- Neil Young and Crazy Horse perform "Ramada Inn" live at the Farm Aid concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 22, 2012. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?
When my pops returned from Vietnam for the second and last time, he had a shoebox full of tapes and in that box was Everybody Knows This is Nowhere. I fell in love with the music of Neil Young at that time, never thinking about how cool my dad was to have a Neil Young tape that he listened to in Nam. Very cool and beyond meaningful. That was late 1969. I have been enjoying Neil for 52 years now. When I see him in a vid with that black Les Paul with the Bigsby tail piece, I settle in for a great vid and a great song. When I am sad, which is too often these days, I put Neil on the stereo as loud as the neighbors can stand it and disappear into happiness. Long live Neil...and long live the most excellent backing band in rock history...Crazy Horse!
He's a humanitarian, animal lover. His honesty blows me away. There can be only one Neil Young. Lotta Love was the first song I heard of Neil's. Comes a time. We got big problems in Australia. India and China are slowly claiming Aboriginal land. Tasmania of all places, that Oliver Anthony song, rich men from Richmond, we are the majority. Trump as a leader
Funny entertaining man but, no way is or will ever be leadership material.
Michaelehrhart, I feel the same. I listen and it goes straight to my heart and take me out of anything stressful
and confusing. I recognize on
the first notes. It's become part of me. How he does it...
but I'm sure glad he does!
The song is so mesmerizing, you have to take a step back and realize just how great this song is!
I have to think of my relationship with my, well, my longest relationship, my daughters mother, which lasted 18 years and we still have contact together, this song takes me back through that relationship, wow, it's as if he wrote this song about our relationship!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏👫✨❤️✨🎸🎸🎸Great Song Does what he has too, He does what he needs tooooo......
Kelly after my divorce I just got in my car and had this on repeat for 3 weeks. It was a song sent from heaven.
Likewise never had belting out the godine with stereo amp maxedover thebslcany with the astonishedmokers on their break
Crazy horse 🐎
Here's the intense force of the Horse, can you hear it?
Long live Crazy Horse.
Long May You Run
I saw this show. Absolutely unbelievable the power of the guitars and the sound.
I couldn't believe nothing blew up!
Saw it in Calgary. Los Lobos warmed up.
Never will forget that night!
I was there, completely amazing performance. The whole set was mesmerizing. Neil's guitar just echoed around the stadium, it was gorgeous.
He does make such a glorious noise.
I am always gratified to read about how so many listeners describe their intense feelings and personal memories of Neil. I see myself in all of them. We are all so lucky, aren’t we, to have so much of our souls wrapped up inside Neil’s endless horizon. How does he do it? Still, after decades, he remains in his output mode, ever-creating, ever-performing. There is nothing to do, but watch Ol’ Black rock back and forth, swing up and down, and behold in gratitude creation taking shape through the filter of Neil Young. This is certainly my own corner of heaven on earth . . . yet look . . . there are tens of thousands of you here with me. Keep on keeping on Neil!!!! For further listening pleasure, check out Neil's "No Hidden Path."
I will never feel thankful enough to Neil...
to miki
Man, to hear Neil soloing live using old black on an expansive open song like that. Couldn’t even imagine
we are used to "admire" those songs considered the best of all times. They're usually old songs. The first time I listened this song, the firt thought I had was that was very lucky to live in a time when a one of the best songs ever ritten comes to you, in your time, something that is gonna be remembered forever. Thank you Neil
My thoughts exactly.
Agreed. It is a “classic” already in my opinion.
Right on, ATIMELESS SONG ✨🎸✨👌✨🙏✨❤️✨🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Godfather of Grunge, thank you Neil for all the music.
Brilliant. Can listen to Neil for hours. Psychedelic Pill is an amazing compilation....Ramada Inn, Walk like a Giant, She’s Always Dancing etc. are unique creations.
I've been a fan for many years...actualy just kinda only knew heart 'o gold back in the 90's till a friend of mine played me old man and down by the river, cortez the killer, hurricane etc..and we were fortunate to see him live at a concert in 2008 (Bospop /Weert NL) and I kinda just kept playing just most of those better known songs (to us at least thinking these are the classics songs) fighting urges of playing airguitar but usuauly not ashamed to start howling along with Neils guitar...
and then I stumbled upon some of these farm aid perfomances in early 2020...and I thought: damn How could I have missed these songs??
