Hi Mart, many thanks for the mention and it was nice to meet you and talk about and comparing our respective 100e's. It's a shame that we ended up on the back of a car transporter but thankfully the fix was easy, took 10 minutes - most of that was finding the replacement HT leads!. This was a great event and we will be back in future years.
Fairly decent car show Mart.. I was concerned that something untoward may have happened to you as things were quite on your channel. Good to know you are still in the land of the living.
Hi Kevin. I've decided to step back from the UA-cam thing. It is treadmill I don't need to be on and I want a break. I will post stuff but only on an irregular basis. Thanks for thinking of my wellbeing.
Thank you for the tour. I could see you could spend days looking. So many cars with so much more charactor than cars of today. There was one cutaway car that was amazing at the work that went into it. It was fun about you sitting on that chassis. Thanks again.👍
Hi Mart, thanks for posting this memory of a very enjoyable day. I would have said hello but when ever our paths crossed you were always in conversation, good to see the 100e in the tin as well. Mine was one of the Pilots, in which unfortunately one of the exhaust valve seats jumped out on the way home. So I’m trawling through your old Crusty build posts (a very useful resource) for hints and ideas, I made a copy of the valve removal tool yesterday. Did you find the home made sticker, there was a larger version in the Pilot.
Hi Pat. You really should have gave me a nudge! I did find the sticker, thanks for making it. It was very good of you. I did change a valve seat insert years ago. but not recently. I used a tank cutter to enlarge the seat diameter and used an oversize insert. I have that Buma cutter but have never used it to fit a seat. Not sure what I would suggest. Best of luck with it.
@@MartsGarage I have had an offer of help but I think it's time to pulling the motor and do a few checks first. If you want the file for the sticker you are welcome it's your image 😁, tell me how to send it. It looks better printed a bit larger , about 7x5.
Wonderful tour Mart, love the custom/hot rod section. I wish you’d hovered a little longer on the Rover Marauder at 31.07ish. Cause I bought one in 1966. Swapped a 58 Zodiac for it really. It was the first production model, I wonder which the one you saw was? Only about 13 made.
Blimey Jab that 's a rare one. I must admit I am not familiar with the model. The wiki listing shows a pic of the first car was that yours? Here's the one in the museum: www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/online-collections/details-page?row_id=76417800351
I've a lead on a Mk1 Zephyr in South Wales Mart. It's a widow selling, cousin of my ex-girlfriend. Her husband was a car sales man for many years and the zephyr, sadly, was his unfinished retirement project. It's mostly together (rolling) and looks to be solid metal work throughout. It's a two-tone car and looks like it'll finish up really well. The engine's out and it'll need some interior upholstery work and the usual brakes/steering/suspension re-commissioning. Probably asking in the £4-5k region, but as I said, I think, going off the photos it'll make a really neat finished car. If you or anyone Geoff might know is interested I can WhatsApp some pics. and probably get more details, if serious.
I mentioned it to Geoff and he's not looking for any more. He already has a second Zephyr taking up space. I can't take another one on either. Thanks for mentioning it though, hopefully it will find a new home.
