      Load bearing gear is making a pretty swift comeback in the videos I’ve seen of troops in Ukraine. I never liked the LBE when we were mounted. The butt pack just made it hard to sit in a vehicle. But dismounted it is absolutely great.

      @@EarlCorgi how much mounted stuff in SHTF/War of restoration will we be doing? None of us are getting younger either. Never road in vehicles until GWOT, no way is anything home grown going to be like GWOT(for the good guys anyhow). We will be hoofing it in local ambushes or protecting property and no way in hell am I wearing body armor in Arkansas in the summer. The bad guys will be using the bases they have now and maybe building some FOBs, I say maybe because the longer it goes on the weaker and closed in they will get(just like GWOT). We have to remember how we used to operate and adapt counter it.

    I didn't have a problem with the front straps on the standard harness, but the Y style strap was not that comfortable and would get twisted. I switched to an H harness from krydex in ocp/ scorpion for $24.95 they also have it in Coyote for $21.95. It has similar front straps, but the H harness back is a lot less irritating. Wears pretty well under any of my rucksacks I've tried it with. It is a Chinese copy of spiritus systems tap upgrade kit, I'm a poor boy on social security.

    A lot of dudes are obsessed with the tough guy ego trip of roughing it. I definitely agree with cutting back on unnecessary weight, you probably dont need a tent, you probably dont need a full mess kit, but a little food and a shelter half are just a little extra weight for a shit ton of comfort, and comfort does count. Is it considered “open carrying” when you carry a rifle in the woods? Or is it a “within city limits” thing. Won’t hikers or campers call the cops on you if they see you with a rifle and a load out. What happens if they do? I’d be nervous about getting shot by some dumbass cop that thinks you’re doing something wrong.

    • @DJTheMetalheadMercenary
      @DJTheMetalheadMercenary Місяць тому +2

      Depends on your state laws, but just about all federal national parks and BLM land you can openly carry firearms, and many states have no restrictions against open carrying, and states where conceal carry is a thing, you can conceal carry no problem unless state law says otherwise. Just look them up.
      People are indeed dumb in large when it comes to ignorance of not knowing their rights and what they can do to exercise such on public land. Park Rangers and Game Wardens know better and have plenty of training and education understanding said protected rights, so if some idiot calls something in, odds are you're just going to have a nice civil discussion with a Ranger/ Warden for about 20 minutes talking about the upcoming hunting season or whatever once they realize (or already know off the bat) that you're not doing anything wrong. Other best case scenario is whoever called it in will be reprimanded or charged with filing a false complaint lol.

    • @EverydayAmerican
      @EverydayAmerican Місяць тому +2

      I guess it depends on your state and local laws but, it’s largely considered open carry. Other hikers and campers can do what they want. They may not like it or they may not care. If they don’t like it, they may or may not report it to someone. If they report it to someone, that someone may or may not investigate it. If you’re not doing anything suspicious, most LEO will tell the person reporting you that they have no reason to investigate. It’s highly likely you won’t have any problems. Really depends how thick skinned you are. Do you care if people may become stressed out or worried by an armed individual (you) in their presence? Some people may just not want to create any waves or bring any attention to themselves. Completely up to what you’re comfortable with.