Ramada Inn is for me - two years later - still my nr 1 Neil Young song to start howling like a mad dog🐺🌙
Me too.
this may be my fav neil song ever. ive listened to it so many times. i know there are many to choose from. many "classics" but i cant remember feeling this way about another song. it takes me to another place. thanks for everything. NY forever!
Totally agree...
One of his latter-day masterpieces!
Indeed.
16 minutes of turnaround heaven
My oldest son is named Neil .... after Neil Young .... 39 years of marriage!
My youngest son is named Neil my oldest son is named Dylan. They are 31 and 35 years old.
Youngest son is named Eric!! 🙂
sheer brilliance, this should be taught in every music school on how to construct a score
Simply one of the greatest songs, lyrics and guitar work of all time.
So many years now together
All those good times, ups and downs
So many joys raising up those kids
They've moved on now out of town
So many times she tried
So many times she cried
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding onto what they've done
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she needs to
In a Ramada Inn, near the grapevine
They stop to rest for the night,
Traveling down south looking for good times
Visiting old friends feels right
People they haven't seen in forever
Since high school, San Jose times
The restaurant food and the bottle
Had a few drinks
And now they're feeling fine
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding on to what they've done
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he has to
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
Seem like lately things are changing
Seems like lately things are going south
A few drinks now and she hardly knows him
He just looks way and shuts out
And when she says it's time to do something
Maybe talk to his old friends who gave it up
He just pours himself another tall one
Closes his eyes and says that's enough
Every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding on to what they've done
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
Seem like lately things are changing
Seems like lately things are going south
A few drinks now and she hardly knows him
He just looks way and shuts out
When she says it's time to do something
They would talk to his old friends who gave it up
He just pours himself another tall one
Closes his eyes and says that's enough
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding onto what they've done
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding onto what they've done
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
Plays like a Giant
Neil's music will never die
Love him so!
This is a gorgeous song.
Great words
Neil just took me on a trip!!
Jus the pleasure to hear Neil and his Crazy Horse playing together... :o)
Hello Neil thank you for all the good music cheers
I am so into Neil Young I have over 30 of his cds. My greatest hero. The most radical guitarists I ever seen in my 68 year life B. Wright 1060
Love yoo man ✌✊
I’ll always appreciate this songs beauty with a smile and a tear for the words not spoken. I like this version , no I like them both I’ve only seen 2 versions.
HONESTLEY...... A GREAT PIECE OF ART. Over and out!
and every morning comes the sun....wow
Saw him twice on the Psychedelic Pill tour. Hamburg and Berlin. His music filled my life from the very beginning. The only musician I missed at my venue. :)
Guitar intro, three guitar solos - all unique. One of the best pieces of guitar work. I've listened to the guitar on this song so many times and it sounds fresh every time, it's so rich and deep.
Only guitar player that can seamlessly go from lead to rhythm and back again
I was at the Birmingham LG Arena for this show in 2013 (I think, I'm getting old). They were incredible, played for about three hours with new stuff and classic Young/Crazy Horse stuff. Second best gig ever (first being Screaming Trees at Bristol Bierkeller in 1996!)
Crazy Horse music is almost like a volcano it slowly erupts around you beautiful
A maestro’s musical masterpieces
They live forever in our hearts
As seeds ready to grow a new in ourself and in others.
Long live crazy horse.
Destroyers of darkness
Revealers of light
🔥♥️🎼
Neil is one of the greats, awesome band 👍🏽
I saw this live in Albuquerque before Psychedelic Pill came out, first concert of tour. Americana was just out so that is what we expected. Then he came out with all this!! Thank You, Neil!
gute Musiker brauchen keine große Show und Blitzlichtgewitter - klasse - geniale Musik
You get the feeling, especially after looking at all their faces and how they’re all singing along with each other, that this song means very much to them. After all of their decades playing together, it seems as if they’re summarizing their lives together in this masterpiece. Nostalgia, memories, love, heartbreak, challenges, joys. Just beautiful.
Neil is truly great !
God bless the horse!! Truth honesty passion
I LOVE THIS JAM! BEAUTIFUL SONG! Thank You, Neil!
beautiful song, I love it!
Amazing the guy still writes such brilliant songs now and again. He could have put this out in 1975 and the whole tune would have gotten played on the air. Changing roles of the characters, He loves her so and She loves him so and what they do as a result is really something Neil and Dylan might write and do it well.........As for the guitar, he's a monster on this number and a couple others on the album.......Nice!!!! I dig the Tablet teleprompters, he's taken a tip from Sinatra there.........
