Hello hello! i finally checked out this crazy idea of a mod... Dang did I die a ton of times or what? X.x" If you like my videos, check out Horoscopicus on Steam or consider becoming a channel member (Cool emotes! ) Thank you! :)
The events in survivor’s campaign and the ones around that time is basically the equivalent to Autumn(without the dying plants), Saint was winter, and this is now spring
I’ve been going someone did this this! When the world finally warmed up, and creatures thrived. Scavengers populations regrowing after arti killed most of them, lizards thriving with little rainfall. The plants taking over the once industrial areas, it’s so interesting!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PLAYING!! sorry if the spawn right next to the toll was frustrating, i updated it so there would be more pearls there literally right before i saw this video xD. the only reason why i chose that room as the temporary spawn is that i plan for the campaign to start in subterranean, and that room right before farm arrays is the closest place i could get to there since we havent finished the other regions yet. sorry about all the roots in the way, its hard to balance aesthetics whilst still having the geometry be visible, i'll try to see if i can fix it :) also thats weird that scavs are down there in the starter rooms, i thought i made it so they stayed on the surface but i'll have to check it out honestly a weird coinidence how the lightmap for that room lines up perfectly so the shelter icon is illuminated (and i used an effect to make the illumination contrast a ton)
It's not a big deal, don't worry! This mod is incredibly promising and very ambitious so there are bound to be some things that slip past in development :P Glad to see you are working so hard on it and willing to improve all these little micro "complaints" (I say that extremely lightly, it really really wasn't a complaint!) I'll be playing industrial for the next video soon, and I noticed pipeyard is out too so there will probably even be a part 3 :P Despite that, I will try to accompany the mod progress and show off the regions as they get near completion :) Thanks for leaving the nice comment! :D And thanks for sharing it in the workshop page, that is always appreciated of course :)
It is because we recognise how much time must have passed- the ecosystem is evolving. Iterators are slowly dying. It has been millennia, if not millions of years since the earliest Slugcat's campaign. And we cannot help but feel saddened to know this. Humans like to cling to things they’re familiar with, after all.
I'd like to mention that this isn't canon, since it's said in one of the developer commentary nodes that the natural state of the world is an icy tundra. (I think it's somewhere in Bitter Aerie in Rivulet's campaign) The sheer amount of heat produced by iterator structures is why the other campaigns only have the rain, no snow. Outer expanse is also affected, hence why it's basically humid marshlands.
They can say whatever they want, but even a natural state can change with time and condition the world is in can change as well. Enough cycles have passed aaaaand... voila, winter's no more. Kinda wonder where's the Void Sea level at, though.
@@Pe6De wouldn’t the only way a change like this would be possible would be for the planet to somehow start receiving more heat from it’s sun? Either by getting closer to it’s sun or being pulled into the orbit of another sun. The other option would be volcanic activity which we know can’t be possible due to the void sea existing in place of magma.
@@Pe6De The planet may be colder than Earth in general, in which case it couldn't happen without some serious astronomical changes. Alternatively runaway greenhouse effect could do that, but I don't think it could happen without an active industrial civilization quickly enough for this much of a heat up in a time frame where all the structures are still there (even considering that the ancients use some scifi/fantasy grade self-healing concerete)
@@Zandoflethe amount of heat a planet receives from its sun does change over time. This can be due to a multitude of factors such as the tilt of the planet changing, slight changes in its orbit, or the brightness of the star changing over time. It's one of the factors that causes ice ages on Earth
it would be cool to see a higher slugcat population this place is beginning to look like outer expanse which is where they live. although they would have to make a adult scug ai so it would be very hard
i'll admit, its kinda cool seeing the regions so overgrown. so long after the machine gods expired, that the erasure of history is just about happening at the hands of nature. its a fun idea to explore.
This is absolutely insane!!! It perfectly fits my headcanon for the future of Rain World- the scavengers are becoming the dominant species and advancing technologically. My personal understanding/headcanon of the Cycle is that it is an immense time loop millions of years long, so I believe that the scavengers evolve into the Ancients and start the story all over…
I... I just realized how much sense that makes?? Based on the murals, the bodies of Ancients don't actually look so different from Scavs. That and the way its heavily implied that the Ancients dug right through into a preexisting temple!
I love the way the lighting was done… it looks so ethereal and really gives an atmosphere and feel to it that just is absolutely phenomenal The lighting makes me feel as if… everything has calmed down, everyone can relax and take a deep breath and sit back
Ah yes, the best song of the game. Seems like this memetic brainworm found its way into mod titles as well. In hindsight, not surprising at all, it was used as one of the central pieces of the DLC. And you won't forget it once you have heard it once. A bit projecting here, but I just love this song so much.
I know it’s early in development, but I love it already, wonder what new creatures and regions we’ll see (maybe some evolutionary stuff like yellow lizards evolving into a more green lizard niche since I think they are canonically extinct)
Btw try exploring with mod "no friend fire". If you have chieftain passage and high rep on scavs they wont be able to hurt you at all ( and you wont be able to too (explosives exist) )
Fun fact, the reason why saints timeline is so cold is because the rain world area we play in is very high elevation, and when the iterators die and stop producing heat the area cools down, this means that the distance between this mod and saint is much much larger than the distance between saint and spearmaster, because the area they where on had to erode far enough down that the area became tropical. I love rain world’s visualization of the passage of time, it doesn’t feel like the world is ever dying just changing which is really nice when you think about it.
definitely can't wait for this mod's completion, so many interesting and curious things ahead. Like what does depths look like? How are Moon and Pebbles?
Would suspect LttM is doing pretty great - she was never infested with Rot, so she'd rebuild after that amount of time. Five Pebbles, on the other hand, is probably gone.
@@lolight2 In that case yes, though the mod would need to then take into account whether your Saint ascended them or not. It'd probably be the best solution really. If Saint didn't ascend either, or left LttM alive, LttM should be around and probably slowly climbing back to something resembling her prime if she's capable of self-maintenance.
@@lolight2 definitely something interesting, but I hope they're there just for the new dialogue and how they've changed over what would be a far longer time gap than Saint could ever be.
Well ice ages can last for as little as 100,000 years so the growth isn't impossible. I'm more curious to see if Moon or Pebbles are still functional or if the rains are still as deadly
woah, this is such an amazing mod! I always love speculating on what the world would look like long after saint’s campaign, guess I’m not the only one!
nice question! i currently didnt watch the video but i would say sonething like everything just collapsing edit: i was wrong, planet life went high instead
It would be hard to remake the whole of rainworld with a lot of collapsed structures so overgrown is just easier for map makers If they did do collapsed they would probably take over a year to get everything looking good and polished
How tf whould the plantlife be there and it not beinb cold, whould be more genuine if it was more of an echosystem coming bavk and a little rainy, also how does rainworlk???

