Thanks for reminding me to keep hauling logs. Only have to put up with traffic and lousy conditions on the highway for short periods of time. Off road, more snow the better it gets. 3 sets of drive and a drag chain is still easier than the B/S on the pavement.
Yes, enjoyed the trip and the commentary. Thank you for all the vids, driver. Drove reefers during college years in 87-90, including some MN-CO winter miles. Way before internet, cell phones and vlogging. Keep them coming, brings back good memories. Merry Christmas and stay safe brother.
Great video! You sounded disappointed that it wasn't snowing the third day, LOL. My aunt said that they got 24" in South Williamsport, PA, I think that was 1 1/2 days. No, no, I didn't catch the sarcasm.😉😉🤣🤣🤣 Stay safe & heathy out there. Spoke to ya later, Ka moan.😎
Love the videos, love the truck used to drive my buddy's 2010 Pete 379 with a 600 signature, Pullin b trains of lumber, watching your videos makes me feel like I'm driving it still, keep em up
Good video and commentary there Driver. Hope to hear more from you as you seem pretty relaxed talking about shit going on. I pity those drivers caught in those whiteouts, like how long can you hold her straight when you're driving blind. Anyway, stay safe out there brother.... turn and burn baby...Cmon..👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻
I drove for almost 15 years but that was the first time I ever saw one upside down, commenting so late because I just came across your videos and am binge watching now, great videos.
@@callthemall Winter driving is not a joke, its very easy to get in trouble. On European truck with only one driving axle on the rig there is a big chance of jackknifing by just not using the brakes right.
January 2012.....heading home with 2 empty trailers behind me.....started up a slight incline with a little turn at the top doing about 85 .....she got away from me and all hell broke loose for what seemed to be a hell of a lot longer than it was.....I landed in the entrance to a parking lot totally straight and blocking the entire entrance.....tow truck couldn’t believe how I managed it....lol.....he put a hook on my bumper....pulled me toward the highway and I drove home....lucky!!!!
Man I wish I could jump in with you for a haul and hear about how you got where you are....rolling down the highway in this great sounding 379. I've pushed a pencil all my life. Retired now and I want to get my CDL and hit the road. Ultimately I'd like to be O/O asap in my own Pete. Any advice is welcome. Thanks and keep the great content coming!!
Well as much as you really want the o/o life it’s definitely smarter to start out as a company guy and make mistakes and do your learning under someone else’s dime!!
Great video, dude. Just personal preference, but I think VLOG-type videos are much more interesting than simple driving ones. Were you able to bend your bumper back?
Working my way through your many videos! Winter driving in Ontario and Michigan is quite dangerous obviously. What do you do to stay right side up? I noticed that you do not speed or make quick moves. I imagine you avoid night driving when you can in times of snow storms.
It's a sad fact that dry vans and refrigerated trailers roll over because of the crosswind specially when they are empty. That's why I prefer flatbed 😁
a fella could drive for 40 yrs and retire and the first thing that would be brought up at his party would be that time in 2020 he rolled his truck upside down on Hwy 402.
@@callthemall Thanks! I just started flat deck suber b driving and have 2 loads to tarp monday morning. It will be my first time doing it alone. Some solid basics would be nice.
Awesome! So the big rule is you want to tarp it so the wind doesn’t get under the tarp when you’re going down the highway. So start with the back tarp first. Put the back flap down and secure it with bungies or whatever you’re using. Then the sides will overlap the back flap. Secure the flaps over the back flap, then bungie up the sides pulling away from the back flap. I use bungies on every hook on the bottom layer, pull tight and hook on to the rub rail at a good consistent tension. Some people bungie one hook, to the rail, then up at the next hook, but I find it’s pretty rare you get the tension right to make that happen, so I just hook it to the rub rail. The front tarp is the opposite procedure. You want to do the sides first and then the flap. I hook the front of the sides to the rub rail and then bungies across the front of the first skids as well. Then bungie the sides down starting front to back, pulling backwards. Lastly I do the front flap, and bungie it down to the rub rail, and maybe a couple bungies at the top to keep things together. Getting it to look pretty is chocked up to experience. The more you do, the better you’ll get! There are some loads that are super uneven and no matter what you do you can’t get them to look good though. So just make sure the tarp is secure and run it. Hope this helps!!
Hi someone from Europe here, I have one or two questions about your truck. Firstly do you have drum brakers or disk brakes, i´m asking because I am a Truck mechanic here and we have disc brakes in 99% of the Trucks here. And also i´ve heared that in the US/Canada you can still order trucks with a non braking front axle (?). And the second one whould be do you let your truck warm up when you first start it in the morning and if so how long. Because some drivers here in Europe dont care about that and turn their truck on and instantly start driving (i dont like these kinds of peope very mucht to say the least) anyways, I really enjoed the Video. Happy Hollidays and greetings from Germany ✌
My truck and trailers have drum brakes. The first trucking company I worked for had discs on their trucks and they were nice, it’s slowly coming into the industry over here. And yeah I always warm my truck up!
Great video. I like the commentary. Keep 'em coming. And Merry Christmas!
The way I was always taught to figure out C to F is, double the C number and add 30, it will be fairly close. This works mostly in the + temps.
Love your videos man I'm just getting into trucking myself from Ontario.

I would call Metro over 401 any day of the week..! Steady on there driver with best wishes from Niagara.!

Yeah but now it’s compromised with the kink at the top. I might run the rest of the winter with it but I’ll be getting a new bumper sometime soon!

Here in England, the second it snows, everything shuts down. I don't understand the issue. Just slow tf down

Haha, yeah I can have some tips! Are you looking for the basics? Or tips and tricks to make it look nice and pretty?

Do they require log books or eld's in canada?
Yes but I believe his truck is pre eld which means the motor is older than 99 (don't quote me on that number) so he doesn't have to run them
@@mail_liw call the mall has a 2006 Pete if I remember correctly. Not sure of engine year.
I think paper logs are still good for another year or something, but I run in the us which requires the eld
And yeah 2006, e log is on my phone hooked to the truck via bluetooth

If the weather understates the conditions they will be crucified. So they forecast to the lowest common denominator.
Do you prefer trucking in U.S.A vs Canada? Would be a nice video
