Hey JDM! I was about to throw out my Roku after several attempts. I even took it apart and cleaned with alcohol but to no avail. As a retired electrician I have an exact can of contact spray. I did you as said and darn it work like a champ, thanks you saved me a few buck!👍👍😎😎

My ROKU is only abt 4 months old & the Right Arrow Key was getting so hard to use, would have to press it as hard as I could sometimes 3 & 4 times to get it to move right Very Frustrating to say the least. All other buttons worked fine, Then found this video & thgt I'd give it a shot. The back is quite hard to pry off, but like shown jst use a little screw driver to work your way arnd the edges & eventually you get it off. The circuit board where the buttons are has what looks like a thin plastic coating covering on it, so I was thinking how is the spray cleaner gonna work/free up the stuck button, if the buttons are covered in plastic, but I gave it a couple of good sprays then put it back together & BAM It Worked Like New Thank God, as I was abt ready to chuck the remote & jst start over with a new one. What about the 4 screws, obviously not the Ultra's remote which has one and the board is secured.
I'm not sure that applies in this scenario I don't recall any screws for this specific remote unless I remove them and elected not to put them back in
@@JDMHaze Possibly, most versions of the TV remote have them on the battery compartment but your may be different. The Ultra use pressure pads but the two buttons could still interfere. I just got tired of pulling is apart all the time. I was trying to disable those annoying app launch buttons. After it apart several time the navigate right button is not working but the others are. I may take it apart and check for that interference since the others work. The Ultra uses AA unlike the regular voice remote, without the audio jack, that uses AAA. The new Pro uses a built-in rechargeable one so when that fails you have to throw it out. I just use rechargeable AA and I will never have to throw mine away unlike the newer junky design.
Personally, I hate the mute button, it should be above the volumes which need to be slightly lower. I am always accidentally hitting mute with my thumb. It is exactly where thumb rotates from the OK button to the side.
It is NOT water, it is called alcohol.