I wonder how his superstructures doin' now, aswell as moon.

@@emirbergazden9723and the bomb:
No rain OR snow? Now we just need to switch daylight back and forth!
Yup! Looks like it all melted away, and clogged drainage system so now we have flooded sections and scavengers as beach goers xD
Turn it into pikmins day night cycle but your not forced to go to a shelter, mostly the creatures becoming hungrier at night and aggro easily
@@cogs_and_gearslike in metropolis
@@cogs_and_gearsI don’t think it’s possible to make any creature agro more easily OR make them hungrier, there always on the hunt…
@@CYN_FAN12 my other idea was to make an overpowered predator that only appears at night somehow
man, if people use this as a base now and have custom scugs for post-saint campaigns with this that'd be so lovely
The snow probably melted and made the lower parts of Outskirts flood.
Probably, could be that all water consumption had ceased and the environment was unprepared for any settled water as the drainage has failed
The events in survivor’s campaign and the ones around that time is basically the equivalent to Autumn(without the dying plants), Saint was winter, and this is now spring
Would that make pre pebbles and technomancer summer
@@cogs_and_gears I'd go as far as say that was the Spring, while Spearmaster, Arti and Hunter happen during the Summer.
@@Pe6De Wouldnt that make Hunter and Gourmand the in between since Gourmand happens the same cycle Hunter's ends?

So scavengers dominated the world after all
I'm trying so hard not to play this before it's finalized, so I've got a long wait ahead... it looks incredible, though!
Progress seems to be really steady thankfully! I think the devs are doing an amazing job, especially considering how massive this mod is gonna be :)

i'll admit, its kinda cool seeing the regions so overgrown.
so long after the machine gods expired, that the erasure of history is just about happening at the hands of nature.

I wonder how would "The radiosphere" look in this world state
Despite everything, some things don't change, but will instead be buried.
Been eyeing this one for a while.
I just can't wait for the full mod, it was a concept that i always thought of.
