    Nice Job Terry 👍 I have had this unit for about a year now and it’s still doing great. I purchased this unit over the Brinsea due to the turning trays. It is a pain to wash due to its size in a sink. So now I wash it in the tub which works great. Just be careful about sending water into the turning lever hole.
    Happy New Years !!!

    Thank you so much for the review. I haven't heard of this brand before, but I will be sure to check it out now. I am interested in raising quail and turkey, so not having to buy additional racks is a plus.

      The smaller 2 the lumina 8 and 16 have also got a neat 12v cigarette plug which some people who have a 12v off grid system could use to power the unit here in Australia i paid 440 AUD delivered for the 16 and im impressed by it. It was Katya that put me onto it as she also uses one

    Thanks, Terry. I've heard nothing but good things about Borotto incubators from several Aussie poultry breeders over the last few years, as well as from Ally at Confetti Quail Farm. I plan to upgrade my POC incubator to a Borotto in the new year.

      Jaye, borotto incubators are really nice! Although im not so sure about the Sirio humidity pump. So far filling the 1 resivor is keeping the humidity right at 40%. I think this unit would be great even without the pump! I will try and come back after i bump it to 65% on the 1st

    Watching this video I see why such incubators like Farm Innovations have horrible temp control and are very unevenly heated; the fan is off-center and the motor is in one corner and creates a hotspot on that side. 3 minutes in and you are really selling me on the Borotto. Wow! The fact that you can add water without removing the top is great. I've heard people using a turkey baster or syringe from the top on the Farm Innovations, which is just silly to have to do. This one sounds superior and the price difference is minimal for the hassle of other brands.

    I have two of their incubators. They work great for quail, chicken, pheasant and duck. The turner does not hold large goose eggs well. The goose eggs are too top heavy and turner will not turn. For large breeds like Pilgim geese, it does not even hold the eggs. I have written to Premier, who sells the Borotto incubators, and requested turners that hold large eggs on their side, like Brisenea. If enough people request them, I think they will come out with an XL turner option. Otherwise, I love these incubators. Definitely order the external humidifier.

    My hatch rate went from 40% to 96% with the Borotto 24 Real automatic(with the egg turner). I also used the Sirio humidity pump. I was getting wry neck, and crooked toes with the Nurture Right 360. All hatching problems were resolved by using the Borotto incubator. The instructions to change the eggs in the center egg tray to the side egg trays is for the incubator without the turning motor. I found out by contacting Borotto.

    Note that to use the humidity pump your AMBIENT humidity in your area must be above 32. I'm in the mountains and am rarely above 15, so I don't use my pump. Also, I used a container that only has enough to not FLOOD in case the pump keeps getting the signal. Found that out the hard way. I don't believe the manual mentions the minimum, as back East and in Italy/Europe ambient himidity is probably ABOVE that mark of 32%.

    • @jasoncassard
      @jasoncassard 6 місяців тому

      I saw another review where the guy drilled a couple of small holes at the very top of the 2 reservoirs. This would allow overflow into the large basin and not flood the eggs.
      You could also add sponges into the basin and small reservoirs, that would add to the surface area and raise humidity (that's a Terry trick).

    Hi Terry! if i do not have the pump, how i can stabilize my humidity level? I live in the Caribbean, dry hatch or wet hatch which is ok?

    • @user-zf3xb3qx8w
      @user-zf3xb3qx8w 9 місяців тому

      What is your AMBIENT humidity in the Caribe?? Or does it rise/fall drastically? I dry hatch and my ambient is rarely above 15 in the mountains, so my guess is hyou'd dry hatch and not even need the pump.

    • @user-zf3xb3qx8w

      your AMBIENT humidity must be less than 32%, so the pump will keep pumping. My water reservoir only has enough water each time to NOT flood the levels.

    Without the pump it is $358- with the pump it is $485. This is way too expensive to compare to the entry level incubators. However if you have a larger hatchery I suppose you can make a profit on it if you keep it running continuously for several years.

    • @johnhourie1215
      @johnhourie1215 2 роки тому +3

      Some people will pay alittle more for quality 358 isnt bad if company will stand by there product. Im thinking about getting one. They also have a smaller one for 228 does half the eggs tho