So simple yet so genius.. Absolutely brilliant musical composition and lyrics!
Out of this world
Just amazing.
Amazing song and amazing album. Proof that there's no need to be extremely skilled (as in fast, technically perfect, etc.) as a guitar player to construct guitar melodies and guitar solos that really touch your soul and will be remembered forever.
Thanks for the Post.. It don't get any better than Neil and Crazy Horse.
Neil Young...grazie!
Thanks for posting this...Neil is a true great talent..
He is also a caring, cool, down to earth nice guy that
supports worthy causes such as bringing more care,
respect,appreciation,healing and protection for our
amazing beautiful but now much polluted and hurting
planet earth and endangered lands, waters, soils and
wildlife...keep on doing all the good that you do..thanks
the new album is so great, I hear it every day
Un Neil très concentré et inspiré sur cette longue chevauchée électrique, typique de son style country rock échevelé. Du grand art !
" ...in a Ramada inn near the Grapevine.. " - Neil Young
How could I missed this album and fantastic song for such a long time !?
Brilliant!!!!
Was so amazing seeing this from the front section! Best concert ever
Ideal que Grandes músicos como Neil se unan por causas de este tipo...
I have tickets to 2 Neil Young and Crazy Horse shows back to back summer nights in a forested GA venue in Vancouver.
I can't wait. I don't even care what he plays, as long as it's the guitar. That sound.
He NAILED it! ;) Nah. THIS is a Beastly jam! I love it! UNCLE NEIL HASN'T LOST A LICK!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for putting this up here.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Horse.....
It's almost unfair to include 3 Neil Young songs in my all-time top 10!
💎
I wonder what the odometer reading is on that there guitar.
This is a great jam tune, the Austin City Limits version is the killer version for me though
NEIL NEIL NEIL NEIL
I firmly believe that Ramada Inn is on par with powderfinger or hey hey my my in terms of Neil cannon
I want Billy's bass!
He/She does what He/She has/needs to -> What's the meaning behind this? What is it what he/she has/needs to do?
I love Neil but psychedelic pill was so much better than the few albums that came before or after it. Like younger Neil wrote it.
I feel sorry for all the kids listening to Justin Beaver right now.
sailing95 Good one ! 😅😅😅

Salut mon choualvert
this, cortez,running dry.big time,bandit how do you pick a top5
I've always thought that there's a point in his playing where old black plays Neil young
At $8K+ an acre for decent farm land, most farm owners are millionaires.
If everyone owned their own means of production, we'd all be "millionaires." If I owned the slice of the warehouse I worked at I'd be a "millionaire." But nobody thinks asset value counts toward being a "millionaire." What matters is income, and farmers don't have millionaire incomes.
Much like the animal rights people, the Farm Aid crowd is being selective about who should be saved in a free market. Should we go back and save the blacksmith or the horse and carriage men and women, subsidize their services and products, but not do that for others??? The fact is there is plenty of food and other farm produced goods, so where do we go with the issues?? That said, I do not believe wiping all Federal aid in one stroke of a pen should happen either, but a slow move to complete independence would be the solution IMO.
+sailing95 I just had to laugh, I'm a farmer with 265 acres and you have no idea. I would love for you to come live and work with me for about six months although you would probably not last that long. Most people wouldn't last six days on a farm. But every time you put a bite of food in your mouth, thank a farmer! Oh and by the way, Neil is pure genius and has been even before Buffalo Springfield!
+James Couch -- I appreciate your comment and all your good work. I own 459 acres in Iowa but live elsewhere. I rent it out to a great farmer - one of the best men I know. I wouldn't be able to keep up with him for a day.
Led zepplen
You're out your mind dude. Seriously?
He's gotta be out of his mind. Old Black rocks with Neil playing it!
No wonder that the band were uninspired and bored. I used to wait for his next record from 1989 to 1995, but then i lost interest, of obvious reasons.
With the money Neil has he should buy a brand new guitar. He can sell me this black crap if he wants.
He likes Old Black just fine. He's not concerned with how it looks or how his clothes look. He's confortable in his own skin. And that's enough.
F3FisGoodforYou Ol Black is probably worth over a million$.
no seriously his guitar has dings everywhere, that's not professional at all. He can get a brand new epiphone for less than 600$. I mean even with that crap he's still a decent player (not as good as the Jonas brothers tho).
Ignorance is bliss
