that’s what they had done. Thank you for being truthful with your fans and making and sharing this video! ❤
@denisegfromkentucky9776 Thank you so much! Yes, we feel the colors are beautiful just the way they are. Thank you for your kind comment. We appreciate you watching!
I stayed there a few years ago and loved it. It was very clean, the owners were very friendly. I love the whole set-up of the place and the retro feel. I'd love to get a room on the backside of the property that's beside the creek.
Yes, that would be very nice, to be on the creek. Glad you stayed here and enjoyed your experience. We also found the owner to be very helpful and the room clean.
When you showed the license plates, the Indiana plate is from the county we live in. It is Washington County Indiana. Look like a place I would like. The retro look and the country atmosphere.
@jeffrivers4735 Oh, wow. That's neat. Thanks for sharing that. Glad they had s license plate from your county. Hope you get to stay there in the future.
xThe fall colors are absolutely beautiful. Here in middle Tennessee not as much change yet. There is a little yellow and orange colors but my 2 trees in my front yard are still green. Thank you for sharing this video. Have a blessed week.
I really liked this review.if ever wecget back to the Maggie Valley area again we are going to have to stay here. I love the retro look. It looks like our kind of place.
What a neat little motel. Very clean looking and I like the old school look about it. Hate when towns like Maggie Valley and such go modern. I want to see them to stay the same like when I was a kid.
@@tonylashmit2613 I completely agree. That's one of the reasons I love staying in places like this. It was very clean, and it sat back in off of the road amongst the trees. It was absolutely beautiful.
Hey Sharon again, our room was a bigger but had 2 queen beds and I believe the bathroom a little bigger. Route 19 was the old Rocky Waters motel and I believe it was built, when I looked it up, in 1948. And is the oldest motel in Maggie Valley. I remember the tiles in the bathrooms being the same as when we stayed there in the sixty’s and seventy’s. I’ve stayed mostly on the creek rooms the last few years, this time in room 3. The beds were fine in all of those rooms. Maybe that room needs a new bed. I’m so glad you finally got to stay. Oh and as a I remember playing with other children in, not that teepee because I think last year they had to replace it, the teepee . Lots of childhood memories there.
Thank you for sharing your memories of this place. I'm glad to know it was just our room that needed a new bed. We definitely want to stay here again, when we have maybe a couple of nights to look around and really enjoy the experience. We basically got there late, and left right before we met y'all up at the overlook I love older and nostalgic motels like this. We definitely want to come again.
Hi you guys good to see you guys again been off grid a little but back in the groove hurricane here in Augusta Georgia threw me for a loop but everything is ok now God bless you all
Thanks for sharing, we were considering staying there, just weren't sure if it was clean enough. Seems nice but the bed may be a deal breaker, I have to have a king size quality bed, had my back fused so comfort is a must.
I wouldn't let it stop me from staying. The manager actually reached out to us, and thanked us for bringing it to her attention, and said she would be taking care of it. Plus, other guests have commented, that they did not have that issue in their rooms. I would just let them know up front what you told me, so that they can check it out first and put you in the right room. It is VERY clean, so that wouldn't be an issue. Yes, our mattress needed attention, but that can happen. I would certainly encourage you to give it a try.
@@NCMemoryMakers Okay thank you for the info, maybe we'll give it a try. Many of the pet friendly hotels in the Cherokee area are in desperate need of updates. We usually stay at Twin Mountains in Pigeon Forge, clean and comfortable. We have our 16 yo Chihuahua Abby so we're always searching for good pet friendly facilities, clean and comfy beds for us.
@evdallas123 If you are leaving Maggie Valley going towards Cherokee, it is the last motel on the right, just past where Ghost Town In The Sky used to be.
We have eaten at Joey's twice, but we didn't this trip. We were leaving pretty early to head down to Franklin, because we had a full day planned. But we love Joey's. As far as RV parking, I'm honestly not sure. I don't recall seeing any.
The leaves are so pretty. The little Inn is cute, but us women usually take a lot of stuff, so the rooms would be nicer to be a little bigger, but I could get by lol. Have a good day. ❤❤😊
@@cathymcgee1674We are glad you enjoyed the video. We enjoyed our stay here, and we're talking about possibly coming back when we could spend more time there. Thank you so much for watching.
I love, love, love the pink and black bathroom. That old tile is awesome. They don't make stuff like that anymore. It last a long time. My grandparents home had this tile. Not pink, but green. Very cute little place. I'd be quite happy there. Did they have places to grill? You probably already said .
Honestly, I'm not sure, but my wife said she thinks there was a grill underneath a covering by the creek. I think it was around back behind the office. Yes, I really liked the bathroom, too. Thank you for watching.
I’m a fairly new subscriber, and I want to thank you for making these videos. We live in Mississippi and our granddaughter is a graduate student at Wake Forest. We have reserved a cabin in Maggie Valley for Thanksgiving and were really curious how the area was affected by Helene. Your video of driving west on 40 and getting off and going through Maggie Valley to Cherokee was assuring. Were you able to go from Cherokee to Gatlinburg without any problems?
@@rutho6690 Yes, the road through the National Park is open (Highway 441/ Newfound Gap Road). It only closes due to inclement weather, or as of late, commercial vehicles trying to go through there and causing accidents. The number to call for road closure information for Newfound Gap Road, is 865-436-1200. Simply press "1" when the recording picks up, and then press "1" again. This takes you to the road closure information. Thank you for subscribing and for watching. Maggie Valley and Cherokee are open and needing visitors to come.
Yes, you're correct...The bed was low to the floor. I guess there are a few rooms there that need attention. Several other people have commented that their beds were fine. I guess we both just got rooms that need new mattresses.
Thank you for sharing. I’ve been wanting to know more about this place. With your review I will definitely put it on my list and will stay there. Is this a locally owned business?
I don't know about who owns it, but I would say that it is. It's not a chain or anything. So, my guess would be that it is locally owned. I would definitely recommend staying there. Some people have mentioned that there are rooms on the creek. I think that's what I would like to try next time.

My wife and I were there a couple of years ago. Absolutely loved it. We had a room by the creek, sat on the balcony and drank coffee. Very relaxing.
That sounds like a wonderful experience. I love having rooms on the creek, where you can just sit out there and enjoy the sounds of God's creation.
